Ruu is officially my favorite NPC in the whole entire game. He's really adorable not gonna lie and his voice is soft and relaxing to listen to. I hope there will be a full version f his song so I can play it while I sleep in peace.
its sad that he had already passed away even before we met him t~t he was sacrificed and the island folks used his blood as an offering to the thunderbird, when all she wanted was to hear him sing :((( it also hurts more when the goblet in the thundering fury set was the cup they had used to store ruu's blood
When I first met Ruu and knew what he was doing, I said to myself, he will be sacrificed to the thunderbird isn't he? Funny how you can be right and wrong at the same time. Best side quest in GI (Emotionally).

For some reason this song (which is potentially AMAZING) reminded me of the Dragon Spine song, Genshin every day surpassing himself with his sonic songs, even though the song doesn't have a lyric per se. Even though the song doesn't have lyrics in itself, only yours still sounds incredibly beautiful
Funnily enough, the first half of Ruu’s song has the same basic harmonic structure as Moonlike Smile from Dragonspine. It goes to show you how Yu-Peng Chen can make two pieces from a similar framework and still make them sound distinctive and recognizable
This is the saddest yet best quest storyline in Inazuma for me. That baby deserved so much better 😭😭😭😭😭 Glad he got to fulfill his promise to Kapatcir in the end ❤
INAZUMA REALLY IS THE BEST REGION FOR NOW!! In terms of visual environment, diverse nature, cool mobs (Samurai, Ronin, Tsurumi Wolves), archon quest, story quest (especially: Ayaka & Yoimiya), world quest, lore, and character development. Change my mind!
@@vino-k5650 yeah it's debatable. But for me, Inazuma still my favorite overall even tho' the archon quest plot is sucks, it has many political conflict that makes the story interesting and there are so many action there clashing between 3 faction (the Shogunate, the Resistance, and the Fatui). Just bad at the execution
For me Liyue's main story is still the best, Inazuma one has no definitive conclusion and everything suddenly stop with no consequences, at the end of the day Baal doesn't show any charcter development after realizing her mistakes and just return to her "bubble" again. For visual Mondstadt is still winning, Inazuma is pretty but its color palette really hurt my eyes and I often need some break in the mid of quest because I felt a little sick if I play too long. But for world quest story wise, I agree Inazuma has the best.

I did a commission on tsurumi island and heard this as the background song... And I felt the nostalgia :'(..glad ruu can finally rest and I hope the traveler won't lose the feather as he/she promised
Remember that Ruu's death was horrible in one of the artifact sets (the thundering storm i think is called, idk but it's one with bonuses for electro) is mentioned and in the Chinese Version one part says that they cut his tongue
Since nobody is mentioning it in the comments here, Ruu and Kapatcir's story/tragedy is the story mentioned in Thundering Fury's Lore, I'll quote some here. Thundering Fury 1. Thunderbird's Mercy: "It witnessed the total decimation of the ancient tribe. They made their offerings, waiting for the Thunderbird to reveal the oracles. However, what descended with the Thunderbird, was the lightning of destruction. For the transgression against the young lad who sang to it, the sentence was total obliteration." Straightforward enough, the flower witnessed the tsurumi island's destruction, because they had sacrificed Ruu. 2. Survivor of Catastrophe "On one gloomy night, it shared a pure friendship with the lad. Once it departed, the lad picked up the feather it dropped. "I shall sing you another tune, When you come again with thunder and rain." Driven to madness by the remorse of a promise unkept, The Thunderbird left the mountain in cinders. It was hunted down years after, slain as a monster." Here I feel like this feather is actually the one we touched in the quest where we saw Ruu's first conversation and naming of Kapatcir, and the promise he made. Also the slayer of Kapatcir mentioned here seems to be the wearer of the Thundersoother artifact set owner, separate from Ruu. 3. Hourglass of Thunder "The Thunderbird decimated the tribe to avenge the one who sang to it. Unbeknownst the Thunderbird, the lad himself considered his sacrifice as an offering, All for the good of the tribe, for the blessing of the Thunderbird." Here is where the biggest misunderstanding is at. Kapatcir believes that they had sacrificed Ruu, but in actuality, Ruu gladly sacrifice himself. And he would gladly do it again for the next thousand of years. 4. Omen of Thunderstorm "In the seasons when the Thunderbird flew amidst the stormy mountains, a young lad sang without fear. Attracted to his voice, the prideful Thunderbird landed by his side. "Curious tunes, tiny human. Afraid not of thunder and storms? "They said I can bring peace to thunder and storms". ... It was the first and last meeting between the Thunderbird and the young boy. For the next she saw of the boy was when his blood filled the golden goblet on the sacrificial altar." This is when the actual sacrifice happened. We never got to actually see Ruu sacrificing himself or how the sacrifice works, but the description here explains it just enough for us to draw our own conclusion, for a child's blood to fill the cup to the brim as quick as possible, how large of a cut do you think Ruu had to suffer, and where that cut would be? and he did it again and again for the next thousand of lightning strikes. 5. Thunder Summoner's Crown "Until one day a song pierced through the roaring thunderstorm. The song ripped through the clouds, and bestowed upon it, light." It's more of a recollection of Kapatcir and Ruu's meeting again, but more about how Kapatcir changed her view of humans because of Ruu's song.
This was a really dark quest when you think about the ceremony ... but despite all that... you HAVE to admire Genshin's audio design. It's just stunning!!! This song, lantern rite ... its absolutely amazing. Bravo.

You know, when I was reading the Thundering fury set, at the same time, I played this song, and damn I cried ;-;
The freaking audicity of pain
Two friends got separated, Ruu and Kapatcir. They both died long ago. The promise had been made, yet finally Ruu can fulfill it
I cried because even though they died, Ruu still wanted to keep his promise. this song makes me can't stand crying.
When you realize that you've been redoing the Sabseruz festival Samsara quest for so many times, but forget most things so it wouldn't feel that long. But here Ruu is living the same event for who knows how many years.
mihoyo never fail to make me cry with the piano and violin bgm
KIMI DAYO KIMI NANDAYO
Ruu is officially my favorite NPC in the whole entire game. He's really adorable not gonna lie and his voice is soft and relaxing to listen to. I hope there will be a full version f his song so I can play it while I sleep in peace.
its sad that he had already passed away even before we met him t~t he was sacrificed and the island folks used his blood as an offering to the thunderbird, when all she wanted was to hear him sing :((( it also hurts more when the goblet in the thundering fury set was the cup they had used to store ruu's blood
i kept the feather he gave us equipped since this quest. he can travel the entirety of teyvat with us now
It's like an old friends union. Even after her death, the Thunderbird still remembers Ruu.
When I first met Ruu and knew what he was doing, I said to myself, he will be sacrificed to the thunderbird isn't he?
Funny how you can be right and wrong at the same time. Best side quest in GI (Emotionally).
the way i cried when he started singing and when the quest was over i literally didnt want to leave him😭😭😭😭😭
Ruu is the best NPC with the saddest story of all NPC in Genshin! This quest made me cry. Poor little boy.
But he and Kapatcir got to rest in peace in the end, that's just nice.
Two friends, reunited even after death.
Genshin did a good job and I think Ruu will stay in our hearts.
What happen can you summarize
From Thunder Summoner's Crown:
'Until one day a song pierced through the roaring thunderstorm.
The song ripped through the clouds, and bestowed upon it, light.'
Thats one long game you played, Mihoyo. And I loved it.
Christ, where were the writers who did this quest when Mihoyo was developing Inazuma main quest.
blame the toxic players who always demands new content or regions. they obviously rushed the archon quest to satisfy the community and beside this story has been hinted since the beginning of the game with thundering fury artifact set
@@iamthethebeginningiamtheen9555 yes it’s not the writers fault, it’s the pressure from the community that they have to released Inazuma earlier than their planning. i think this is also why they released the islands separately
At the 30 years old a game who makes you cry is very rare, when you're younger a lot of game scenes makes you sentimental, but since a lot of years i didn't cry because a game.
I dont care if Mihoyo takes his time doing content as long they continue with the quality.

Mirror Maiden: "Such a pretty song..."
I also noticed she below here 😂😂
I remember completing this quest at 2AM. Alone wearing my headphone.
The shivers and chill runs through my back. And then warm feeling burst out.
To think this game is free is somewhat unreal...
Cuz, I had to pay to watch movies only to disappoint me again and again....
Watching this is already part of my daily routine. This is still tearjerking, just like the first time I saw it.
*me when i started the quest:* mihoyo pls don't kill ruu
*mihoyo during the quest:* guess what, he's already dead
i will never recover from this quest
and exploring this island will be painful 💀
this had me fukcing bawling and sobbing in my room
That baby deserved so much better 😭😭😭😭😭
Glad he got to fulfill his promise to Kapatcir in the end ❤
I was so pissed that the clouds were coming back over and over. But now I feel like I haven't had enough
Change my mind!
archon quest sucks. otherwise 100/100
i give the whole region 75/100 cuz archon quest and raiden becomes an iffy character
@@Isyida7 agree!!! i enjoy inazuma world quest, music and exploration the most :))) looking forward to sumeru. hope the history wont repeat itself
@@vino-k5650 Yeah, can't wait for Sumeru 🔥
For me Liyue's main story is still the best, Inazuma one has no definitive conclusion and everything suddenly stop with no consequences, at the end of the day Baal doesn't show any charcter development after realizing her mistakes and just return to her "bubble" again. For visual Mondstadt is still winning, Inazuma is pretty but its color palette really hurt my eyes and I often need some break in the mid of quest because I felt a little sick if I play too long. But for world quest story wise, I agree Inazuma has the best.
The fact you also brought klee in this quest. My heart..
rewatching this.. now that i think about it.. it’s a good thing that there’s no voicelines.. or else my heart will break even in my dreams. it’s so haunting 😭
i was strong but the singing you had me crying, bro HOW FIRST TEPPAI NOW RUU WHAT IS THIS "EMOTIONAL DAMAGE ISLAND?"
This is by far the best boy in the game TwT
Why Mihoyo not making him playable? T^T
A 5 star character unable to fight. MHY is going out of bussiness real quick. Lol
Whales won’t pay for that

why you sound like someone else?
you sound familiar hmm
@@Kleexuni'm about to end this man's whole career
@@lin808 not sure if that is a guy/girl/attack helicopter tho
@@Kleexun Yeah but that sentence is taken from a meme.
Honestly, i literally crying my heart out with this story quest, for me now shall be my favorite..
Its stories like these that makes genshin so beautiful 😢
I actually heard this song after completing trying to unlock a domain north of Tsurumi before Ruu singing it.
the feels in this scene really brings a tear in my eye
0:20 Fatui Mage just chillin there doe.
"The story quest can't hurt you"
The story quest:
this one just hits different mate. this was even more beautiful than the sakura blossom quest. or the neko quest.
It started as an quest to find as source material for an novel, and the end, i cried thinkin of ruu, one of the best story after kazari!
Sayu is making jokes again
SHe has cut some onions and leave them around here (lays down in fetal position and cries)
This questline better than archon quest. RIP Ruu till we meet again 😭
i like to think that ruu didn't actually die, he's just sleeping for now and one day he'll have enough energy to travel with us. give me more of that copium now
i got goosebumps when i heared him sing this song... and i did this quest with my friends its so memorable
Ruu, you may be gone but you’re always alive inside our hearts forever ❤️💕
This quest is just.... perfection i literally cried 😭😭 (+ kazari's quest)
Kids are normally so hard to like in stories but Ruu is so sweet. I just rrally wanted the best for him
it sounds so calming but sad at the same time....
This quest is on par with SCR. I loved it. Makes me more angry to the ones who wrote the recent Archon Quest
I just finish this quest today ... the feels
Still crying when remembering this. 😭
Kazari, Teppei. Now Ruu. Inazuma is nothing but tearjerker. Ffs can you let someone be happy for a moment in Inazuma, Mihoyo!?
This, the Old Man and his sons in Liyue quest and The Cleansing Ritual quest made me cry so much that i couldnt even be happy when i got primogens...i was low on primogems at that time
Thankyou for record this, whenever I have a panic attack, this song calm me
I did a commission on tsurumi island and heard this as the background song... And I felt the nostalgia :'(..glad ruu can finally rest and I hope the traveler won't lose the feather as he/she promised
I can't take ruu's story it's really hearth breaking I don't know but I want to cry even though this is just a gamee
My tears dropping while im doing this quest ❤️😭
Same
Remember that Ruu's death was horrible in one of the artifact sets (the thundering storm i think is called, idk but it's one with bonuses for electro) is mentioned and in the Chinese Version one part says that they cut his tongue
this quest was so sad :(
Since nobody is mentioning it in the comments here, Ruu and Kapatcir's story/tragedy is the story mentioned in Thundering Fury's Lore, I'll quote some here.
Thundering Fury
1. Thunderbird's Mercy:
"It witnessed the total decimation of the ancient tribe.
They made their offerings, waiting for the Thunderbird to reveal the oracles.
However, what descended with the Thunderbird, was the lightning of destruction.
For the transgression against the young lad who sang to it, the sentence was total obliteration."
Straightforward enough, the flower witnessed the tsurumi island's destruction, because they had sacrificed Ruu.
2. Survivor of Catastrophe
"On one gloomy night, it shared a pure friendship with the lad.
Once it departed, the lad picked up the feather it dropped.
"I shall sing you another tune,
When you come again with thunder and rain."
Driven to madness by the remorse of a promise unkept,
The Thunderbird left the mountain in cinders.
It was hunted down years after, slain as a monster."
Here I feel like this feather is actually the one we touched in the quest where we saw Ruu's first conversation and naming of Kapatcir, and the promise he made. Also the slayer of Kapatcir mentioned here seems to be the wearer of the Thundersoother artifact set owner, separate from Ruu.
3. Hourglass of Thunder
"The Thunderbird decimated the tribe to avenge the one who sang to it.
Unbeknownst the Thunderbird, the lad himself considered his sacrifice as an offering,
All for the good of the tribe, for the blessing of the Thunderbird."
Here is where the biggest misunderstanding is at. Kapatcir believes that they had sacrificed Ruu, but in actuality, Ruu gladly sacrifice himself.
And he would gladly do it again for the next thousand of years.
4. Omen of Thunderstorm
"In the seasons when the Thunderbird flew amidst the stormy mountains, a young lad sang without fear.
Attracted to his voice, the prideful Thunderbird landed by his side.
"Curious tunes, tiny human. Afraid not of thunder and storms?
"They said I can bring peace to thunder and storms".
...
It was the first and last meeting between the Thunderbird and the young boy.
For the next she saw of the boy was when his blood filled the golden goblet on the sacrificial altar."
This is when the actual sacrifice happened.
5. Thunder Summoner's Crown
"Until one day a song pierced through the roaring thunderstorm.
The song ripped through the clouds, and bestowed upon it, light."
It's more of a recollection of Kapatcir and Ruu's meeting again, but more about how Kapatcir changed her view of humans because of Ruu's song.
This was a really dark quest when you think about the ceremony ... but despite all that... you HAVE to admire Genshin's audio design. It's just stunning!!! This song, lantern rite ... its absolutely amazing. Bravo.
I'm not even embarrassed to admit that I cried like a little bitch when playing this quest
my deepest regret is rushing over this. zhongli is right. I solemnly vow to finish my journey without rush enjoying every single moment for the future
when i came back to the island to finish the exploration progress, the background music just change to the ost version
i nearly cried because of that
I am crying with this song is so beautiful
This quest broke me. Gave me trauma. I haven't set foot on tsurumi since i last finished the quest. I just can't make myself go.
I'm literally sobbing
I teared up on this scene. It was so beautiful
Imagine your pick a favorite ant.
Then next day the "elder ant" decided to burn your favorite ant to make you happy.😂
i am not crying!!
*Sobs* 😭🥺
For me All side quests in inazuma was way better than the main story quest idk why hahaha
Every time i see Ruu I start to cry
My precious little friend
You'll be remembered 😢
After that, we're free to rampage the abyss monsters!
The audacity of miHoYo to not dub quests like these. I still miss kazari.
After how many days... I still get teary-eyed T_T
bruh i can't hold my tear's after finishing this quest😢
Goodbye Ruu, we shall see you again
Just like kazari's quest....the song was very suit to put in kazari's quest I think
