D.I. ,TSOL,Vandals and the kid that plays No God record of The Germs i LOVE the film since i was a kid im 46 .First time listening the legend of Pat brown
Joe Schmo, the kid with the gay dad was Wade Walston. He played bass in US Bombs and was the guy looking in the mirror on that Face to Face record. Jack Diddley played a surfer guy in Platoon. I watched that movie WAY too many times.
If there was one that could have done a sequel in the spirit of like this is England. To have a follow up to the aftermath of the the end of the movie like 5 years on to see where everyone ended up.
I love Suburbia, also check out Dudes, same director and Flea and Jon Cryer play punk rockers. Class of '84 and Repo Man also great punk rock type movies.
Punk will be long gone when the world is a good place, it swells and grows and gets power from its reactionary aspects, it does have some dependance on socially and politically fucked up times, even to the point of having major crossover with activism and anarchism, direct action etc
Have you done a film review on The Decline of Western Civilization? There is a part 2 but that's about hair metal. I have not been keeping up with the TPRR as much as I would like, i got a lot going on right now but it's a great film about the early SoCal punk scene with Fear The Circle Jerks, The Germs, and Black Flag.
mostly it was a certain spot in town wed go and meet up with other punks live the gutter punk dream, panhandling and or chipping in pocket change for space bags that double for air pillows and when there was a cheap show someone would always come by and hand us flyers and wed go pay for a couple and lick our hands to transfer the stamp, as long as you got a little o there you could be like yeah it rubbed off a lot in the pit, and they restamp you, and the cycle goes on
Well, they definitely knew you guys were lying, but they let you in anyway to let you have some fun and keep the scene alive. Make the shows better. Those were the days tho, I miss em
Randall, these guys might be good dudes, but they dont truly get our world, and the terrible acting and writing, made it more real. BTW Juicy Karkass "Punch em in the Dick" pays a great homage to this movie, if you dont knoe them, check it out, id love to see you cover tge OG rapping gutter punks on your show
They're my best friends and they're super normies. Definitely don't get our world, but they've been there for me when I needed someone, so they get a pass from me any time. That's why I show them these movies, and that's why they show me theirs. It's the best way to do this show. You should see my reaction to a bunch of their stuff, lol. It’s awesome that we are all from different worlds and somehow we still find common ground. I feel awkward asking questions about punk sometimes but Randy is always super patient w/ me. I appreciate your pov too Rock_Bottom_Denizen👊🏽👊🏽
Also, the bands in the movie are D.I., The Vandals, and T.S.O.L. They also play the Vandals "Anarchy burger" in Dudes!
I love Suburbia, I even have the soundtrack on vinyl. New subscriber!

Still got the VHS copy - now where's my cassette soundtrack located..
You need to review Bomb City! It's a true story about a punk rocker named Brian Deneke who got killed by a jock and the jock got away with it.
Yeah I know Bomb City and that story very well, I'm from TX. That's a decent movie, maybe I'll pick it for our next watch
The Ramones movie Rock and Roll High School came out first in 1979, .but that was more of a musical
Yeah I definitely don't count that one, personally

Razzle, the kid with the rat played bass in Fear
@mattphillips538 I was just mentioning guys who went on to do things that mattered.
@@illmsg77 Me too

That would be rad, I'd definitely watch that
Hellz the 90s kicked ass
That it did, that it did...
Love this movie to Death!! Real So Cal. punk!

Class of 84 is great, Repo Man is good, but a bit overrated imo.
best movie in all time. formative on this late 80s (and still going strong) punk
I don't really agree with that, personally, but I dp love this movie
Thanks!
Bro, thank you! That's awesome, I really appreciate it 👊😎🏴☠️

The world will never be a "Good place", so by your logic, punk will never die
BTW the bands in the movie are TSOL, THe Vandals, and DI
Yeah, I know, lol
the guy they said looks like Billie Joe, i always thought he looks like Marty Volume from Lower Class Brats
Oh shit, that's who I was thinking of! Yes, he looks like him, for sure!
@@thepunkrockreview there was a rumor in Austin back when LCB started that he Was the actor. But he’s not.
Ha! Looks just like him you’re right. Thanks for watching btw!

I've seen it a bunch of times, but I haven't reviewed it yet. Maybe the next pick I get ill choose that one. Definitely at some point, tho
It's about decline 1 & 3
@Tgleason1976 Yes, indeed, there is a part 3, but nothing compares to the OG film my brother.
@@thepunkrockreviewskip 2 lol. My old roommate Eyeball is in 3!

Check out DUDES same director another punk film
I've seen that! Didn't realize it was the same director, though!
