this version takes an emotional ballad, takes out most of the production, and what is left is such a raw, sad and confessional ballad. "When you're young, you run" repetition is so haunting. I think this is my favorite from his version of 1989

This song was absolutely perfect at the end of episode 11 "Nothing Gold can Stay" on Containment!! Really sets the emotions for the very upsetting scene with Katie and Jake😭. Based on the comments the show is what brought most of us here. Im a few years behind apparently but i watched it on Netflix for the first time a year ago & just finished it again, loved it!!
