My first brand new truck was an ‘88 Superliner with a V8 and a Mack 18 speed with a 4+4 spicer behind it. I used it for heavy haul delivering Cat Generators out to the copper mines in New Mexico and Arizona. Best truck I ever owned. It would pass anything but a fuel stop.

KUDOS to you and all of the truckers out there for putting up with all of the crap out there. I don't do it now because of the constant runarounds, the inflexible hours of service laws that prevent you from making any money, lack of respect from DOT, your dispatchers, and the public at large, WalMart taking all day to load or unload you. I could go on forever. The problem with when the trucking industry was deregulated umpteen years ago was that the "suits" were deregulated and yet the drivers became overly micromanaged. Anyone see anything wrong with that picture???

There is an old Mack DM800 flatbed truck at the 3 : 48 minute mark;along with an old Mack CH dump truck,and an old White/Volvo.These are the trucks that have helped build America,and should be preserved for future generations to enjoy through the ATHS.

The first time I ever drove a truck was with my brother-in-law. he had a mack cab over. While we were driving down to Florida he asked me, have you ever driven one of these, I said No. He said well you better learn quick, he jumped in the sleeper while we were moving and I had to jump over the dog house and drive it! Scared me to death. All I could see was my ass wrecking the damn thing! I made it to the Ga line where I pulled over before the scales. From then on he taught me how to shift and drive it, It was the best time of my life!!!!!!!!!

Once it gets down past 65 degrees it’s cold to me and the older that I get, the more I despise cold. It just seems to intensify the aches and pains that come with getting older.

@David Henry I’m not big into supplements but there’s one that I have taken for some time called Zyflammend that helps with inflammation. It’s no miracle cure but it does help and has no negative side effects.

When I use to haul trucks and equipment on my rgn I would often times have to remove the front wheels. I made a cradle that held the front axle to the deck of the trailer out of some 12"x6" steel channel that I welded some adjustable uprights that had a vee for the axle to sit in.

Badass Mack ya got there! Too bad you didn't have time to hang out in the area. The Blue Ridge Mountains are beautiful and there is some great scenery out there. I live in Norhtern VA just a few miles from DC. I ride out to the mountains all the time out there on my motorcycle. It is some breathtakingly beautiful riding. I snow you are a rider as well and when you get some time, you should hop on the bike and ride them. VA, MD, PA, NJ, and NY, any of those portions of the Appalachian Mountains you can't go wrong. (I'm also a Jersey boy, born and raised like you but glad I don't live in that screwed up state anymore). Anyway, keep up the good work and keep her greasy side down driver! (I also was a truck driver, traveled I-81 many times in a cabover pulling doubles for Roadway Package System now known as FedEx ground)

I spent 48 hours at the LeeHi due to the customers unloading equipment breaking down... I was delivering rolls of paper to a newspaper and it took em that long to get parts.. nice truckstop in early 06. Awesome food

There's a real nice Superliner cement mixer that I've seen running around Houston a time or two the past year. Can't remember the outfit's name, but it's a clean truck especially for working in construction.

Steve hope you went in and seen all the old toys in there or they was couple months ago they showed me the best window cleaner there is it's ammonia and a washer fluid mix it will clean all the grime and bug guts everything but safe travels and keep the video's coming
