I make little decal-like designs that I save for later. I draw them with nail polish on a page of plastic (like a scrapbooking sleeve,) and it dries nicely and stores on it, too.
I have been wanting to try this since last year but, I'm older and don't have a steady hand. So I've been saving for the stamping plates and polish for the tropical nails and finally gave it a go. It took me two hours but my nails are absolutely GORGEOUS! Thank you!
I just started stamping two days ago and I’m obsessed. Trying out reverse stamping. It’s going ok but your tips will definitely help. Also great idea to wrap the dotting tool with tape to get rid of tiny stamp spots!!!!
Along with the beginner and troubleshooting tutorials, I was able to do a reverse stamp - I'd never done any stamping before. The only thing I didn't like about stamping was how it was challenging to come up with a nice, artful composition on my petite and short nails. I'll definitely have to practice this.
Reverse stamping is a bit harder so congrats on your first try! Just keep going, it's just practice. I also have short nails and sometimes it's hard to make it work but that's when creativity has to show up haha 😅 thanks for watching ♥️
I'll put another color over a sheer color (usually white) to make it pop. I love the idea of putting the bonder in the image itself. I always smear it on the nail.
This is SO pretty! You are very talented. I hope that many more people see your video as it is top quality! I'm going to try to imitate what you have created but with other stamps and colours. Thank you for posting this!!
Thank you so much! That's so sweet of you 😊❤ I'm glad you found the video useful. Have fun stamping! Thanks for watching and take the time to leave a comment ❤
Hi guys. Don't forget to leave a thumbs up if you like this video! 👍😊Do you do reverse stamping often? Which is your favorite and least favorite thing about it? Thanks for watching ❤ Please note that this video was made over a year ago when I still supported Maniology, I don't support the brand anymore. Check the description for other brands information 👍
@genskitchenmagic2957 Hi, it's a bit of a long story. I'd recommend you google "Maniology controversy" and you're going to find a lot of info to read about this topic, if you're interested 👍
Hi. Is the transparency you put over the design simple nail polish or gel polish? Because I can't figure out what it is exactly?. Thanks. your video is very helpful.
Hi! I'm glad you found the video helpful. It's sticky base coat, I used "Orly bonder", you can also apply it entirely on the nail and then, transfer the image 🤗
@@matsel3294 I don't use dip powder on my nails and I don't know much about how it works, so I couldn't answer that. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful 🥰
Hi! Do you mean using base coat to create a decal? It is possible to use any clear polish but if it's fast dry, it's going to be a very stiff decal and very hard to apply. Thanks for watching, I'm glad you found the video helpful.
I'm not sure as I always use regular nail polish. I imagine that the decal will get very stiff after you put it on the lamp. The good thing about nail polish is that continues to be flexible when you transfer it on your nails. I don't work with gel so I wouldn't have more details. Hope it helps ❤️🤗
I did a mix of gel and lacquer. The base was gel. That worked great because it has a sticky layer. Then the stamping was done with stamping polish. I did a no smudge top coat, followed by a gel top coat to extend the wear.
Hi, i have orly bonder, and ive tried it with stamping and for decals. I cant get it to work. Is there a technique like apply image right after brushing on bonder. Or let orly bonder dry 1 minute / tacky and apply stamped image.
Hi! If you are applying Orly bonder directly on your nail or in the reverse stamping image, you have to let it dry between 30s-45s and then stamp. If it's wet, it's not going to transfer properly. I haven't tried it for decals yet. I hope it helps 😊👍 thanks for watching 💚
Hi! I'm sorry to hear that, it could be many things. Did you remove the protective film? Sometimes it's clear and difficult to see. It could also be that you're scraping too hard or too many times. I did a video on nail stamping troubleshooting with many tips to make it work even with regular nail polish. I hope it helps! 🤗 let me know if you find the issue. th-cam.com/video/7R4wb7aIdLQ/w-d-xo.html
Your stamper is not the reason why the image came out all messed up. When you peeled it off, you needed to let the clear coat completely dry before peeling it off the stamper head. I think all you needed to do is let it dry a little bit more.
Hi! Yep, it was an example to show what it could happen if one of those things happen: if the stamper is too sticky and the polish is not fully dry. Sometimes it could also be because you're pulling too hard 👍
I have been stamping for almost 10 years and this was by far the most helpful, honest and well done tutorial. Beautiful set!
Wow! That's really sweet, I appreciate it 😊❤ thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment!
I never knew you could paint ahead of time and save to apply later. This was an awesome video!
Thank you so much! You can totally do it to save some time. I'm glad you liked it 😊

How would you do this with UV gel? Do you cure it? If you cure it, will it damage the silicone of the stamper?
