Justin’s tone is insane! But a little focus on Danny. There are drummers, then there are percussionists. I think Danny has an extra set of arms somewhere. The man isn’t human on the set. He’s not just keeping a beat. He’s a musician to the highest caliber.
That’s definitely Justin/& Danny’s actual recorded tracks for the song no doubt about that. No bass player can recreate that unbelievably killer bass tone that Justin gets with his active Wal Mk-2 bass going through his truly epic 2 amps/& effects rig that he’s using for a “wet/& dry” amp set up at all times taking the clean signal from one amp, & blending it with a significantly dirty/& grittier overdriven signal from his second amp which then gets put through his pedalboard rig which is massive. The Only Famous Bass Players Out There With Pedalboards That Hugely Massive Are Justin Chancellor/& Doug Wimbish. I Can Confidently Say That These Two Bass Players Hold The Record For The Biggest Pedalboards That Anyone Will Ever See Being Used By A Bass Player In Any Sort Of Musical/& Band Setting For The Rest Of Anyone’s Entire Life Lol!!!! I myself am actually bass player that also has a pretty massive pedalboard packed full with all different sorts of effects pedals I can use at anytime to bring almost limitless types of interesting/weird/amazing sounding/& beautifully creative sounds, & audible textures live/& in the studio. Guitarist in other bands almost always start talking shit about my pedalboard being too big, & giving me the typical “Asshole Guitarist Rundown” about how Bass players should only have1-2 pedals (a tuner, & maybe some sort of overdrive/or fuzz. They usually always say that an overdrive/or fuzz pedal on bass is still unnecessary, & useless, & that the only pedal Amy bass player should have is a tuner, & nothing else). I can’t stand when other musicians talk shot like that because it lets everyone know immediately that the person talking crap (typically always a lead guitarist/& sometimes a singer) is an absolute Prima Donna who wants/& absolutely has to make sure that they’re the only band member/members that get all the attention from the audience, & they’ll always immediately start tearing down other players by talking shit as they try to assert their superiority or something absolutely fucking retarded that they believe as usual haha.
Definitely a Wal MKII with a pick. That massisve monster yet clear low mid chunk is unmistakable! I wish Ken of Failure would find a way to let us hear some of Greg's awesome Wal bass master tapes from their 90's catalog. After all JC is the owner of Greg's Wal.
It’s not so much that Justin is a stellar technical player, because he’s not. That being said, Being a technician is fairly meaningless compared to what Justin is. His writing, creativity, song structure and artistry are what puts him on a level above most others!
Idk man. I feel like a Justin is a pretty solid technical player. The compositions he writes arnt the hardest things to play technically but live he seemed to be nailing every note with a consistent tone and little extra pickup noise.
@@Daddy53751 oh yeah dude no worries if you were haha. I saw them live last year and they had Justin way up in the mix and I was pretty impressed by his consistency.
Most TOOL songs are already bass prominent, so for most TOOL fans it will sound better like this. Besides, no offense to adam also, but his guitar tone is not that much special. Justin’s bass tone and style are like no other, he’s a genuine pioneer, and honestly, he overshadows Adam fully. That’s why it sounds better. :)
That fuzz in the chorus hits you like a train

Thank you for the upload, If anyones interested this is ripped from Guitar Hero World Tour, Tool did a feature with Parabola, Vicarious and Schism
Those descending chords absolutely kill me
Are you talking about at 0:40?
@@cameron7135yeah i realise they’re ascending now lol but yeah, that bit slaps
If it was mixed by Justin
I love it! Was that covered bass and drums or the originals?

it's the same fuzz pedal tone for the chorus so it's definitely Justin

I’m just saying that his true gift is creative writing.

The only bassist I've ever seen that successfully pulls a similar style to him is Jeff Caxide
No offence to Adam, but why does this sound better with him turned down?

nah, this comment is blasphemous
Okay, random person. If you said it, it must be right. 😂
Cause tool is a lot about the bass lol
@@der_fisch_42take it back! Take it back! His tone is good 😢
