Just got the "news" my eldest daughter has a partner. I am so happy that she has someone who adores her, respects her and that they just really like one another. Admittedly it will take some time to adjust due to cultural conditioning but I am grateful that the love in my heart for her far outweighs judgements.

I have 4 kids and 13 grandkids and people don’t stop loving their kids no matter what, unless they never loved them anyway and I’ve seen that. My mother never loved her own kids and I had an uncle that his kids hated him. Awful. You can’t make people love you, and if you criticize them and call them names like racist or Nazis or queers then they might hate you, they sure won’t help you.

It is interesting if you go back to a talk from one of your prophets of the church you attend he clearly speaks against being gay or being.lesbian. l had to deal with youth in this same church who bullied one of my daughters for having mixed skin. In particular one girl wrote her a letter and told her that because of her skin color she was of the devil. This has stayed with my daughter to this day.love yourself no matter what others think or say and make a success of your life like my daughter did. On the other hand, RAPE of one male by another was rampant in biblical times and that is what the verses are referring to. Regardless, Leviticus and much of the old testament is chock full of so called "sins" that most Christians just choose to overlook. They also forget that Jesus fulfilled the law. If you're saying that we are to this day to obey all the laws of the Old Testament (which more than 90% of Christians are not following), you are saying that Jesus failed at fulfilling the law. Do you think he's happy that you are calling him a failure?

I think each individual is free to live/her life as he/she pleases, as long as you don't hurt others, which wouldn't be the case in gay people. Being that I was a Mormon, I just don't understand all she says because the church does not permit people of same gender to marry or anything of the sort! So, I think it's great that she thinks like that, but it goes "AGAINST" her religious beliefs, and her daughter must not be an active member. Too they didn't ask her about that...

i don't think she cares about what her faith have to say it's the matter of accepting loving your children despite their sexuality. she is a caring parent who will love her kids no matter what even if their faith isn't accepting of it she is willing to.

Marie has been asked in other interviews about her daughter being gay & if it goes against the religious beliefs of being Mormon & she always puts her daughter before the religion, she totally stands by he daughter....In one interview, she was asked what would her own mother have made of Jessica being gay & Marie said she believed her mother already knew it & loved her anyway. Religion shouldn't have anything to do with who you love/ fall in love with
Marie Osmond l am with you as we should use love not fear. It is interesting if you go back to a talk from one of your prophets of the church you attend he clearly speaks against being gay or being.lesbian. l had to deal with youth in this same church who bullied one of my daughters for having mixed skin. In particular one girl wrote her a letter and told her that because of her skin color she was of the devil. This has stayed with my daughter to this day.love yourself no matter what others think or say and make a success of your life like my daughter did. In the church you attend they sing the song love one another, and that is what we should do despite the differences. Thank you for speaking out Marie, maybe you saved a childs life by doing so.

You don't have to be an expert to have an opinion, but when an opinion is treated as fact, and everyone else is wrong, that's where the problem lies. Unfortunately, too many unsubstantiated opinions are treated as facts, even though no facts are involved.

She wouldn't be a good Mormon if she didn't love her daughter. We don't have to all agree on what choices are right or wrong in society, but those who claim to be good Christians will remember what Christ said, "A new commandment I give unto you that ye love one another as I have loved you." He didn't say everyone agree. He did say, love thy neighbor as thyself. Christ is the perfect example.

Please quit trying to twist the scriptures around to make it look like God said being Gay is O.k. Read your bible, in Leviticus. It reads Homosexuality IS an ABOMINATION of Gods law.
I'm not twisting anything. I am pointing out that regardless of what you believe, that as a good Christian, you are still required to treat people as Jesus would have treated them. That's pretty straight forward.
Denis Hardy The Bible's passages were written about same-sex acts between heterosexual persons, and do not address the subject of homosexual acts between a committed gay couple, because the concept of a person being a homosexual did not exist at the time the Bible was written. On the other hand, RAPE of one male by another was rampant in biblical times and that is what the verses are referring to. Regardless, Leviticus and much of the old testament is chock full of so called "sins" that most Christians just choose to overlook. They also forget that Jesus fulfilled the law. If you're saying that we are to this day to obey all the laws of the Old Testament (which more than 90% of Christians are not following), you are saying that Jesus failed at fulfilling the law.

She got smart and realized the truth. Being gay is not a choice. The same way being hetero is not. You just are, and that's it. Apparently that is just too simple for some minds to understand.
I think each individual is free to live/her life as he/she pleases, as long as you don't hurt others, which wouldn't be the case in gay people.
Being that I was a Mormon, I just don't understand all she says because the church does not permit people of same gender to marry or anything of the sort! So, I think it's great that she thinks like that, but it goes "AGAINST" her religious beliefs, and her daughter must not be an active member. Too they didn't ask her about that...
