If the Oilers win we lost to the Cup winning team and there is no shame in that, not only that Dallas lost in 6, LA in 5 and the Canucks went 7 and lost by one goal. I just wanna see a Canadian team win a Cup already and next year is our year.👍

The penalty kill for the Oilers is what surprised me. Perfect against the Kings and the Stars, defense are great, Stuart Skinner redemption after benching, and don’t forget Kris for his calming presence.

Yeah, they did the wrong thing and still won. They need to learn the killer instinct. When they have a team down, hit them harder. Don’t let them back up. When they learn that they’ll be a much better team.
That's what been bothering me this whole playoff. When they're winning, they get comfortable and stop offensive plays. It's almost like they forget the best defense is a good offense.

That was McDavid's career defining goal to date. It brought this team to the SC final. Maybe not the panache of his 'dancing 4 Rangers in 2021 goal', but still stratospheric in terms of sick skill & trickery, and the timing? That ... was ... epic!!!
I would put this goal even above that one. Just the way he dragged the puck around the defenders was ridiculous.

It was a sick goal but technically it would have just tied things at the end of 60. Hyman’s goal sent them to the cup finals…
The Oilers could have played better offensively today but screw it, they held on and got the job done. Skinner was a beast once again (though I nearly had a heart attack at the very end there) and extra style points go to that 1st McDavid goal.

Their inability to score on the PP also killed them too, though its writing on the wall when the Oilers have only allowed 3 pp goals to Vancouver and also shut out LA completly. Huge respect to yall and you will be certainly be a worthy opponent next year too

The oilers showed how much depth they have and how far they have come this game, they solved their biggest weaknesses: goaltending and defensive play. Stu skinner played absolutely amazing this game and honestly the whole series. All defensmen looked solid blocking shots and taking their man and clearing pucks out, they shut down the stars. Mcdavid proved why he's the BEST player in the world. This oilers team is no joke , excited for the finals VS panthers. GO OILERS!!!
He was .928% save percentage this series. Quite a turnaround! He impressed me skinner, he stepped up for us. And 28 straight penalty kills helps a lot! Dallas didn’t get one power play goal on 20 plus attempts

I would never dream that Skinner would be so helpful after so many struggles. He was one of the Edminton weaknesses but now he really stepped up! Happy to see it
This is huge for Skinner. The most important game of his career at this point and he really pulled through. I've doubted you a t times Skinner but I'm eating crow now and happily so. If his game against Florida are like this then I like our chances. Not the best 2nd and 3rd periods from the Oilers but a good 5 days off should give them some rest.

I was too young to experience the 2006 run, so this will be the first time I will ever experience the Oilers playing in the Finals. Seeing the players (especially my hockey hero Nuge) in their Western Conference Champion hats, gathering around the Clarence Campbell Bowl, there's just no words to describe how happy I am right now! This is a memory that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I love this city!! I love this team!! I couldn't be more proud to be an Oilers fan right now! From 3-9-1 to a Stanley Cup Final. The Panthers are a very solid and stable team, and Bobrovsky is a real beast (by the way, hello to everyone who said his transfer was a failure). Florida is a monster and this will be a tough challenge for Edmonton. I want Edmonton to win this so much. Dallas is a great team but I will admit Ottenger wasn't in his best form, while Skinner made some game winning saves, couldn't have come any sooner.
Yeah Edmonton has almost no chance! Florida plays with intent to injure. they are a dirty physical team that wins with brute force and an amazing goalie! But it was a hell of a run for Edmonton to win the WEST at least! Only way Edmonton can beat Florida is pure luck hockey god bounces every game and deflections every game.
We beat pacific champions, and central champions, we can play with Florida. Anything is possible!

@@justissmith1509no, Rangers' offense does not compete with Edmonton's. Just go look at the stats, the top 4 scorers in these playoffs are all Oilers, 3 of whom with a large margin. Trocheck, who was New York's top scorer, has 11 fewer points that McDavid alone. Everyone saying Florida will kill them are absolutely delusional. It will be a hard fought, 6-7 game series to the death.
That goal by McDavid was a master class in tight puck control.

To be frank, stopping 8 out of 10 while Dallas keeps spamming 3.5 times of edmontons shot is just crazy.
Edmonton relied on two nice shots and Dallas was relying on a lucky break/bounce. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

Honestly, watching latest NHL games gives me goosebumps... Here's the thing... I deeply admire players like Howe, Richard, Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux and many other LEGENDS of the game, but I have the feel that this is something crazy... Oilers Defense def increased to a high level like no one expected, not even me couple months back. Stars had no PPG in the series, they gonna shut down Panthers PP. Defense wins games. Dallas had 35 shots and 1 goal. Oilers had 10 shots and 2 goals. Oilers getting better every game learning from their mistakes like Leon said. 💪

McDavid seems to be back to his playoff standard 110% strength. He seems to have healed fully right on time for the Stanley cup finals. Skinner was also on fire tonight which makes bringing home the Cup look very possible.

I feel bad Dallas lost with such a big effort, but as an American I still am happy to see a Canadian team back in the final round. That said, I still will probably root for Florida because they've had to put up with their state rival rubbing their cup wins in their face. If Edmonton wins, I won't be upset, I look forward to some good hockey!

You know, I never thought of Skinner as a super goalie. He was decent, fairly reliable... but BOY did he elevate his game in this series.
Skinner played some fantastic goaltending this game, 1 goal from 35 shots is exactly what we needed from him.
Oilers are such a weird team, somehow they move on to the finals with a game where they get 10 shots.
Not the first time it's happened these playoffs remember they won Game 4 vs LA with only 13 shots
And they scored on 2 of their first 3! 😆

These Finals are going to be nuts. Hoped to see both teams in the Finals. Either way I'll be happy. Both teams have insane fans, I can't wait to witness the atmosphere in each stadium. If Skinner keeps his form, I can totally see this going to Game 7.

As a Rangers fan, I want to congratulate Kris Knoblauch. What an awesome achievement for him. As for the Oilers, you've got your work cut out for you. The Panthers are an extremely difficult team to play against. Barkov is an absolute beast and is by far the best defensive forward I've seen this year. Tremendous matchup for McDavid.
