Great video, as a big fan of the genre, there were some hidden gems here. Currently working on our most anticipated 2023 games and a few are Metroidvanias, not including Silksong (it doesn't need to be on a list, everyone knows) Keep up the good work!
From everything I've seen and heard from those who have had hands-on time with the game - it's going to be a good one! More upcoming and new metroidvania videos are coming very soon!
A Sister's Journey is one of those games where every time I see development updates I get even more excited to check it out! The developer is really doing some awesome work with lighting that makes the pixel art pop and combat looks pretty sweet as well. Hopefully we'll get a more definitive release date soon!
Great list Jacob! 2023 is legitimately going to be an insane year for Metroidvanias. I'm also looking forward to these ones too, when they eventually release: Bio-Morph, Rune Fencer Illyia, Slavania, Heart forth Alicia, Rusted Moss, Awaken Astral Blade, Lucid, Cookie Cutter, Elderand, Rebel Transmute, The Crown Stones: Mirrah, Glimmer In Mirror, Vernal Edge, Fallen Tear: The Ascension, Deepening Fire, Auta, Being and Becoming, Saviour, Blasphemous 2, SteamDolls and Bushiden. Phew!! 😅
Aaaaaaaand just 19 minutes ago I finally came to an end with my second project, that drove me crazy the last 2 months. I'll probably get drunk and watch the video tomorrow, but I'm sure from the first 30 seconds it's gonna be another great video

Yeah I'm hyped for Blasphemous 2 as well! Hopefully by the time I do a part 2 to this video there will be some footage so I can include it there. If these release timeframes hold then 2023 is going to be an incredible year for metroidvania games!
Yea The Last Faith looks really good! If I had to guess it'll probably release in the first quarter or half of 2023 so the wait shouldn't be too much longer.
@@YourFriendJacob Maybe although not that long ago they were advertising for an experienced level designer which could push the development back further but hope springs eternal and this does come out sooner! 👍
I have no Faith left in The Last Faith game with the stunt they pulled on everyone and if your in their discord you would know what I’m talking about. 👀👀 Nine Sols and Afterimage I’m praying comes out this year. I know Afterimage is suppose to be April but None Sols don’t know yet.
I am not in their Discord so I haven't seen any of that. I barely have enough time to keep up with my own Discord server lol but whatever's going on with The Last Faith I hope things resolve and the game has a solid launch.
God damn it, if you keep doing such a good job of finding promising indie game releases, I'll never finish my backlog! In one of my favorite genres, nonetheless!

Words of advice for your narration. You fell into the trap of a typical "advertisement narrator voice" I would call it. You literally emphasize every single sentence the same, from start to finish, especially the end of the sentences, making you sound incredible monotone. I am not exaggerating when I say you sound like an AI just reading off text that they don't even know the meaning of and thus they can't emphasize in a more dynamic fitting way.
When can you stop calling an art style "heavily inspired" and start calling it a straight copy with some of these games?. Not throwing any shade btw, these games look fun and all, but its as if they made them to eagerly be compared to their "inspirations".
@@ZamWeazle I was mainly referring to A sister's journey which looks like Celeste, and Crowsworn which looks like Hollow knight. Again not saying they are bad or anything, i have wishlisted most of the games in the video, with Crowsworn being now one of my favorites in here, but i would be lying if i said it looking like hollow knight is not a big part of it.
@@M7SNX I can't speak for Sisters Journey but I've read practically whole dissertations on reddit and watched TH-cam videos on why Crowsworn is Not a rip-off or copy of Hollow Knight. Lotus Knight....however?! 😶

Biogun is on the watch list for sure. It looks great and can't wait for it to come to Switch as you mentioned that as a high priority for the team

A Sister's Journey is one of those games where every time I see development updates I get even more excited to check it out!
