When I was a kid I wanted a '94 Performer for my birthday. My grandpa surprised me with a '95 Pro Freestyle Tour non team. Switched the bars with Power lite 4 piece bars. Rode the stuff out of that bike on my quarter pipe and flatland. Miss those days.
Love hearing stories like this. One of the reasons why I do the videos. I have a 95 pro freestyle tour frame and fork in the waiting list to be restored. Just need to find a few more parts and order the decals. . Subscribe if you havnt already so you sont miss it. Thank you
Glad you liked it! And the wait is over. Or has it just begun for the pro freestyle tour and the slammer to match. That's a good idea with them both together. I'll do it at some point. Thank you for your support
Hey nice job dude! If your ever looking for new production licensed Dyno or GT seats with the wing logo. Porkchop BMX has them in every color. I found this out over at Rad Bmx builds channel.
That chain and bottom bracket ended up way too tight... But overall good habits though for everything else. That acid bath came out great! Nice resto. That's work to be proud of!
Thank you for the comments. I'm proud of them all. I've always over tightened the crank since I was a kid as they always worked loose in a week. Love the acid baths. Brilliant results for minimal effort.
Such a rad restoration with some original components!! GT all around! As true of a GT that can be. Love that you stayed with the one piece cranks like we used to ride. Do you ever sell any of your builds?
Couldn't agree more! I tried to find as many period correct or GT specific parts. I dont sell them. Creating a little museum if you like. Thanks for watching . Pssss . More GT and dyno builds coming soon.
Thank you. Yes you did indeed see a mongoose. Sadly not a real DMC. It's a hooligan I stickered as dmc in the late 90s. I will be putting it back to a hooligan at some point.
Hello friend, im restoring my GT ans i will like to know where to get the sticket kit you install on this video? Where to get them? Part # please thank you
Hia buddy what a great video from start to finish , I have a question to remove rust do you ever do the foil and water technique or does it create micro scratches and that’s why you use citric acid ? I need to get started on mine, Thanks in advance
Hi thanks for the comments. I have a video on the tin foil method. It works well if the rist isnt too bad. I use citric acid as it's cheap and you can let the frame stew in it. Once it's done , the rust will come off with a gentle brush. Hope that helps 👍
Great job! I’m about 90% through my own GT performer rebuild and this video really helped. Where did you get the decals from? I can’t find any in europe… thanks!
That's great news with your build. Tag us in some pictures on Instagram, would love to see it. I'm in the UK and got my decals from perfektDecals on facebook. They are based in Germany and the quality is spot on. Thanks again for watching and the comments.
I remember mowing a lot of lawns one summer to get a GT Preformer. I loved it.
Thank you for watching. Glad it brought back memories for you.
Great job bud another one saved
Glad you enjoyed it . Got a few more to save

Wow amazing built man. You had me waiting for ever for this video. Love it. 👏🏻. I want to see it together with your Vertigo.

Thank you for stopping by. Also thank you for the sub. More videos will be out soon.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it ago next time. Thank you for watching.

What is the model of that rear brake? Will it fit a 99 Dyno Compe?
Hi its an Odyssey pitbull 1 . Yes it mounts onto the normal brake bridge but if you have a u brake it wont fit.
Where did you get the decals from I am in the process of doing my 95 performer also!
Hi I got them from perfektDecals on Facebook.
Nice job where do you purchase the original parts for the break rotor
Hi. Thanks for watching. I use ebay, facebook marketplace and buy donor bikes.

@@whitewellybmxrestorations already been in touch. They look pretty good. I’m actually in Germany so pretty straight forward for me too.
What brand are those tires ?
Hi the are Xposure - Dave tyres. Dont know if they are still available.
Beautiful bike but I always hated that seat stem
Thank you for watching and the comment. I prefer the laid back posts when the frame is shorter. Stops me knocking my knees on the bars.
@whitewellybmxrestorations bmx certainly evolved over the years. Many quirks including no brakes and handle bars that barely had any bars 😅
I want one! But I'm old and my ass is fat now compared to a kid
They are still out there. These GTs are stringer than you think. Re capture your childhood.
Wouldnt navel jelly take those chrome spots off?
We dont have it in the UK but thank you for the suggestion
It will melt those spots away look into it. Love the bikes remind me of when I had mine.@@whitewellybmxrestorations
