Great videos. I am considering getting my 2006 w169 (120k miles) reconditioned, rather than buying a new car. It's such a good car,but too many mechanical rattles. Have you replaced the Aircon on yours? Ours no longer works and regassing just leaks.

Thanks! On mine the AC stopped working either some time ago (my girlfriend hates me for that) but it doesn´t seem to be an issue of the gas or the compressor - once had some rattling noise inside the dash and it turned hot, afterwards the cold air came back for a short time and then ist was gone. I suspect one of these electric ventilation flaps to be broken but have no clue which and how to access it...

Great vid. I suppose an alignment is necessary after that, right?

Thanks! It wasn't in my case - as long as the replacement joint is true to size, the suspension geometry shouldn't change at all.

The hole to loosen the control arm nut (WD40) is straight on the front side of the bumper, right above the plastic "scratch" block, you can use a extended tool and insert there, and apply great force easy.. to tighten it should work from the holes above the control arm. Unpleasant thing is that, altough it can be done with partially removing clips and bolts of the bumper, but better is take it completely off, if theres no choice.

Hi where is the front trolley jack location on the A169?

Right between the front wheels (as shown at 0:25) 😎
