@@TheOrchidHut Oh.i understand. Though they prefer high heat, they also need very bright light which you have in Texas. Humidity in air does not have to be that high---around 50% is sufficient. The roots do have to be wet via soaking them for several minutes in buckets twice a day in Summer, especially. The velamen turns white quickly, regardless-which does not mean moisture inside root is gone. Another requirement is high feeding in Summer months(20-20-20 every other feeding) and lower fertilizer in alternate months. I use Ochid+/cal mag to about 300ppm. I grow mine indoors in west window where I get the heat and very bright light several hours/day in Summer. and I use fan on them most of time as ,well.I over -winter them under grow lights(about 6 inches above). Misting is just not sufficient and may cause bacterial growth/rot,even. All in all...the flowers are so gorgeous ,so I continue with them. A mature plant is usually 4-6 yrs ole and has many leaves. Yours are pretty young. Well ...i hope you have enough info now. Stay the course if you want the flowers.

Hello love your video. I live in Drummondville ,Quebec Our weather is what it is , this summer we had rain almost no sun. And now we are in winter last night it when down to -13 so we mostly grow in doors.I have this Vanda tesselliata 10 in tall growth is slow I have had it 3yrs no blooms. It is in a pot with bark. i have no idree what it needs to bloom.
Your growing conditions are very different from mine, so not sure my advice is worth much! I will say, Vandas like bright light even if you have to provide with a grow light…and, a distinct wet/dry cycle with humidity. I’ve never been successful growing them in bark. All of mine are bare rooted.
Hiya, hope you're doing great, I have one vanda, what's the medium/ soil you used? Does Vanda need direct sunlight? Thank you for sharing your video 🙏💕
Growers use many different media...some grow in pots with bark, some in leca, some in baskets with large chunks (like me), etc. You may have to experiment a little what works in your growing environment. I tried pots, and that was a huge failure. I almost lost these vandas because the pots could not dry out quick enough. Most vandas do not want a lot of direct sunlight, but they are a high light orchid. Early morning direct sun would probably be okay, but then I'd aim for bright, filtered sun the rest of the day. Hope that helps.
I have two......MUST dunk them every day...misting will not be sufficient. Good luck!
That would be another reason why I don’t want too many...too high maintenance. What is your outdoor humidity like?
