- David Osmond was honored by The National MS Society at their annual Dinner Of Champions event and received "The Spirit Of Life" Award.
His uncle, Donny Osmond, attended to show his support for David, and surprised him by pulling him up on stage to sing a song together. A song they both knew very well! Any Dream Will Do from Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. David was Donny's understudy as JOSEPH, eventually taking over the lead role for many years. - เพลง

Donny is very devoted to David his nephew family is important to the Osmonds
How fun to see the playful relationship between Donny and his nephew David. They are both so amazingly talented!

When I was 12 and had a crush on Donny, it was the 5 boys, (eventually learned about Tom and Virl) and then a bit later, Marie became a country singer, and "Little Jimmy Osmond" as he was called then became the new sensation for the little girls with his "Long haired lover from Liverpool". Never cared for him then, still don't, but I'm amazed at all of their offspring, still the boys far outnumber the girls, but most of them are able to sing like their dads, and I wish we had more songs like theirs instead of any rapper. I don't like that crap at all. Nathan Osmond has a couple of songs I really love because they're about our military and their sacrifices.

Starting to give me chills the more I watch it. :) Love how guiding and nurturing Donny was as an Uncle. It is obvious that kid is in love with his Uncle and vice a versa. (or however you say it)
I will never understand why they cut David from American Idol. Baffling. That kid can sing his face off.

I am three years younger than Donny so I grew up with the original Osmond brothers
Jay and I are the same age.
I can remember being a teenager and getting to go to an Osmond's concert in downtown Detroit. I'm sixty four now. I feel so blessed to have the Osmond's be a little part of my life and my heart.
Susan Rivard I was there too in Detroit at that concert. It was on my 13th birthday and my first concert ever.
That entire family is gifted! Hard working and very gifted!
Awsome. David sounds like perfect understudy for Donny in Joseph. You can hear the Osmond sound in his voice. I can tell he's an osmond and Alan is his dad and Donny his uncle. Don't think I have ever heard of an Osmond that couldn't carry a tune and sing. Guess good looks, voice, and all around talent is in their genes.

There will never be another Osmonds like the originals. Original of anything is usually the best. There are loads of Osmond children, and no doubt grandchildren, so it isn't surprising that they will crop up from time to time. I'm waiting for a "sleeper" that's in the background and one day comes to the fore. Will probably be a girl. It's hard to beat the polished, relaxed presentation of someone who has been in the business a long time.

This video to no end cracks me up. I'm kind of curious when David says age before beauty and Alan is asked into the fold by Donny what Alan's reaction was. Guessing he was like i resemble that comment. Lol. Donny must be a perpetual prankster/jokester.

Great singing by both with the Osmond magic. The talking doesn't annoy me because Donny and Marie did it in their variety Show and still do in Vegas. It works for me. I also watched the Dean Martin Show and he also threw everything but the kitchen sink into his songs. He could have just sang the song straight with his Golden voice, but he chose to joke around. Lots of the Old School Country Stars joked around when singing duets like Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. It made the song more dramatic and made the artists more like ordinary real everyday neighbors. Thank you for posting this video!
Well and also hand to me it looked more like Donny was trying to get David started and David was thinking "Umm NOPE!" LOL Love the mental picture that David gets nerves in Donny's presence and then to picture him rocking and rolling with Marie in Atlantic City. David must think that Heaven/Nirvana = unnecessary because this = IT! I mean but seriously as I said a post above at the beginning He talked about how did anyone want to listen to him and then He said (as Donny said something about signing first and David backing up that He would sing first but would Donny back him up ala David trying to "give off confidence" not realizing that Donny was giving him the edge. I don't think this talking was a "planned speech" as much as Donny trying to settle David's nerves. Maybe I am reading what is not there but I am just following their train of thought and as soon as Donny said "I'll start singing first.... David said "will you dance behind me" ala I am not going to be in the spotlight no way JOSE!!
I agree with all of your comments. It is always hard to tell when they are joking or if it is just part of "the act". Amazing talent though!
I saw your comment and I agree wholeheartedly I just don't think this is a "gig" for them at all. I have seen a couple of clips where David is fully fully fully full capable to just "start" David just looked NERVOUS to the nth degree. How could you think this was planned unless you at all aren't watching David's non-verbal guestures. Seriously he was trying to avoid running the other way and LOL it all starts with Donny offering up a loving guesture of that he was going to be embaressing David. LOL! Donny is such a goofball, but listening well enough to Donny on this clip too you realize you are listening to someone trying to save face with David. Ya know? How could David sing in front of major entities in the USA and Abroad and get nervous around Donny? Part of it is probably knowing this is the man who (along with his father and all his other brothers and marie) rocked him to sleep in his infant onsies so many years ago. They seem like bonded friends for life and I am so glad to be aware of David now a days as well as Donny.

Apparently I was living under a rock and David was on idol this past couple of times ago. I watched a ton and gave up on it and got into other stuff but yea it is sweet seeing them together. Donny is such a kidder at heart but I also a genuine heart of an uncle that is dying to be respected and is doing everything in his power to get his nephew's admiration. And seeing how he cared for him as he struggled at the end with the timing is beyond sweet! Donny osmond may be older but still is tlnted.
