Did the Owners Just VANISH? Forgotten and Abandoned Resort!

If you know what this motel is called or where it is, please keep it to yourself. There are people out there who would love to go to a place like this to either trash it or steal things.
This is one of those locations that really had no information about it anywhere that I could find. I was unable to find out why or when it closed but I suspect it may have been around 2018 since there was a calendar hanging on the wall from that year. It didn't have particularly bad reviews, they were all about average.
Upon walking into the hotel, it looked as though they had left everything behind, about half of the rooms were still set up and almost ready for the next guest that never came. There were bed linens and pillows piled in the recreational room along a pool table, air hockey and foosball tables. The dining room had its tables and chairs still set up and even had table numbers sitting atop as if they were preparing for an event.
Near the front door were some tools and supplies, outside a small pile of brand new shingles. It seemed as though they had begun to renovate the motel or at the very least repairing the things of most importance. With the outdoor swimming pool looking very green, I wonder, where did the owners go, did they just vanish?

Great vlog james just shame it couldnt be used as mother child housing or retired or injured vets or homeless so it breaks my heart see it empty stay safe on your travels
Glad you enjoyed it Faye and thanks a lot for the comment!!
Great explore!!! I love those round chairs also, lol, guess we are showing our age. I wonder if the owners started to remodel the place, then Covid hit so they walked away...I'm excited to see that your channel is growing!! Congrats!!
I think you could be right about the pandemic possibly changing their plans. Thank you, the growth is exciting and it's thanks to my followers like you KMF, it's appreciated!!
This would have made a great homeless shelter or home for displaced Veteran’s. What a waste!
Thanks for commenting!!
Yeah, too bad things like that don't happen. It's all about the money and greed.
That's what I was thinking!
I agree
It would be cheaper to build an entirely new complex I would imagine
You did a wonderful job on finding this place James 😁 Great work on these videos too 👍I love them all ❤️
Glad to hear it!
You are welcome James 😁
Hi James : If I were ever to visit that place , and saw all that STAINED bedding , I would be the last person to lay my ass down on a bed there .Hope you were wearing protection ,when you did it !! All those fake plants were screaming TACKY but I'm sure most of the clients , who were renting rooms by the hour ,had no interest in the decor !!Wow , you're up to 15 K subs .Keep up the great work !
Ya, that's why I decided to lay down on the covers, figured they may be a bit cleaner. Although maybe not, who knows. 😆 Thanks John, it's exciting to see the channel growing and it's all thanks to my loyal viewers like you!!
That's exactly how places like this close. One day the workers show up to work, and there's is padlocks on the doors with signs saying closed. It's happened to me a few times. The employee is always the last to know. It really is a fine balance keeping a big place like this open and thriving, the up keep cost is huge! And like a lot of these older resorts, the people that once use to come kind of age out and stop coming. Without customers, there's no money to do the badly needed improvements, so places like this succumb to time
Oh most definitely, hotels have a lot of overhead and if anything happens that changes the number of customers, it can have long lasting effects. Thank you very much for your comments!!
This is a really cool find James! If I was there, I would have wanted to go out and buy a pack of Cigs just to make that Ashtray feel worthy again and also a roll of quarters to play that Pool Table! It's so awesome to see places that are abandoned and that haven't been trashed yet! I truly hope it stays like this til Your next visit. Keep up the great work! and stay safe out there.👍
I will have to return so that i can play that pool table! 😆 Glad you enjoyed it DC and thanks for the comment!!
Sure I've seen this before with someone else but great to see again. Loved your funky music, I have a salt lamp it will flake and turn white if left in damp conditions. Love the retro chairs excellent video thank you
Oh ok, so the salt deposits on the bowl were they supposed to be there?
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment!!
@@StaticSpaces yes due to the damp conditions. It normally would not be sitting in a bowl it has a light in side that heats it and it then it supposed to make negative ions. There is no scientific proof to support it but they make great night lights! Love mine.
Oh cool, thank you for the explanation! I thought the salt deposits seemed weird and out of place
Such a tiny pool, for all of those guest rooms…
It wasn't huge but you should see the pools they are putting in modern condo buildings, they are much smaller. Thank you very much for the comment!!
I have seen this one before and it still makes me laugh. Once you get up to the 1st level of rooms they have ramps for people with mobility issues but in order to get into the building you have to climb stairs and when you get inside you need to go up more stairs to get to the check-in desk. No wonder they closed, the layout isn't the smartest.
Thanks for the comment!!
Interesting🤓 You wonder why people say how wasteful we are. You’d think the tables, chairs, bed frames, stuff like that could have been sold in big lots. Once the mold starts everything is ruined. I don’t know if you were alone, but it was kinda creepy in there. Thanks James. Stay safe
Ya, there may have been extenuating circumstances and who knows, maybe they will return one day to finish the renovations. I was with a friend but i didn't find it very creepy, but more relaxing and exciting. Maybe it's because I have been doing this a long time. Thanks for the comment CK!!
@@StaticSpaces I comment on your video and your Instagram
Hi James, I thought at first you were recording from your hotel room lol. This is a huge question mark isn’t it. I also love the moon chairs (not their name, me making up a name) I love no one trashed it. I am however wishing , like some others that this stuff could be donated before nature and mold claim it! Thank you So much! Loved it.
Hahaha, ya not quite, i rarely stay in hotels, usually just sleep in the car. I believe they are called solar chairs, you can still buy them but they are expensive, at least in Canada anyway. Thanks for the comment Pat!!
Part of me feels like with the shortage of housing, or even seniors' homes, that something like that could be done with this. I don't think it would take much to repurpose these.
Definitely a possibility, we will see what happens in the future. Thanks for the comment!!
So nice that you had a chance to crash there first to get the ambience of the place! Sorry that we woke you up!
Hahaha. Thanks Bill!!
Really cool 😎👍 nice find it's to bad it was left alone
Glad you enjoyed it Jerrold and thanks for commenting!!
Hi James! Interesting place. The furniture definitely could have been given to charity or something. Think those older wooden chairs were nicer than the ones they had sitting out which just looked cheap and boring 😂 At least the wooden chairs had a bit of character to them. The big boxy TVs in the rooms were surprising to see if it only closed in 2018. Definitely seemed like the place needed updating.
I know some hotels auction off their old furniture and stuff when they close or renovate but you will never see me buying a used hotel bed! 😂 The owners may come back one day finish what they started, who knows. Thanks for the comment Stephanie!!
@@StaticSpaces well you definitely wouldn’t reuse the mattresses anyway, although if you go to stay in a hotel you don’t know who else has been sleeping on the mattress. Yuck 😂
That's a very good point and why i am not a big fan of hotels in general! 😂
@@StaticSpaces I have only stayed in a hotel once in my life and that was one night at an airport hotel as I was catching a flight early the next morning
Oh Wow! I may not particularly like them but understand they are a necessary evil when travelling.
BEST INTRO EVER!
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks very much for your comment!!
seen this place about 2yrs ago from another explorer but there seems to be a bit more stuff in the lobby area now. those coiled nails at the entrance is for a roofing air nailer and i see roof vents so there might be roof renovations started at some time , not a lot has changed still nice to see new footage, yes that was a can opener in the kitchen area.
Ya, there are a couple other people that have been there in the past. There were also shingles outside so i do think they were going to replace or at least first parts of the roof. There were only like 3 flats so they wouldn't have gone very far! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment!!
Thank you for another great video and I’m loving this too 😁I bet this place is huge James 😎
Glad you enjoyed it Fawn and thank you for commenting!!
No problem James ☺️
Rise and Shine JH. You got some Urbexing to do. I hope you had a great sleep. Sorry for the rude wake up call.
This is an another awesome explore. But for the love of all things you laid on that bed. Bed bugs could be present. Ewww. Hahaha too bad no heart shaped tub. Big Hugs JH
🎉🍾Congrats on 15k subs🎉🍾
Hahaha. Heart shaped tubs would have made this location so much more amazing. Thanks for all your support Kimmy, young along with my other viewers have helped me get there!!
2:23 I just saw that same dresser in another abandoned hotel video in TX. Must be a hotel furniture must have.
Haha ya, there must be a website that all hotels order from. This place is a long way from Texas. Thanks very much for your comment!!
Eu amei ❤️ a paisagem muito linda 💞 hotel também muito lindo ❤️ um lugar maravilhoso parabéns pelo seu trabalho ❤️
Thanks for another great video James. So nice of a place. Just wish that it could be saved from being demoed! Would be so nice if they could turn this into something useful that just sitting waiting to rot. Thanks for sharing James. Your doing a great job. Take care and stay safe. Much love and stay blessed. Love your content and your videos you bring to your channel🥰🤗😇❤✌👍🙏
I doubt this one will be demolished in the long run, it still has a long way to go before it rots beyond repair...we will see what happens. Really glad you enjoyed it lisa and thanks for the comment!!
@@StaticSpaces Your welcome James. Have a great day/night😀
Interesting place and nice find. Like some others have said the block work is quite depressing and prison/hospital like. Whole hotel has a cheap DIY feel about it but even this basic place has enormous running costs, it's mind boggling what it would take to rebuild or renovate to a higher standard in 2023 and make it a viable business. Feel sorry for the people working hard to run places like this yet get snowed under with rising costs.
Ya, a lot of schools have this same type of construction in this area and TBH i have always hated it. Lol You are absolutely right though, it's a tough business to make it in, especially when they have the added costs of costly renovations or a complete rebuild. Thanks for the comment!!
😂I like the intro.. I love those orange retro basket chairs (1972 Solair chairs). That place may have been nice in its' day, but it's pretty much done unless someone wants to sink in a load of money. Such a waste of so much stuff.... sad
Glad you enjoyed that intro. I agree with you, the hotel industry is a pretty big waste of resources but thats because they have to upgrade the decor like every ten years. I would imagine everything they replace gets thrown into the garbage. Personally, i would prefer a retro hotel to a modern one, as long as it was clean that is! Thanks for the comment!!
The salt lamp is a health beneficial for those with different lungs and other issues example is cystic fibrous. Very interesting place
Great, thanks for that! Glad you enjoyed the video too!!
Rise and shine James time for the Static Space .
😆 Thanks for the comment Will!!
Please provide an update if anything has changed.
I haven't been out that way in a long time, so no news. Thank you very much for your comment!!
I've always wanted a resort feel it would be perfect for retirement but really want one in woods or on a beach
Keep looking, I'm sure you can find one eventually. Thanks very much for watching!!
This motel have a lot of potential in it either for renovations or a farm resort also can be made as studio apt depends on the owner it’s quite a big place🎉
Most definitely, it's probably not the end for this location, i bet it will reopen one day. Thanks for the comment!!
I'd be interested in this resort to buy and take over see if I could make it happen
So cool.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment!!
It would take so much money to update this place, I'm surprised it made it to 2018 at this state.
I can't imagine trying to compete in the hotel industry, having to update your decor every decade or so, it would make it hard to make a profit. It may have closed earlier than 2018, I'm not too sure, there wasn't much info about the location. With all that said, i quite liked the retro paint choices in the rooms. Thanks for the comment!!
Wow, what a cool ashtray. Too bad there were no roaches in it.
I wonder if this resort was seasonal and they were trying to renovate during the off season and ran out of cash. Also, the cement brick walls give it more of a prison vibe!
You could be right about that but they may come back to it one day to finish the job, who knows. I completely agree with you about the cinder block walls. A lot of the larger buildings, such as schools and libraries were built this way in the mid 1900s in this area. I have always found them depressing, almost like you said, feeling like a prison. But that is the unfortunate reality of Canada, we are not known for our architecture, with a few exceptions of course! Thanks for the comment Matthew!!
This is art. You will hear a buzzer. When you hear the buzzer, stare at the art. [BUZZER]
Not sure what you mean?
Basket chairs?
Seems appropriate! Thanks very much for the comment!!
Who owns all the stuff in the hotels why do they leave all the stuff when they close
The same people that own the property and building own all of the contents as well. Sometimes they plan to reopen in the future and could be why things are left behind. Thanks very much for your comment!!
With all the homeless veterans we have this hotel should be used for that!!!
Thanks for watching!!
I was waiting to hear " Heressss Johnny "
Hahaha. Thanks for the comment!!
Hi James 👋 Sorry I’m watching your video late I was spending time with my mom on her birthday she just turn 66 years old 😁 And she doesn’t have internet either 😳
No problem Fawn!
Thank you James you are awesome 😎
Roofing nailer ..nails 😊
Cool, thanks for the input and makes sense seeing those shingles outside. Thanks for the comment Moe!!
i actually did read in spiritual prophesy messages somewhere that people will vanish at end times, the ti mes before future paradise earth, so to be raptured safely away while a time of problems happen that are dangerous to need to escape from i guess or whatever, so yeah maybe like this viddeo title says..
may be happening
Thanks for the comment!!
Big piece of wood it's called a fireplace mantle most fireplaces have one not all are quite as beefy but yes most fireplaces have one of some sort
Yes a mantle, i do know that term. Thanks for all the comments!!
Just guesing, the calendar was 2018. Maybe started renovations, covid struck - end of plans, end of resort :(
Great find though
You could be right about that. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment!!
They must have ran out of $ before they got it up to code to re-open.
That's a good point never thought that maybe it needed to be brought up to code.
Did ya' see any bedbugs?
Nope, it was actually a fairly clean place considering how long it had been sitting. A little dated of course but i bet a lot of people enjoyed staying there.
If this is the place I believe it to be it has been closed for quite a few years I have seen vidio before and can not believe the vandals have not gotten to it
I think it's been closed since at least 2018 but not entirely sure. I'm glad it has remained relatively pristine over the years. Thanks for the comment!!
That last comment what I meant was rock salt light it was good for your health they say it helps detox the air in the room and bring health benefits whether it does or not I don't know I have one and I'm still not sure what it does but be a night light
Hahaha, the "benefits" of things like that are often overexaggerated.
Coach parking would have been for buses , ones that were tour buses.
Ya for sure, just thought it was a bit out of place which is why I mentioned it. Thanks for the comment!!
Is there a tax lien against the property?
Don't think so. Thanks very much for the comment!!
It's a Himalayan Salt Rock Light.
Thanks for the comments!!
It's called a salt light AJ is good for health it's good for detoxing summer rose with
Ok cool, thanks for that info!
All these abandoned hotels could house the homeless
Can't you just see who is paying (or isn't paying) the property taxes? They (or a Google search of them) should be able to provide the back story.
I guess in theory depending on how much time and money one wants to spend doing that. It's not an easy task in this area. Even when you have a name to go on, more often than not a search turns up nothing. Sometimes there is nothing wrong with a little mystery that surrounds a property. Thanks for the comment!!
Well I'd need know where it is to check tax history
It's a Himalayan salt lamp
So it's just for show then?
@Static Spaces they are great for rooms for a lot of things. Mood, anxiety and so on
Oh cool! Thanks for the comment!!
GREAT💥NAP...😴 😅👍💯💥
Haha. Thanks for the comment!!
How very strange.
Thanks for the comment Jan!!
I saw a Sasquatch.
Hey all those blood stained things means the place had BED BUGS GO LOOK IT UP
That's a good point, didn't know that. I just figured it was from people having nose bleeds. Thanks for the comment!!
I comment on your Instagram today you forgot this one a wheel chair
Ok cool. Thanks for commenting Derek!!
@@StaticSpaces did you see my comment on Instagram
🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼🤗
It's Always interesting to See a New Spot and it is a good Video but it is unfortunately inevitable it will BE recognised by some degenerate who will Bring His Friends Up there and start the process of ruin.its Always the Same Case. They have to employ Security to keep the place in the Same shape.
Well let's hope that doesn't happen, I'm not the first one to post this location. Glad you enjoyed it though and thanks for the comment!!
@@StaticSpaces Just wanted to say that I wasn't making a dig at you.Its Just in General its Just a question of time before some lowlifes find this place and destroy it.Thanks for the Video and Take Care. All the best
All good, i didn't take it personally. I agree with you, it often happens whether or not these places are posted by explorers. I just try to do my best to not give away too much info and hopefully protect them, at least a little bit.
himalayan salt lamp
Thanks a lot for your comment!!
Play pool at a bar and on my phone.
Cool!
Interesting and kinda creepy it's really 80's style the ashtray the banquet room with the tiny bar and game room funny what we thought was entertaining,👣🌞
Things have changed since then for sure but to be honest i still quite enjoy pool and air hockey. Thanks for commenting SD!!
Laundry basket chairs
I think they are officially known as solar chairs
It is so beautiful I love it nose spray paint at all that's the way it should be
Yes I agree, all abandoned buildings should be as pristine as this one! Thank you very much for your comment!!
Why do homeless people tear up and destroy everything that's beautiful please keep this location a secret
Homeless people that sometimes occupy abandoned buildings do make a mess but they are not the only ones. Sometimes it's scrappers tearing out the copper, or kids breaking things or covering the building in graffiti. It is very unfortunate. Thank you very much for your comment!!
