79 EL CAMINO DASH KIT WIRING: PART 1

- I started the wiring on my Autometer Dash kit for my El Camino because it currently does not have a dash. I decided to go with Autometer because I'm aiming for a certain look for the El Camino. The El Camino project has been on pause for so long and I think that it is time to get the car back on the road a lot more.

That aspect (wireing) or electrical work is the most intimidating to me because I just don't understand any of it. I'm interested in learning so I'll be waiting for your next post. Working on a '72 Ranchero that needs a new harness.
Yeah it can be very intimidating because if done incorrectly it can turn out really bad. Lucky for me I’ve been wiring stereos in my cars since I was a teen so I understand it. Thanks for the support, hopefully I can get it done soon, I have to order a brand new bezel so I can complete it.

I'm doing optiseals for my SS. Got a t56 swap kit lined up and hopefully swap it in later this year.

I think my bezel is a little different if you want to see it it will fit before you cut yours up

When I bought the car they were thrown in the storage compartment behind the seat. So I do have them but there’s just nothing to attach them to
First comment didn’t show up so I typed it again sorry for double post. Just take it one thing at a time. Concentrate on one thing. I am working on 86 Camino. It got overwhelming so just fell back and worry about 1 thing at a time. 😉

Thanks for the advice. I’m definitely going use that. I just looked under the hood yesterday and thought, I’m over it fixing on it. I’m ready to get a new one and just make the car more modern and up to date.
