If you find the center of mass for your horn contraption, the needle will follow the groove better all on its own if you hold it at the balance point and let the weight of your horn thing rest in the groove.
Hold it from the top the vibration is limited when your hand is below and cause the vibration and sound waves to not have as big of an effect as holding at the top….. damn that some nerdy shit
@@lamarcussweatpants3163 Yeah, but this is isn't one of those records, just like the vast majority of records in circulation. It's the equivalent of getting upset at someone for scratching their own CD of "Now That's What I Call Music 21".
wow! so there’s little ridges that make the sound of the song when a needle rubs across it? i need to look up how records work now! thanks for posting man
@@audawind after I wrote that I realized it's a bit more complicated. You need to find a way to make the needle vibrate up and down, which I think you could do if you bent another needle at a 90° angle and found a way to loosely fix it in place while it touches the wax, then you have the needle attached to the paper roughly perpendicular to the bent needle. So, uh, maybe a bit too complicated for something that probably won't work, but I'll be fucking hyped if you try it!
If you have the ... to do that. A record player be cheaper then a cordles drill, the screws, the needs you have to perches. Oh not to forget the stack of paper you have to get, because things like needles and paper are not sold as a simple peace. You kind of have to get the lot. In theory it works!.. in practice, you scratched the hell out of your record
Precisely 😎

Vinyl technology is so amazing I listened to a recording my 98 year old grandma made when she was 8 it was like something out of a different world
It was nice hearing the needle scratch and then slowly become the music through the scratch.
Are you really that dumb that you believe this?
That record is toast now
I don't care what anyone says.....THAT IS MAGIC 😅
It kinda is but it’s just vibrations printed in vinyl
Just basic chemistry - Walter White
Analog audio is so cool, I hope nobody cared about that record
They did.

.... was anyone else waiting patiently in hopes of him giving the drill full power to hear how the music sounded at mach 1 speed?!?!? 😂😂😂
You can use a bill from countries that use that new plastic to make their money out of. Works great and won’t scratch your record into avante garde
😂 So that's why they didn't sell variable speed drills back in the 60s😊 Now we know
best demo
Hold the paper lightly by pinching the wide end at the point and let gravity hold the paper/needle down and it might stay in the groove

It actually worked!!! Awesome 😮
Don’t let Crosley see this.
I thought we was about to get Rick rolled😂😂😂😂
I feel bad for his record collection
You can use a toothpick or even just your finger nail. Fingernail without cone obviously.
The poor record will never play again
I just would like you to know how the hell do they put music in that disc?
Really cool actually
You fucked that record up bro 😢
Use to put it on a pencil and spin it and it was amazing! I was 6!

I suppose I did :)

@@Thunderbolt1684 thanks!
Amazing technology and I’m glad to see young people fascinated as well!
That said…. Ouch
This is essentially how a gramophone works. Just make the grooves much larger and the horn much bigger.

How to write over music on vinyl.
What album was that? Also rip that record.
Straighten the chuck/mandrel situation and i bet it would work decent enough to demo at least

Oh ya this guys fried
Maybe you should change the drill direction, it sounds back words lol
Bigger cone, and turning it sideways, putting the needle pointed down through the tip of cone. Then have somebody Rest the cone on their hand
That’s one way to scratch up your records 🫣
