    Helpful video! Struggling between Pulm/CCM vs Cardiac Critical Care. I really like ICU but my concern is that if I get tired of ICU I am not sure what my back up plan is.

      Thanks for watching! There are many options for "back up plans" if you don't want to do ICU forever or get burnt out. First you'd want to consider if you want to continue clinical vs nonclinical jobs. There are a plethora of options for non-clinical (although they do not pay as much as bedside intensive care). If you want to continue clinical, telemedicine is an option. Virtual ICUs are on the rise and I suspect there will be a huge demand for this in the future. Also, some healthcare systems are considering opening post-ICU clinics which would be staffed by intensivists. There are many different career paths within the world of critical care!
