Yep a big difference, I do not need balanced out and find the sony walkman's too expensive really, this is a very good price and with Android 13....... I am tempted again :)
A video full of apologies lol It's okay, considering that professional audio reviewer may not necessarily know about the changes in the volume control of the M300, this is a mistake in our promotion. We will also improve on this!Hope everyone likes M300! David, thank you for the review! Also to @ozboylu
Good for you to acknowledge the issue, although what puzzles me is that I think I have read DAP reviews in your web page. Anyway, a lot of smartphone reviews praising brittle glass backs as a "pro" instead of reliable and sometimes even better looking plastic, has made me aware that reviews have to be considered from the perspective of persons that necessarily have to spend a limited time with the device so some things slip.
About the output jack, I think Shanling almost nails it with their M0 Pro. If only they're using a solid L plug adapter for their proprietary 3,5mm bal to the standard female 4,4mm bal included in the box and slapping the extra cost to the final price quietly. They can then keep the form factor while pleasing both the normies and the balanced crowd. What a missed opportunity.
I picked up the R3 2 and while I do like the device I have one little issue with Hiby Music app. I am a fan of shuffling songs by genre or artist and I have yet to find a way to do that without spending lots of time creating playlists. If that one change was made I would love the device. Pertinent to M300 because I’m sure the app functions the same.
I was considering getting the R3 II but you are stuck with Hiby Music on that device and I am a big PowerAmp fan and have been using that on my Fiio M6 for many years now. Had tried out the Hiby Music app on the M6 but didn't care for the interface.
Can i download loseless music from apple music on this m300? I only listen streaming from apple music, or maybe r6 III would be a better choice? Thanks a lot
I know this is a late reply but I saw a TH-cam short of someone using apple music on the hiby m300. When I get one I'll test it out. I don't know about lossless but it should work?
@@PrimeAudioReviews I actually got it and have almost 400gb of music on now, very neat little device, feels solid and responsive, sound as any other audio interface I ever used, nothing out of the ordinary, which is a good thing. I decided to get one when I got fed up with Spotify removing songs I love, or even worse censoring the shit out of them (Russian bands were forced to due to anti drugs laws), so this way I have all my favourite music with me, unaltered and in full quality.
Balanced output gives you higher output power but also a cleaner signal and better instrument separation (but it's very minimal with short IEM/headphone cables).
I had to return two different M300 units because when using either Spotify or Tidal, the volume rockers would not work while the apps were open and running. Though it will work if the apps are minimized or closed.... not good.
Good. A big ol' Fiio can stay stay at home for IEM, headphone or connected to full size components. Just ordered M300 for real portable use to replace SONY NWA-105, several years old and hardy used at all, For its' poor battery life and SONY way of managing files into playlist thru sync with their software on PC.
hello there! How is the bluetooth performance on this device? Can you usee it as a receptor for a smart tv or PC, just like the qudelix 5k or fiio BTR5? Also, is it possible to use the M300 as a usb dac for a PC? I am considering going for a small android dap to replace my Shanling M0 pro, the tiny screen ended up being a dealbraker for me, otherwise its a great device. I am right now considering the M300 or the shanling M3X. Wich one do you guys think Its a better all round device to use as music player (flac files and spotify), Bluetooth receiver and USB DAC? I use mostly Iems like moondrop chu 2, 7hz dioko and ocasionally grado sr80x. Thanks!
To me it still feels like an overpriced android phone wtihout the phone part. If it had android src bypass and a balanced slot I would happily buy it though
I don't see it as overpriced considering even budget phones (New) are around $200 and most of those don't have a Snapdragon processor in them or even a processor with equivalent processing power. Also, good luck finding a phone smaller than 6 inches. Coming from my Fiio M6, this is a great upgrade! It honestly pisses me off that Samsung and most others have decided to stop putting microsd card slots in their phones as I would rather have just used my S21 as my DAP so to have an all-in-one device but it is what it is.
@@123benley No idea, I don't have any experience with those devices. For my use case, the type of DAC means little to me as I only use my player for Bluetooth streaming to my car or to a BT speaker. You could buy a Bluetooth receiver like KGUSS BL01.
bravo, real man should admit that's he is wrong and apologize, cheers mate

Yes, you can.

Appreciate your efforts to correct it with another video. Seems m300 is good after all.
I cannot get podcasts to play on Spotify. Any suggestions? Have you had any issues playing podcasts? I have a paid Spotify account.
Can you recommend this for the sound quality for DAP within similar price range?
HiBy R3 II has a similar price but sounds better IMO. M300 has no balanced output but it has Android so you can load apps on it.
Es de sabio cambiar de opinión, yo recientemente compre mi m300 y me encanta, excelente calidad de sonido, estoy feliz con el m300.
I WONDER HOW THIS COMPARES TO THE SONY NW A55 SOUND WISE
Me too. Send me a NW A55 and I will tell you.
Thanks for the update. Just wondering what a balanced headphone output does for the sound quality.... thanks.
Balanced output gives you higher output power but also a cleaner signal and better instrument separation (but it's very minimal with short IEM/headphone cables).
Can it pair with ath-m50x without any portable amp
Yes, it can, so long as you dive into the menu and raise the media volume level.
@@PrimeAudioReviews thank you
is this is a good audio player for starter ? i intend to buy this and i never buy this kind of device before
Only if you want to install other Android apps. If you're just looking for a cheap DAP, go with something from HiBy (not HiBy Digital) or Shanling.

the moondrop para has less bass than the sundara. that may be why u perceive the para as thin sounding...
Maybe. I still prefer Sundara.
Just keep the 3.5 which keeps all the powaaaa! No need to split between 4.4.
Should i buy this one or get the hiby r4
it's been a dilemma, for weeks i keep watching reviewer of these two😅 should i buy m300 or r4?
I don't know - for some reason HiBy didn't send me one 😁
To be fair, for a product like this they should ensure that media volume was maxed by default. This will certainly bamboozle some end users as well.
It's so you can notch the system volume down 3db to avoid clipping at high volume
There is usually no master volume in Android..
It had me fooled!
Does this support Line Out from the 3.5 jack?
I haven't seen any mention of it.
m300 does not by-pass android SRC on purpose to saperate from hiby and hiby digital for non audiophiles
That was very stupid on their part they should’ve had!!!!!
