I had to return two units because when using Tidal or Spotify, the volume rocker would not work while the apps were open. But the volume rocker would work on the Hiby player or if Tidal and Spotify was minimized and not open...
there is 2 volume, master volume controller by button and android volume controlled by setting. go to setting and sound, turn up the media volume to max and then try to listen your music@@danilaros
yes, you can, but battery life will be pretty short actually, if you need some digital transport for USB DAC, I'd suggest buying some inexpensive Android phone and using it without sim-card
Thanks for another great review, mate! You've always been my go-to reviewer when I'm back into the market for another DAP. Hey, I'm wondering, how would you compare the M300 to the upper-tier R6 III? I mean, overall, not only sound-wise. Both are similarly fast in terms of software/UI? The battery is anything better on the bigger one? And at last, is the difference in SQ significantly better on the R6 III? It's twice the price and I'm contemplating whether it will be really worth it for me. So far I've been using Sony NWZ-A15, FiiO M6, Cayin N3 and most recently the Sony NW-A105. Cheers and all the best!
Hello, the Hiby Xoe are listed on linsoul for 18$ incl shipping.. do they perform above their price ?? What iems are they comparable to? 30-40$ or 15-20$?? Thanks
hello there! How is the bluetooth performance on this device? Can you use it as a receptor for a smart tv or PC, just like the qudelix 5k or fiio BTR5? Also, is it possible to use the M300 as a usb dac for a PC? I am considering going for a small android dap to replace my Shanling M0 pro, the tiny screen ended up being a dealbraker for me, otherwise its a great device. I am right now considering the M300 or the shanling M3X. Wich one do you guys think Its a better all round device to use as music player (flac files and spotify), Bluetooth receiver and USB DAC? I use mostly Iems like moondrop chu 2, 7hz dioko and ocasionally grado sr80x. thank you
Well, main choice criteria here is actually do you need Android or not. The main value of M300 is the presence of Android. As far as I remember, it works as a DAC, but I'm not 100% sure here. And if Android isn't a priority for you, you can get HiBy R3-II, solid device, with time-proven sound and functionality :)
I ordered the blue one, just waiting for delivery. This form factor is much better for a portable device. Many of these players are either unusable small because of screen/battery (like the Fiio M0), or too chunky to be comfortably portable. If you think back to the iPod and Zune, those were in the sweet spot.
Hello there. Did you get the player in hand? I have a favour to ask, could you try it with a dac dongle and please report whether it can play music through it? I plan to buy this and use it with a dac dongle. Thank you in advance!
@@wana.me003 Briefly testing it with an iBasso DC01, it doesn't work too well with the hiby music app. I've found it stops playing after about 2 mins then you have to plug in the DC01 again to get it to restart. Also I imagine it will drain the battery pretty fast.
I've listened sony nwa105 only for about 20 mins in the shop, and to be honest was unimpressed. So I liked M300 more in terms of sound. But take it with a grain of salt, as I proper comparison requires more time with 105
Hey there, I have the exact same problem. I let it drain completely and charged it to 100 percent, disengaged pretty much everything(including wifi and BT), even in idle mode it only holds the charge for like 8~9 hours. That's not normal. Haven't got any help from the manufacturer yet. Have you had any luck?
if you need a player, buy this. if you're ok with using dongle with your smartphone, K13 is an option. it's a mater of the more convenient use case for you

Hm, I tried Apple Music and it was ok. I think this thing should be fixed by HiBy
Hi. Anyone know if the volume problem with Tidal and Spotify has been solved by Hiby?
there is 2 volume, master volume controller by button and android volume controlled by setting. go to setting and sound, turn up the media volume to max and then try to listen your music@@danilaros
Also, no MSEB system wide, only through the Hiby player.
System-wire sound adjustments are for HiBy Music players, not for HiBy digital ones :)
Thanks for the review, can you use it streaming let's say Apple music, using external dac /amp, a dongle, through the USB C output...❓😊👍
yes, you can, but battery life will be pretty short

I have to know the same. Please reply.
No, they don't perform "above their price", roughly on par with other models in $15-$30 segment
