She was an amazing character and she was just 19 in the first movie... An absolute role model for other female leads
But but Jennifer Lawrence..
role "sniffing" model
She became an addict 😢
Um.... Carrie was such a drug attic and alcoholic that it cut this talented actors life very short.
Damn she was even the canon age (not for the time but the retcon)
Thank you George - from all the women who grew up in the 70's.
So refreshing.
She still wore that bikini though.
You are missed and remembered with love 💗
Beautiful woman. R.I.P.
You are missed and loved by many.
I like how at the time she had to specify who George was.
‘George? Who the fuck is George? Oh, oh that George. Did he? Oh he wrote it-and directed, damn this fella is going places, maybe we should talk to him.’ 😂
She was so gorgeous 😍😍😍
Carrie you nailed it ❤
So did Harrison Ford
@@jamesfountain6183and Mark Hamil😊
@@Mylife-qx2nm and James Earl Jones
Ironic and amusing how yet Disney is the one that claims "there have never been any strong female characters in Star wars" 🙄🤦🏻😂🤣
Who tf said that? You're just pulling that out of your ass bro
Yup. Emperors clothes and virtue signaling
Yea, like how can they claim that?
@@lindsayprice1456 That's the fun part, they don't!
Just remember that Leia, when she got rescued, was just lounging in her cell. No damsel in distress there and the next minute was wielding a blaster
Her voice complements her looks in the best way
Then it was ruined later on...all hoarse
Damn she was gorgeous...
And here we are.
She was very strong she was a great strong character and inspiration to women and men all together she was fantastic and she is totally missed
She was my princess growing up...I would watch Return of the Jedi everyday as a kid... Nevermind traditional Disney Princesses...And I love how later when I started getting into Empire Strikes back how Solo won her over...RIP Carrie...😢
I'm watching this and thinking that she looks like Millie Bobby Brown.....
I think that’s one thing we all love about lai
Miss her.
Princess Leia ❤
She was so beautiful
She really was.
All with little makeup and natural beauty. She still puts modern women to shame when it comes to beauty.
He got the perfect actress for the part.
Damn she was always good looking
Did she ever stop being good looking?
Always
Hell yea, I wouldn't have kicked her out of bed for eating crackers
@@occam7382Carrie Fisher passed away in 2016 right after filming Star Wars 8 The Last Jedi she was 60 yr old r.i.p.
This here, is something that Disney will never put forward
It's always fun to see how much people George hired loved working on the movies
All of her life! She was amazing. RIP
I often find how I hardly hear how the whole series is a homage to Akira Kurisowa.
first star wars movie defenitly was, but im not sure about whole serie
This clip is so old that she felt she needed to explain George Lucas’ roles!
She was cute af
He should have had our Princess Anne. She proved she was a fighter at gun point.
Rest In Peace Carrie Fisher, hope you are in a better place
Ove as princess Leia was very good a ctress😊😊❤❤
Princess Leia, Princess Carrie, they are interchangeable terms.
I always liked how princess Leia was strong enough to run with the boys but still vulnerable enough to be a woman.
Long live the princess of Alderaan. May she rest in peace
Note to Jennifer Lawrence. You weren't the first female action star.
Loved her in Blues Brothers too
Love and miss you Carrie.
She will always be our princess ❤
Long live the Princess and may the force be whit you
And yet Disney had the nerve to say that Star Wars didn’t feature enough strong female leads in his movies, it doesn’t matter the number of strong chicks in the movies just how important their story is to the main plot. Padmé and Princess Leia were best the examples in the movies.
Disney could learn a lot about strong female characters and writing them properly
Perfect casting.😊
Even though I didn't watch it as a young girl, it did influence how we played as children. It was okay for me to play as a fighter in a group of boys & girls. TY, George.
RIP
She was the definition of a strong female character written right.
She was more than a fighter and independent… Princess Leia was a badass!
George managed to create a strong, female character without making her obnoxious or stupidly capable. He made what they're trying to make in Star Wars today, over 40 years ago.
I love her
Ella es y será la verdadera mujer empoderada❤
And Disney Star Wars are ignoring this
❤ my role model
What’s so amazing about it is that he used it to empower women without having to literally say it empowers women
Princess Leia pleading: "Help me Obi-Wan Kinobe, you're my only hope." Is one of the most famous damsel in distress clips of all time.
That was as much a plea to take the Death Star plans and complete the mission as it was for her own safety. Furthermore, she wanted to be rescued in order to continue her mission personally.
I love Princess Leia.
Despite what is said about her, she is the stereotypical princess.
Bossy, entitled, condescending, rebellious, likes bad boys, and is hot.
He wanted a princess that kisses her brother.
Damn she fine
Ironic... We miss you
Has anybody writing Star Wars now seen this interview? I think it would clear up a lot for them.
Kathleen Kennedy is too dense to understand the difference between Leia and Rey. And that is why Star Wars is dead. Kathleen Kennedy killed it.
She looks so much like Stevie nicks!
SHE JOKED JABBA TO DEATH
He also had dreams of another female character in that series like Darth Talon apprentice of Darth Maul. But they didn’t take his idea into the movie because Carrie Fisher was going to be the main focus
I dont get how later in life she hated being thought of as leia all the time. Leia is a well written based character. She brought that character too life, she was just as bad ass as the guys. She will always be leia.
Probably for the same reason Harrison Ford hates being thought of as Han Solo. Neither of them viewed their roles as the end-all, be-all of their careers. They both were more than happy to move beyond Star Wars and do their own thing (Carrie slightly less so).
This being in stark contrast to Mark Hamill who, despite playing multiple roles over the course of his life, has always had a special connection with Star Wars and with George, as he himself has said on multiple occasions.
We already had strong female characters and not only that she was one of the main characters woke Disney is BULL.
This can't be true, Disney is telling us Star Wars didn't have any strong female characters.
We already had strong female leads in star wars, now Disney tries to force it not letting them be organic
Someone send this to KK and the girl bosses at Lucasfilm who think they are doing something profound with Star Wars female characters these days.
She can thank Jennifer Lawrence for paving the way
Tell disney that bc they don't know shit about Star wars anymore
Kathleen Kennedy should take note of this.
This is another strong female character that did not need to dumb down the male to be the best. If you read the books, she nearly died to Darth Vader torture for info and she mention nothing.😊
She is the kind of character we need and instead we gog a Mary sue who need to downsize the strength of male around her to make her look good. I focus on the look, because she ain't.
Shame she's no longer with us
You're The Leader Of The Rebel Alliance And A Traitor, TAKE HER AWAY!
❤
He wanted a "Toni Montana".
Somebody who wears a golden bikini...
Bobby Eleven?? 😮
Take notes disney
And today American woman believe they don't need men
Love Lollywood lol
Not according to Kathleen Kennedy and her lesbian partner lasleep princess Lea was just a girl in distress😊
She’s right. Great actress. But not the first strong female character in history.
Now people wanna mess with the formula , make everyone gay and girls , and very VERY uninteresting
Leia was a badass so brave and yes such a fighter, just like her mother 😊
She was a damsel on distress.
She was chained up by a fat worm for most her onscreen time, or saying obi wan kenobi, you are out only hope.
Many more times she was trapped and waiting for the guys.
She was a great actress, made the role likeable.
remind me, who strangled the worm? remind me, how did she get in the palace of said worm? she was never a passive object for someone to save, which basically is a "dmasel in distress" trope. She was always an active participant and/or initiator of action.
ALSO, "help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi" was not about saving her, it was about delivering intel to help the rebel cause, she has never asked to be saved from Empire, and didn't count on it.
You're either seen the movies very long time ago or are lying.
Whaaaaaat no those type of woman characters have only been written recently 😂😂😂😂 well according to modern Hollywood that's what they want audiences to think
Wait... Didn't anyone tell this to the former personal assistant to Harvey Weinstein?
So the new movies arent a retcon afterall 🧐
George should hire Captain Marvel to 'save the world' by setting up the last of the Mo He Cans. Occasionally, throughout history, there is only one #Mekong.
#HughLaurie has a cane for a number of reasons. #SadieRobertson received a gold men's watch to inspire #Mohecan saving.
Where are we now, Mums?
#SilenceOfTheLambs meets #TheTenthMan
DID #AdrianPaul star in the #Mohicans movie?
So sick of the strong woman character in modern times.
Back then they knew how to do it.
Star Wars fans hate women though
Didn't she do a spread for Pkayboy?!...
Quite the example 🤔
God she is a fox❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
Wait I thought the reason I don't like the new Star Wars is because I don't like strong women?
I think disney forget this clip 😂😂😂 ir they just straight up ignore it just to add on to their woke bollocks
Now we have lesbian boss media...
In a gold snake bikini.
😍
She was amazing before the cocaine.
Today people would scream woke
But he did demand you go braless throughout the whole thing
This clip needs to be shared to everyone whining about representation in this franchise. I think some of us forget or don’t pay attention to just how kick-ass her character is.
And she was written so much better than the modern ones. She did not have to act like or try to be a man to be the hero she was.
