Regarding comments about fit: I have fiddled with them often, to Samsung's specifications, and I didn't perceive much of a change in the ANC (which is to say, it's good, but not at the level of certain other earbuds that I've enjoyed). Maybe my ears are a bit weird; regardless, I stand by my assessment that the ANC on the Buds Live aren't bad, but they're definitely not at the level of some (admittedly more expensive) alternatives.
The Buds Live don't suppose to be in the auditory canal, it supposes to rest slightly out anchored to the cymba concha. In this position the ANC doesn't make a difference. If you puch it to the canal, it improves a lot, but feels weird. Samsung should have made the speaker section long to fit in the canal. I am still debating if keep my Buds + or Lives.
Nice review, really apreciate it but The way u put that bean into your ear, the position, its wrong. If you flip and makes the rubber fit in upper side of ear, trust me, the experience will different. I also user "bean" and made this mistake in my first weeks.
Going with the black Buds+ once they're released in the states. That battery life/quick charge is just too clutch for me and I still have the bullets 2 or jaybirds for working out anyway
I have mine and I'm loving them, I got them more so to take calls on my Note and the music sound is just what I need. In this day and time filtering out surrounding noise is not safe. So Right On Samsung! Thanks JV
I agree, they need to add ambient sound control and maybe a little more customization of touches so that you can do volume up/down and anc on/off. Both are important options. I really like these, I had the Buds+ but when these came out I got them and it wasn't long before they became my go to. I love the comfort and the sound. Hopefully Samsung can fix these small issues with a software update.
I like to walk while listening to music so open design earbuds are perfect for me. I currently use the Huawei Freebuds 3 more than my Airpods 2 but I think those Galaxy buds may be better than the 2 other brands so want to try them out.
Your going to like them. Nice fit in the ear, very comfortable, LOUD, sound awesome. And you can still hear what's going on around you. If there on standby. I own them.
At first I didn't like them because I didn't put them on correctly but after fiddling with them I now know how they go in. The sound is incredible I use them for six hours sometimes I forget that they are in my ears.

These sound perfect. I have an AKG n60nc and they are perfect. Having the same effect in a smaller form factor is so amazing. Also the fact I hate earbuds that go into my ear. They never fit properly and always are uncomfortable after a few hours. I am genuinely super excited about these. So I know why some would be disappointed, but for me personally they sound like Samsung made earbuds specifically for people like me.
I purchased these buds after listening to your review and I never imagined them to be so good..atleast for the minimal needs I had..and after trying the typical ones..this one's really good Except for the fact..they were a little larger than what I had thought it to be..even then it's quite comfortable in the ears for a long time..thanks to u for this detailed review

I'm sold! I don't need the utmost sound quality when I'm commuting to work. It's not the time I concentrate on sound quality as that's done at home with a full setup. If these are as comfortable as you say they are, then they've built a winner!
just got them. Moved from jabra 75t. Love them. Big improvement. Super comfortable. Great sound. I like Normal setting, over Dynamic. Didnt notice much difference with ANC turned on. Cant compare since I didnt have buds +
I found them more comfortable than Beats and the sounds was better too. The only thing I found kind of an issues was tapping the beans was hard sometimes to find the right spot and noise cancellation doesn't really work but a click or two on vol up and all you hear is the music. Great product.
I really wanted the buds live but once I heard the base has been compromised, no way. Samsung will probably release the next version of the buds live with a in ear canal build.
Some of us cant use the in cannal ear buds..these cater to that market. Personally I hate the feeling of the suction in my ear and my ears are soo small inside that even the smalleat tips fall out. Theres a reason Apples normal airpods are open ear not suction. The pros are suction for better sound. Samsugs buds pro have the suction so they are catering to different markets. It wouldnt make sense to make these with the in cannal because the buds pro and + lines are already servicing that market. I think these are ment to be more niche anyway.

@Wallo Swallo Ears aren't made of solid bone. The Buds Live will stick out if you apply pressure to the ear, such as when you lie down on the side. Until there is an earphone that sits completely inside the ear canal itself, no earphone will be comfortable to wear in this scenario. Both in theory and in practice. Trust someone who owns the 2019 IconX and listens to asmr every night.

I dont want in-ear buds, I want to hear my surroundings and not get hit by a car. Not being in-ear sound isolating also helps with balance, especially for someone like me who skateboards, it really screws u up when u cant hear your suroundings.
just got them. love them, even if i have 1 ear slightly smaller, i just fiddled around and get the small one in its better placement. i can't wear the in ear buds, as they sort of slide out of my ears, even with the smallest silicone tips. these stay in, and really don't move, very comfortable. i agree with the person who said that finding the place to tap them is kind of fiddly, but i get better with time, getting used to them i guess. But if i put my phone in my pocket, i find that they are iffy on the bt signal, just as if i walk away from my phone. they lose the signal in less than 10 meters distance. the sound is great tho, and the people i talk to hear me really clearly. all in all, a great buy.
Theres a lot of mixed reviews on these but I think I'll pick up a pair... I prefer the open type just because of comfort. I have the original galaxy buds and I love them but I cant stand having them in for too long, it just gets too uncomfortable so I'm hoping the buds live will be a good answer. Great review 😄😄

I love the Beans. Week ago I struggle driving with any other buds or headphones. There will be painful ear canal after 1 to 2 hours or issues with cables. With the beans i can listen to my GPS directions , give voice commands and the best one --- no pain for long periods of time . With heavy Ish use i can listen for ruphly 4 hours , That for me is 8 hours driving - because I use 1 bean at any time ...... actually thinking of the Beans i can use them infinite amount of time .
You aren't wearing them correctly. You forgot to twist them upwards. There is a difference in ANC performance if you don't twist them. I noticed this with my pair

Thank you Joshua. I have the OG Buds with my Note 10 Plus. I was able to get the Buds Plus for $99 so I will use those until I get the Note 21 Ultra next year and see what the Buds Live 2 are like.
I have Bose QC earbuds and Sony MX3 and I can’t wear them as my ears have a immediate reaction due to in ear silicon. Now, I’m using those earbuds and I’m fine, no more issues with my ears canals. Samsung, did an excellent job with those earbuds !

flacko001 yeah, they fall out while doing such ex like planks, mountain climbers, hand stands, burpees (after 10 reps or so). basically when you are upside down or moving up and down constantly for some time (they don't fall out in running or usual exercises as such). But I would like better seal if possible

I am using a non-samsung phone....the latency is quite simply terrible. Almost unusable for phone calls. Also quite bad on my new gaming PC. Other than that I love them for comfort, sound quality and battery life.
Really good observation on these earbuds. Almost all reviewers have been giving bad marks to Samsung for this version of the buds specifically surrounding ANC. I believe Samsung may have intended to create this product with normally expected ANC but realized it wasn't going to be possible due to the design. At that point, they had to come up with something to spin their marketing approach. Thus there explanation of this type of ANC. Just my thoughts. Thanks for creating this video. Bro, I cut grass with these on and didn't notice any bass drop off one bit. I use a volume boosting app (called volume booster in Google play store) and this app literally makes them sound like completely different earbuds when it's working. Sometimes the app shuts down in the background and you'd swear you were listening to some cheap headphones. But I start the app back up it's right back to crystal clear banging music.
I often said that comfort is as important a feature as audio quality. What good is the best sound if you can't comfortably wear the buds or cans to listen to it? These Samsung "beans" seem to do a good job at both. Thank you Joshua, a good and honest perspective...as usual.

I love my galaxy buds as a detailer we use air to get water out of cracks and dust out of carpets, the buds provide noise blocking instead of thoes yucky squeeze things you put in your ears. Im excited by the lives, but i think they won't block out really loud noise where you need ear protection. My current buds plus block loud noises without ear muffs. So im excited about the lives ?
So to say if I was using the buds + as a ear protection device, will these lives stop ear damaging loud noises. I dont think so as it dosent have the tip. Can condone comment?
I agree so much that I wish they had swipe controls for volume. I often wear just 1 bud at a time and would love to be able to swipe for volume control like the Pixel Buds.

ANC in these is just more of cutting the baseline hum of the environment, helps a bit but it is nowhere the head-in-bucket feeling like QC-35. The sound, if you wear them properly is fine, consumer headphones fine. I find it hard to say more than that, base is enough there to make edm fun and there isn't any weirdness going on. To me main selling feature and why I got them was the amazing bean look, almost like jewellery and the comfort of your ears not being penetrated and nothing sticking out of the ear (helmet). Sadly they had such massive connection issues that I could not turn my head while wearing them because they would drop signal. I hope replacement will be fine.

The card20 are very comfortable for that. They are the world's thinnest.

There's a gaming mode in the Labs setting that definitely helps. Latency for video content is at a good enough low
I am using a non-samsung phone....the latency is quite simply terrible. Almost unusable for phone calls. Also quite bad on my new gaming PC. Other than that I love them for comfort, sound quality and battery life.
Really good observation on these earbuds. Almost all reviewers have been giving bad marks to Samsung for this version of the buds specifically surrounding ANC. I believe Samsung may have intended to create this product with normally expected ANC but realized it wasn't going to be possible due to the design. At that point, they had to come up with something to spin their marketing approach. Thus there explanation of this type of ANC. Just my thoughts. Thanks for creating this video. Buds+ or Buds live?
Bro, I cut grass with these on and didn't notice any bass drop off one bit. I use a volume boosting app (called volume booster in Google play store) and this app literally makes them sound like completely different earbuds when it's working. Sometimes the app shuts down in the background and you'd swear you were listening to some cheap headphones. But I start the app back up it's right back to crystal clear banging music.

I often said that comfort is as important a feature as audio quality. What good is the best sound if you can't comfortably wear the buds or cans to listen to it? These Samsung "beans" seem to do a good job at both. Thank you Joshua, a good and honest perspective...as usual.

I love my galaxy buds as a detailer we use air to get water out of cracks and dust out of carpets, the buds provide noise blocking instead of thoes yucky squeeze things you put in your ears. Im excited by the lives, but i think they won't block out really loud noise where you need ear protection. My current buds plus block loud noises without ear muffs. So im excited about the lives ?
So to say if I was using the buds + as a ear protection device, will these lives stop ear damaging loud noises. I dont think so as it dosent have the tip. Can condone comment?

I agree so much that I wish they had swipe controls for volume. I often wear just 1 bud at a time and would love to be able to swipe for volume control like the Pixel Buds.

Would you maybe compare these to the pixel buds 2020, I am torn between these two devices...
ANC in these is just more of cutting the baseline hum of the environment, helps a bit but it is nowhere the head-in-bucket feeling like QC-35. The sound, if you wear them properly is fine, consumer headphones fine. I find it hard to say more than that, base is enough there to make edm fun and there isn't any weirdness going on. To me main selling feature and why I got them was the amazing bean look, almost like jewellery and the comfort of your ears not being penetrated and nothing sticking out of the ear (helmet).
Sadly they had such massive connection issues that I could not turn my head while wearing them because they would drop signal. I hope replacement will be fine.
