I make my own gel too but keep the pulp to mix with my night facial moisturizer that I keep in the fridge. I put the gel in silicone large cupcake/muffin mold and freeze overnight then pop them out and put in freezer bags. One or two of these is enough for pre-poo treatment once every 7-10days. Such a smart peeling technique! Do you wash the aloe at all? I only ask because my leafs have been making my face itch and I'm wondering if it's the yellow sap or maybe my plant is bad Thanks in advance if you find the time to reply 🌵
There is nothing wrong with your plant! Idk why most of these diy homemade aloe recipes either leave out or don't know of the pre-soaking step that's basically the most IMPORTANT STEP BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE with the aloe vera plant. And it's not a hard or long process either. There are tutorials explaining this too, but I'll tell you as well, since I'm not the type to tell someone, "Oh, i know how, but you'll have to go way over there to find that out for yourself!" Lol...that part😊 So.... 1. Take aloe leaf (or leaves) carefully and trim off the spikey edges. Cut 1/2in to 2in sections. 2. Place sections in a non-metallic container, bowl, or cup and fill with water. 3. Soak for 30min in the water. 4.After soaking, drain the water, rinse and repeat the steps again! Easy, right? I think only one soak is needed, but im weird about things being thoroughly done, so i repeat the process just to make sure all that yellow sap is gone. The sap has a name, which i forget, but it's considered to be poison. Not the type of poison to kill a person, but it can cause diarrhea, and other (minor) health issues. It actually has some benefits when used correctly, so maybe that's why a lot of videos don't explain that part or don't even know that aloe could be soaked prior to it's use. Hopefully you found a solution by now, and didn't give up using aloe. I myself am still learning and researching not just with Aloe Vera, but practically any plant, herb, and natural home, health, and beauty remedy to make living life easier, healthier and less expensive! Take care, and God Bless🙂
kamilah beaty Thats very kind of you. Well I thought the yellow sap is healthy 😳 You said you are researching on any herb, I suggest why not you upload your diy videos. That would be helpful to many of us just as your tip of soaking did here. Thanks 😊

What if your blender leaves no pulp left at all, and every bit of it slides through the tights into your jar?? 😅 Also, do you keep saving the tights pieces for future use?
People talking about soaking it to get rid of the yellow liquid don’t realize that this kind of leaf, the bigger ones don’t really have much of the liquid.
@@jodyann77 No I am still waiting but I did read online that as long as it is strained well you can use it after you shampoo and depending on how often you wash your hair once or twice between. I also found out neem oil is an excellent preservative and is a potent antifungal, antipyretic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. Neem also contains vitamins C and E. Neem oil does have a strong odor so use it spareingly.
You can use aloe like any gel and leave it in, but I prefer to rinse it out (it’s sticky and dries crunchy)! Not to mention you’ll need to blend it in fine particles if you have any pulp because you don’t want those clumps in your hair! You’ll probably have to brush a few times if you get any chunks in your hair. I have thick hair, so it took two-three brush throughs.
I would love to try neem oils in the aloe, but I'm afraid, because it smells like old bacon fat. I once put it on my hair and couldn't get the smell out. It took like 4 washes, and even then, I would catch a whiff of it at strange times. It was actually kinda tramatic. Lol!
@ itsthis chick I am using it now and the smell is not an issue. The thing is you can ONLY use 2 drops for every 1 ounce. That ratio has been perfect for me.
Aychux thanks for watching! Hmm, not sure. Honestly I wouldn’t use refrigerated homemade aloe Vera gel that is past two weeks old. You can try freezing it to make it last longer.
Delirium Delirim I do not know where you live. To get rid of armpit smells is to used the vinegar allum. In some Asians ( Country ) PP using it after every shower. I garantee the smells will be gone for ever..! Rubbing it on wet armpit for 20 -30 time. I,m doing it for 30 yrs. look for it in Asian grocery stores. Try it. It,s works
warda jannat the Ice Cube's can last almost a year in the freezer especially if they are covered up with some sort of plastic wrap and then aluminum foil and then placed in a large plastic zip lock bag with the air sucked out with a straw...
Love the video how concise your instructions are! I know there are various species of aloe plants. I have a huge plant that I have kept for several years but am not sure of the variety. The leaves of my plant look similar to the leaf you are using but is a bit rounder and fuller. Is it okay to use?
Hello 👋 thanks for sharing wonderful video. The gel that you have made it can we keep it in refrigerator more than 2 weeks? Or as you can said just for two week
thank you so much for this video..I will make mine but you add vit-c/e oil in the last part on gel and if I don't add anything in my gel(only aloe) ,is it okay?? or what else can I use??like any capsule?
Wash the peeled chunks at least 3 times (better 6 times) using water and discard the washed water. Use only the well washed pieces to avoid any poison. It may be better to soak the pieces in water for 30 minutes and then discard the wash water.
thanks for this. I read somewhere that Aloe Vera has a toxic yellow substance when you cut it, and it is important to avoid the yellow substance. I've had mine resting on paper for about an hour. I will soak them now.
I advise against using your nails for removing the juice. Nails have tons of nasty bacteria under them! You don’t wanna put that on your face or in your body.
Can this final gel be used to make hand sanitizer since so many stores are out of hand sanitizer due to Corona Virus? Many like myself are making our own and had a hard time finding Aloe Vera gel! I wonder is the shelf life just as good compared to store bought A/V gel for homemade sanitizer?
Hello, I'm I loved your video and will be subscribing. Question though... To preserve it in the freezer do I follow your recipe (including essential oils) and freeze that or do I freeze the raw aloe and water mixture? Thank you in advance. Also, how often do you use your mixture on your hair?
Essential Oil? That sounds nice! I’m thinking ‘Tea Tree Oil’ for the scalp & hair. Great video. Just watched another video & she added vitamin E oil. Said it helps to preserve the Aloe. Maybe a couple drops of vitamin E oil And a couple drops of Teatree oil? Is that safe to do?? Any thoughts? Thanks. Jackie
You know what it’s also easier if you use a potato peeler to peel off the leaf . that what I do. Did you clean the aloe vera made sure there’s no more poison in the Aloe vera before you made your gel???
I don't thing the bitter yellow stuff is poisonous...? However, the previously suggested idea sounds great of soaking in water first to remove yellow bitter stuff, I'll definitely try this. I also used either a veggie pealer or a cheese peeler for side 1, then just push my finger through the exposed gel to clear gel from side 2 skin.
Add coconut oil, castor oil, Vit. E. capsule to the gel in a Nutr Bullet. You don't have to strain it because the machine will do the mixing for you. Massage hair with the mixture. Either wrap hair with a warm towel or a heating cap (electric) for thirty to forty five mins. Shampoo hair to get the oil out and style your hair. Once per week is OK for me. My hair feels very soft and looks shiny. Good luck. I assume you are referring to your hair? For your face, try using the gel alone.
If you add Citric Acid (Vitamin C Powder), it’ll preserve your Aloe Vera Gel/Juice for longer. Citric Acid is a natural preservative. You can get at Whole Foods. Just a tip! 👍🏾

Does it have to be a glass jar? I was wondering if a spray bottle or lotion bottle would work?
People talking about soaking it to get rid of the yellow liquid don’t realize that this kind of leaf, the bigger ones don’t really have much of the liquid.
Hello. What does this aloe Vera gel do for 4c Hair?
How do you use it.?
Do you advice un tropical rainy climate?
Thank you
the pantyhose method is useful when making homemade flaxseed gel too.😍
I hope you answer: After I make the gel can I leave it in cold place not in fridge? or it should be in the fridge?
So when you use it in your hair do you have to rinse it out? And can you use neem oil instead of vitamin c and or e?
I'm wondering the same thing.. Did you ever get a answer for this question hun?
Can we use vitamin E oil alone for preservation? If so how long it can be stored in refrigerator?
Thank you for getting right to it and not adding unnecessary stuff lol Blessings all over your life✨✨✨
is this good for dry skin...an do let me know whether i use it as it is or shall i add essential oil in it.
Hello and thank you for this informative video! I was wondering if the aloe vera is still usable after it's become very watery?
Aychux thanks for watching! Hmm, not sure. Honestly I wouldn’t use refrigerated homemade aloe Vera gel that is past two weeks old. You can try freezing it to make it last longer.
@Ley H if u jave thw whole plant.. With multiple leaves.. Just make it as needed.. So ur plant still have leaves. Cut 1 leaf at a time
@@TheSexiiladii217 isn't it too much to cut a leaf every week?
What do you use to clean the stove top? Thank you!
This video was perfect just wut I needed n u did a great voice over job so clear, smooth n perfected
Thanks you very much :)
If collect distillate from a still to aloe Vera, when become a liquid ,can use for the best to skin or other things, please let me know ?
aloe vera is known for its strong smell, how do u get rid of the armpit smell?
Delirium Delirim use lemon everyday
Ive noticed he smell goes away after a few minutes of applying it. Unless I've gone nose blind to it lol 🤔
Try it. It,s works
Great video! What app do you use to allow you to record this long and do voiceover??!
If i make ice cubes with that jel. How long can i preserve it?
warda jannat Hey! I'm not exactly sure how long. But it will help preserve. I would say two weeks maybe?
6 months
I have had mine in for about 4 months at a time. You will notice when it's time to throw it out when it changes color. It will tend to turn brown.
warda jannat
the Ice Cube's can last almost a year in the freezer especially if they are covered up with some sort of plastic wrap and then aluminum foil and then placed in a large plastic zip lock bag with the air sucked out with a straw...
I've done it the way that I mentioned and since I removed the air it was close to one year...
do u use the gel in the liquid form or wait until it solidifies and use it?
Love the video how concise your instructions are! I know there are various species of aloe plants. I have a huge plant that I have kept for several years but am not sure of the variety. The leaves of my plant look similar to the leaf you are using but is a bit rounder and fuller. Is it okay to use?
Love the way you separate the jell from the level thank you for sharing I have learned something new today
Did this make anyone’s hair grow as well?
I use this on my eyelashes and it's made them grow like a weed
Josalyn how do you apply aloe to your lashes?
Dip clean mascara brush into aloe mixture
Umm is it okay if I don't put the vitamin c thingy cause i don't had one???
The easiest method I’ve seen so far! Thank you for sharing!
thanks for watching!
Hello 👋 thanks for sharing wonderful video. The gel that you have made it can we keep it in refrigerator more than 2 weeks? Or as you can said just for two week
Where can i find the aloe vera leaf from ? I definitely want to try it!!
Many grocery stores have it and Hispanic supermarkets.
Grocery stores. Got mine from Whole Foods.
Grow it, it's easy
Yeah growing is really easy and it feels nice to grow something and see it get big and healthy. That's why I got into gardening
thank you so much for this video..I will make mine but you add vit-c/e oil in the last part on gel and if I don't add anything in my gel(only aloe) ,is it okay?? or what else can I use??like any capsule?
Wash the peeled chunks at least 3 times (better 6 times) using water and discard the washed water. Use only the well washed pieces to avoid any poison. It may be better to soak the pieces in water for 30 minutes and then discard the wash water.
thanks for this. I read somewhere that Aloe Vera has a toxic yellow substance when you cut it, and it is important to avoid the yellow substance. I've had mine resting on paper for about an hour. I will soak them now.
Hi you mentioned that the preservatives are vitamin C oil
How much quantity of oil is needed to apply in that jar?
Great info.
Thanks for the tip about using our nails instead of a knife.
This made it so much easier.
I am Glad I ran across this video.
Be Blessed...
AKIYIAKELLY Thank you! And wishing blessing back to ya!
@@jamilania9230 Thank you..
I advise against using your nails for removing the juice. Nails have tons of nasty bacteria under them! You don’t wanna put that on your face or in your body.
If I don't have a blender can I just whisk it? Or it won't be the same
Loved this! Was looking for a zero-waste hair gel alternative and this seems to work great!
I would freeze it raw. Freezing it is a way of preserving.
Does aloevera outer cover harm if we mix with gel please reply
Really great. I haven't tried it yet but my daughter has and she loves it. Loved and Subbed.
Thanks.
Jackie
I loved how you separated the outer shell from the gel, I have been cutting mine and scraping it out with a knife and losing a lot of pulp
Regarding preservatives, I have a doubt, what is the quantity of vitamin C & vitamin E oil to be added
You don't even have to blend, sit it/ store in the fridge a day or two, will breakdown into liquid.
It's awsm mam, it's the best way I have got.what is the name of this aloevera actually?
You know what it’s also easier if you use a potato peeler to peel off the leaf . that what I do. Did you clean the aloe vera made sure there’s no more poison in the Aloe vera before you made your gel???
Ariana Verdugo-Khan Using a peeler is a good idea. Thanks for the tip. And yes, I definitely cleaned the leaf thoroughly before cutting it. 😊
+fuck the yellow gel
fuck the yellow gel is poison. If u every used it on your face before soaking it and your face starts itching that's why
The yellow gel is not a poison lol.. it's a laxative, very healthy to eat it for detoxing and diets. But yes it can irritate your skin.
Can we store aloevera after cutting leaves from plant in fridge???
You are doing it the hard way! Just scoop it with spoon that’s all!
That works well too but I think this gets more of the gel out
Can this be used for gargling and natural deoarant? I been buying n using aloe plant, since January. It's Really Gd for gargling the entire month.
I can’t be bothered to do this straining business lol 😂
So helpful. I made some last night but added too much water. You helped clear up the process for me. Thank you 😊
That’s some thick ass aloe Vera
Thank you Mam 👌👍🏻 can we use tea tree oil in it , I am having oily skin which essential oil should mix with this gel
@@shirleylambert4923 Thank you very much Mam ❤️ from India 🙂
When she was holding the tights and puts it in the jar I was like “GURL DONT 😱” but then it’s clean so it was a relief. I almost have a heart attack 😂
