Robby singing 'The Hourglass Song' from the 1973 classic-'Jeremy' The song is also referred to as 'Blue Balloon' This version is missing a section about the Carnivals and clowns, but there are others posted on TH-cam that have it. This version was taken from the end credits of the movie and include beautiful orchestral interludes.

I got to meet Robby once, back in '91. I was at Disney World and was at a cast party for Beauty and the Beast and got to meet him and his wife and child. Very nice people.

especially the camera movement the first time they were together..... As far as comments regarding his voice- the lack of polish makes more real to me. The film was very real and unique- the voices of Robby Benson and Glynnis O'Connor should be appreciated the same way....

I just rewatched this hauntingly beautiful film after what must have been thirty to forty years. It still made me cry...The clothing, hairdos and glasses might be dated, but the feelings expressed in it are timeless. Thanks for posting Robby Benson Scrapbook!

I bought the LP 28 years ago in a record store called "The place to find the hard to find record" in West Hollywood. I probably owned the only copy left in the world. I still pay it to this day and it's in great condition. A lot of the tracks have Robby Benson playing cello. My version of "blue Ballon" is longer and does not have the instrumental bridge in it. The album has an instrumental version of "Blue Ballon". The music is by Lee Holdridge and Lyrics by Joseph Brooks

THANK YOU for putting this up!!! There's so much out there for the "young-uns" on internet but for older gals like me (46) it is so exciting to find any favorite old movies or songs online. For me as a teen certain music or movies or stars would really GET TO YOU. Emotions seem exaggerated if that makes sense. You'd freak when a certain song came on, cry really hard at certain movies, gaze at a poster on ur wall (wont admit who mine were-LOL) gaze at posters feeling crazy teenage love!!

It was almost 30 years ago when I first saw this move as a teenager, and this movie makes me cry to this day. I have both VHS and DVD. I imagine that teenagers nowadays probably would find this film not that interesting due to lack of sex-related-materials, but I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong. it's a sweet and beautiful story, and marvelously honest acting job from both Robby Benson and Glynnis O'Connor with such emotions that kills me every time I watch this.

This is a very nice song, but the "Jeremy" song that Glynnis sings toward the end of the movie is absolutely stunning. You should put that one up.

I have to admit that I did not know about this film, the song or Robby Benson. I came across this clip by coincidence last night. I suffered from my periodic bout of depression. The song did not help me to get over it but still had a comforting effect. Does anyone know if there is a chance to get this song on CD?

@cococahoo I am SO happy to hear you as a young person like this film!!! (I'm guessing your are 16 or 17?) I was a teenager 15 or 16 when I saw this movie (30+ years ago), and Jeremy and Susan's story of their love affair never left my heart for some crazy reason. As a film maker/photographer, it is not a well-made film; however, emotional portrayal of two young lovers in this film is something we all understand and feel. Strange, writing this I feel something back of my eyes.....

@TadnDixie1 Hi, this is RB scrapbook-thank you for the comment. Robby's singing improved with age I think. on the RB channel I have clips of him when he's a little older singing. It's a shame they never released this soundtrack except on records. However, I do have the mp3 of this version. Send me a PM with your email and I can give it to you.

@jodiekennon Robby himself admitted that he doesn't think he's a very good singer at all, but you know how it is when they had teen idols back in the day, they made them try singing and acting. He's done a lot of songs, and I think got better as he got older. He wrote and sang a beautiful song called 'Forever' a few years ago.

Ok I'll be first to admit I'm theeee worlds worst singer so i really have no room to criticize but seriously ppl, am I the only one that thinks he isn't very good at singing? I might even go as far as saying he could be tone deaf. He should stick to acting. The lyrics are sweet though...Just my opinion.
It fit the movie/ character Jeremy he was playing somehow just right IMHO. Of course, he wasn't trying to win a Grammy for it.
