    I bought moschino toy boy after I tested it a few weeks ago. And I bought it for the same reason... people were saying too much stuff about it, that is unisex, that it smells like roses, etc... And yes... its not easy to wear specially if you dont like roses or you are used to masculine woody fragrances. Its a fragrance that takes some courage to wear, but if you can pull it off, its a 1000/10. Its now my signature fragrance!

    I've been playing around with a few different signatures recently, and i've really become fond of Armanis Stronger with You, I know its a popular choice, but that wintery scent that has what i think is sort of a sweet fruity or rum note to it plays really well on my skin, lasts me a long time too for the price! • @kensears5099
    @kensears5099 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    I'm a 64-year-old newbie, only really having gotten into this just a year ago, around February. Before that I was virtually a non-fragrance-wearer EXCEPT for L'Occitane's Eau de Vetyver, which I adored and would be closest to a signature scent for me except that I only spritzed it on quite sporadically, most days going non-scent. It was when I discovered to my horror that Eau de Vetyver was discontinued that I embarked on my late-life fragrance journey, getting my education in intensive mode from TH-cam reviewers (4-5 I really enjoy). And now...no, it is too late and there is far too much to be discovered for me to have a signature scent. Over this year I've compiled a modest palette, perhaps 20-25 fragrances that all delight me in wonderfully diverse ways. I just can't bring myself ever to wear the same scent two days in a row. I'm infatuated with the variety, with taking a moment each day to ponder which one is today's "me." I won't bore you with the full inventory of my little palette, but for example it ranges from CdG Rouge (and the other intoxicating beet scent, Diptyque Kyoto) to Guerlain Vetiver to Mont Blanc Explorer to Geo. Beene Grey Flannel to YSL La Nuit de l'Homme to Guerlain L'Homme Ideal Extrême to Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum to TdH Eau Intense Vetiver. (Yes, I'm wild about vetiver.) And about a dozen more. Too much fun trying them all. So, no, no time for a firm signature scent.

      @breq54 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same here! My experience with fragrance tracks almost exactly like yours except I began exploring scents about 2 years ago. I went from not even knowing what vetiver was to my current obsession with it. I also can’t imagine wearing the same fragrance 2 days in a row. I love wearing a different favorite scent each day because each one provides its own sensory experience and I crave that diversity. Thanks for sharing your story!

    Great material as always Omar. But some your choices seems to be a bit controversial for me. I don't personally own Aventus but I tried that fragrance, it seemed to be a different group compare to Dior Fahrenheit. In my opinion they both are refined (ignoring the fact that I personally don't like Fahrenheit) Aventus is definitely more complex in my opinion. I agree Bleu Electrique is very functional, but it is a reworked dna of La Nuit de L'homme - a masterpiece.
    It is also quite unique oriental, seductive cardamon note blended well with sharp lavender, also with nuances of Tonka and starts with fresh classic bergamot opening. Maybe Bleu Electrique is a bit modernized by Pepper note, I haven't got deeply into that perfume yet.
    Your material is always professional and really pleasant. Best wishes from your biggest fan!

    I totally understand and agree with your points made in regards to Dior Fahrenheit. It's a favorite scent of mine for winter and although Dior scents are even available at drug stores, it's either a scent that complements my DNA well or it's just not as popular as other scents here in Chicago, but people around me seem to recognize the scent and identify it with me - in a good way. It's the same with Guerlain's Vetiver. I'm not sure why none of the fragrance "gurus" here on TH-cam ever mention it.

    2 videos ideas I think you’d be easily the best fragrance reviewer for:
    1.) Definitions and examples of all these words like toilette, parfum, eau de (apparently eau de parfum and parfum are different), cologne, siillage, sport (I think this generally means a clean soapy fragrance). As a newb I can kind of guess what these words mean. But I don’t really know. All I know is when I was in young teens (late 80’s) and looked a little at fragrances, I thought women wore perfume and men wore cologne. But I’m looking now and apparently that was wrong,
    2.) The role of natural ingredients. In food (which I’m much more familiar with, as are most people), using natural ingredients has a lot of benefits, flavor and health wise. In fragrance, they only seem to complain if synthetics are “overdone”. Is it that simple? Natural ingredients also don’t seem to perform as well as synthetics. What’s weird is you go to a perfumer’s web site for a fragrance a reputable reviewer has said is all natural, and the perfumer doesn’t even say anything about being natural. Being new to fragrance, I’m tending to look toward natural fragrances. But is it really nearly as important as it is with food? Are fragrance people just more shallow than food people and so they don’t care about natural? Being more concerned about how you smell vs how you eat does seem more shallow.

    I think I’m gonna go with xerjoff Naxos as a signature. Won’t work in dead of summer but it’s versatile enough and I just love it too much.

    Ever tried Bussma from Arabian Oud? You must be tired of Baccarat Rouge 540 dupes by now, but I own it and the baccarat rouge and Bussma in my opinion is the best fragrance I've ever smelled, it's definitely my signature scent 🔥

    Amazing video. Got a question/ video idea. Does an signature scent build character or make you smell repetitive. Arent you losing out by wearing the same thing to office,club,etc

    Multiple times I'm told Xerjoff's Alexandria II smell exactly like me (or the other way around), but it's a bit expensive as a signature scent. 🤔

    Oh, and One Million Lucky seems to be... well, it is seeling /sold out at more than one store for 50% off. Just this week I have bought two bottles of it, the stores seems to be clearing out their stock of it. If you want a new bottle of it, now might be the best time, rather than perhaps never.

    I have over 80 fragrances. If I had a signature scent it would probably be Cedrat Boise, Bond No.9 Lafayette St. , Killian Angel Share or Dior Homme Intense/Parfum. See I can’t pick one. 😂 At this point is about my outfit and my mood for the day. Just thinking about wearing only one all the time gives me a headache. Love the theme though. Looking forward to another rate your collection video.#NoPressure 😅

    I 100% agree with you on Black Orchid Parfum. I’m still figuring out my signature scent. I really like PDM Herod but it’s too expensive to be my signature scent 😅 I’ve been enjoying Blue electrique a lot lately, such a beautiful scent.
