augustip Well of course it's more complicated than that but just acting like none of this is Apple's fault and saying they can't do anything is kind of silly aha
trials has basically turned into a podcast... iv been watching this series from the beginning but i have realised that i don't really watch them i just have them on while i play guitar or something. you guys should do a podcast
Jack Alker They do a podcast call Hat chat, they're livestreamed on Twitch not very often but there is about 30 episodes of about 1hr each so hope you like it
+Thomas Hines Not entirely true, they revolutionised iterative versions of the same thing. They release marginally updated versions of products faster than even Call of Duty games! That's obviously an amazing achievement!
A note on the iPhone. You aren't just paying for the materials and labor to MAKE the device. You are also paying for a fraction of the research and development costs.
Yes but then again the labours get underpaid, the programming an iphone can just be copy pasted over to other devices so I reckon the cost to make 1 device will still be around 20 pounds
I'm almost certain there are indeed aliens somewhere in the Universe just because of its sheer size. But at the same time, its size might prove that we might as well be alone. And it's not just space, but time too. It's possible that galactic civilizations comprised of several different species on various planets, like in fucking SW, Star Trek and every other SciFi franchise combined have already died out several times over. So with that, what are our chances of being close enough and in-sync enough with another civilization that's in their equivalent of a post-modern era.
Well science has found a planet and I think it's called Kepler 32b and its very similar to earth and it has been around longer then us and so they're doing more tests so that's what's kind of going to make my decision on whether aliens exist or not.
Toby v1.6 Just because a planet was found that visually is similar to Earth doesn't mean there could be life on it. There are dozens of factors that need to be met to support life which I assume you think would be as equally complex as humans. For example, is this planet in the habitable zone of it's parent star? Does it contain the elements and minerals necessary to support simple life? Also there is a very high chance that life does exist in even our solar system. For example, Jupiter's moon, Europa, is believed to contain primitive subterranean life. Europa is covered in what is believed to be ice, not some frozen chemical element. Evidence for that is every so often gaseous jets of liquid similar to that of water, similar in which it acts like water when ejected, is being released from geysers on the frozen surface. This life of course would not even be advanced enough to come in contact with sunlight. It is believed to resemble that of a prehistoric jellyfish or octopus, that would've existed somewhere between 120million to 160million years ago, when life didn't skim near the surface of the water.
@Brad Fuller I think that religion and superstition won't fade soon. It could fade if someone could find undeniable proof that every religion and superstition is wrong then it would fade. But everything these days is controversial. And not only is it controversial, but it could also be conspiracy. Now I don't agree with conspiracy theorists. I like to believe that science has made good progress but at the same time nothing they have discovered has disproven religion. Superstition on the other hand has begun to fade in some areas but there are still some that aren't proven.
TheDanMcBending It's a theory, made by people more intelligent than you, and it has evidence to back it up. I don't support it as I hope out there we aren't alone but it's not arrogance to claim this. Chill out.
Lmao, that awkward cut when you guys are talking about Simon at 12:37, 11 seconds of footage cut... niceeeeeeeee. I guess someone said something they shouldn't have.
I watch these trials videos just for the high quality commentary, i don't even look at the screen most of the time. Keep going guys, I love your discussions.
It's also preserved literally thousands of years of knowledge that otherwise might have been lost (e.g. monks copying down ancient manuscripts during the Middle Ages)
SeaTimeless in that way religion is a double edged sword. yes they copied stuff to preserve knowlegde, on the other hand they destroyed the stuff other religions had preserved.
what people forgets is that "extra-terestirals" doesn't necesarely mean two legged Aliens but could be something as small as a bacteria on another planet.
James Collins when you are watching fullscreen you have to aim for the fullscreen button to close it because it is slightly away from the corner whereas before you could just throw your cursor to the bottom corner and click without thinking because the button was right at the edge. idk if that effects you.
I figure that there probably are other species in the galaxy that are at least as advanced as we are; however, by the time the Marconi transmission reaches them, we will be heavily irradiated by that one star's huge super nova, and they will be dramatically destroyed by the collision with the Andromeda galaxy. So, basically, the point is moot.
+Sean Keeney As do I. I'm willing to get over the extremely nerdy voice in favor of not being destroyed by mysteries of Minecraft science mods brought to life. Btw, that's still preferable to Pixels.
I love the more intellectual and overall smarter content. I find their recent conversations fascinating and can appreciate them more so when they express their beliefs and intelligence.
You know, this video brought up something. They mentioned Apple's facilities in China, and the conditions of work there, except what a lot of people don't realize is the Apple and Samsung use a lot of the same facilities, and they get a lot of their resources from the same places. Now, I'm not saying it isn't bad, I'm not saying that Apple isn't doing something that is demanding of human workers, I'm saying that if you're going to call out one party, you shouldn't immediately flock to another that does the same thing.
VibeCentral | Amazing Deep and Tropical House! While really I agree with that, it just makes me really despise Samsung. Not just because they don't get the heat, but also because their pretty much sending out Apple-hate propaganda.
Another common thing used to describe mix tapes or something one would say about a mix tape is "spitting hot fire." Guessing that the mix tape is so good it will burn you up or something like that.
Im glad Ross has the opinions he does and is open to say them. Religion definitely holds science back at the moment but then again as a scientist you have to understand its an inevitability
Could the meteor of wiped out the dinosaurs but life survived and we are actually already t3 lifeforms. Because how advanced does a race have to be to count as a tier 1 life form or whatever it's called?
Apple don't enforce the rules on the factories. I'm pretty sure they just get their products put together in factories that are run by more local organisations.
Smith was so confused at the beginning about the mixtapes lol. Ross was mistaken when he said it was on fire. The phrase people use it "that mixtape is fire" and other variations of that sort of thing.
This is why I love Hat films and the reason why I say Sips is a useless turd, call me salty all you want but its fuckin true that Hat films actually give us content where Sips gives us screaming, failed gameplay and just no conversation or intelligence whatsoever.
Half of their conversations are intellegent debates about work ethics and theoretical apocalyptic events, while the the other half is constant Michael Jackson noises.
I have 2 theories. 1. We are nothing we are the apes we poke fun on in laboratories. In terms of the universe, the slow kid eating glue at the back of the class. Everyone else has surpassed us and gone on to greater things and we said no. We are stubborn by nature after all. 2. We are the last ones after the universe began, not the survives but the last person on the bus. You know that woman who stays on till the last stop on the night bus chatting with the driver. Everyone is off and doing something else.
There are planets out there that have water, so that means they can hold life. Also, I saw this thing that said it could be infinite, like there are infinite universes, and it just keeps going, so it's just bigger and bigger and bigger.
I believe that extraterrestrial life (in one form or another) is certain to exist. but the likely hood of them visiting us is slim to none. they probably don't know were here, for one reason or another.

In some trials episodes, they talk about sniffing the gases from fermented poo. In other, like this one, they talk about extraterrestial civilisations and how morals are gray and shit. And that's awesome, you'll never know what you'll get!
About the Nikki & Taylor thing, 1) It wasn't about the award it was about racial discrimination in the media and 2) they never had beef, Taylor thought she meant something else but apologised straight after when she understood and they are cool now. Just letting you know!
I love how trials has slowly turned from "Lets make fun of Trott" into "Extremely deep, meaningful conversation, while making fun of Trott."
Smith is the thinker, Trott is the semi-thinker, and Ross is the speaker without really thinking too much
Smith is the deep one, Trott is the logic one. And Ross... He's got the looks. #HornyForHornby
Bese Szòràd smith is the pseudo-thinker. Reddit tier knowledge
Gowdsta. Smith is the controversial one too, I'm surprised him sounding like he's okay with sweatshops hasn't created a shitstorm yet.
Gowdsta. Smiff gives me a raging Thinker
augustip Well of course it's more complicated than that but just acting like none of this is Apple's fault and saying they can't do anything is kind of silly aha

Jack Alker They do, its called HatChat
Burtbox wow thanks I'll check it out
Louis Plunkett "They do". I mean, they DO... but not really. They barely record them anymore.
I said they do as one its not a closed series and they are slowly ramping back up Hat chat to a weekly thing
Haha, "apple, pushing technology forward" good one trott!
Lucasif The Odd In what sense?
Lucasif The Odd That may be true, but they haven't really done anything since.
+Thomas Hines Not entirely true, they revolutionised iterative versions of the same thing. They release marginally updated versions of products faster than even Call of Duty games! That's obviously an amazing achievement!
I like it when you guys get intellectual instead of spit roasting trott
I prefer the spit roasting.
A note on the iPhone. You aren't just paying for the materials and labor to MAKE the device. You are also paying for a fraction of the research and development costs.
True... they didn't think of that.
Yes but then again the labours get underpaid, the programming an iphone can just be copy pasted over to other devices so I reckon the cost to make 1 device will still be around 20 pounds
TheAllBlackMan Don't forget customer service and warrenty
Videokillar also shipping cost.
More importantly, what did they say to make them cut the video at 12:37
Ross: I'm not gonna believe in something I can't see
Smith: So you don't believe in electrons
Ross: what do you mean

I completely agree with you
Toby v1.6 But as he points out, they might have died off, or just not evolved yet... Four D Universe. Gotta look for civilisations in Time AND Space.
Toby v1.6 Just because a planet was found that visually is similar to Earth doesn't mean there could be life on it. There are dozens of factors that need to be met to support life which I assume you think would be as equally complex as humans. For example, is this planet in the habitable zone of it's parent star? Elio Encarnacion I'm pretty sure Kepler 32b is within the habitable zone of its star, hence the 'Excitement'.
Love those Peep Show references.
Apple can bailout Greece twice and still have 2bn left over
THEN WHY DONT THEY?!?!!
Sorry
lmao
Why would you bail Greece out anyway?
"Apple advances technology". I lol'd hardcore, 10/10 joke.
amak1131 WHAT? You mean that the iPhone 6 is the exact same thing as every previous iPhone?
That's a bit unfair... without Apple we wouldn't have smartphones. (And don't say blackberry phones were smartphones because they weren't.)
PeacemanNOT If Apple didn't invent them, someone else would.
***** They haven't made a major advancement in a long time.
PeacemanNOT LG prada won awards a year before that iphone was announced we where going that way apple just made it popular
To suggest that we're the most advanced civilization in the universe is really the height of human arrogance..
Brad Fuller are we really governed by religion though? I'd say we aren't
@Brad Fuller I think that religion and superstition won't fade soon. It could fade if someone could find undeniable proof that every religion and superstition is wrong then it would fade. TheDanMcBending It's a theory, made by people more intelligent than you, and it has evidence to back it up. I don't support it as I hope out there we aren't alone but it's not arrogance to claim this. Chill out.
TheDanMcBending WAIT
But if you aren't humen, what ARE you???
Lmao, that awkward cut when you guys are talking about Simon at 12:37, 11 seconds of footage cut... niceeeeeeeee. I guess someone said something they shouldn't have.
I watch these trials videos just for the high quality commentary, i don't even look at the screen most of the time. Keep going guys, I love your discussions.
5:45, he is so right. Imagine how far ahead we could be without religion. Religion has slowed down science for centuries.
SlowSlowSloth Sometimes. It's also helped push it forward at other times.
ShatteredDawn-TheRealEzreal Really? Example?
I'm honestly interested.
SeaTimeless Yeah and also destroying tons of other stuff from other religions.
what people forgets is that "extra-terestirals" doesn't necesarely mean two legged Aliens but could be something as small as a bacteria on another planet.
Or made of pure electricity.
+splinte111 Yeah. Any form of life, so long as it's not from Earth.
still easily one of the best thumbnails
I think this is probably my favourite hatfilms series! I love all the conversations that they have :p
One oh the best Trials episodes! Thanks Hat Films!
i really like the new youtube video player! :D
James Collins Holy shit, people actually liking a change TH-cam made? Is this the end of the world or something?
Nata Otum Sazac yeah i know! haha :D
James Collins Why am I the only person that doesn't have this change?
James Collins when you are watching fullscreen you have to aim for the fullscreen button to close it because it is slightly away from the corner whereas before you could just throw your cursor to the bottom corner and click without thinking because the button was right at the edge. idk if that effects you.
JamieA242 yeah that is why I hate it. I gained nothing from it but that slight annoyance.
“Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.” - Arthur C. Clarke
THe whole rampant rabbit bit in the last video had me in tears... then that intro lol
The aliens could already be here, I mean Trott could be one...
***** he's a walrus not an alien fool
+Sean Keeney He's an alien walrus!
I, for one accept our alien walrus overlords
+Sean Keeney As do I. I'm willing to get over the extremely nerdy voice in favor of not being destroyed by mysteries of Minecraft science mods brought to life. Btw, that's still preferable to Pixels.
Came for Trials
Stayed for Politics With Trott, Smith, and Ross.
I honestly should put this on in the background when I do other things.
I love the more intellectual and overall smarter content. I find their recent conversations fascinating and can appreciate them more so when they express their beliefs and intelligence.

Death_Metal_Gamer Yea. But which is easier to attack? Which looks better on a newspaper cover? Samsung or Apple?
Death_Metal_Gamer yeah, go Sony!
VibeCentral | Amazing Deep and Tropical House! While really I agree with that, it just makes me really despise Samsung. Not just because they don't get the heat, but also because their pretty much sending out Apple-hate propaganda.
This is possibly one of the most intellectual conversations the lads have had in a video for a while.
If you are interested in the Fermi Paradox, watch Kurzgesadt. They do short brief and easy to understand animations
Best little opening segment ever! Hahaha Oh god overclocking!
Another common thing used to describe mix tapes or something one would say about a mix tape is "spitting hot fire." Guessing that the mix tape is so good it will burn you up or something like that.
It's always a good day when a new TRIALS comes out.
Short Circuit is one of the best movies made by mankind
Im glad Ross has the opinions he does and is open to say them. Religion definitely holds science back at the moment but then again as a scientist you have to understand its an inevitability
The Valhalla bit got me good XD
I love trials, but I love the Hat Chat that goes off topic more.
Trott vs Zoella make-up challenge is a video I need to see. (I'm rooting for Trott of course)
"Can you use this money to sort things out? Bye. As I wave my hand" - Ross 2015
This could so easily be a Carl Pilkington quote
Trials Podcast is always amazing
I read up on the Fermi paradox and some of it is so depressing, but its worth reading into its really interesting
This is probably their most controversial video
I think its all the Zoella beef.
justsaybeth trott does his make-up better
4everis2morrow
this is true
Arvens still only 62 dislikes... best community ever XD
"Epic Meal Time: literally beef."
Smith is great at slogans
I like hos Smith set Trott and Ross up. Ross just went full foot on mouth, even Trott took advantage of it.
Could the meteor of wiped out the dinosaurs but life survived and we are actually already t3 lifeforms. Because how advanced does a race have to be to count as a tier 1 life form or whatever it's called?
I would love to see Trott's makeup tutorial
'So you don't believe in electrons'
such a good ramble!
Next Hat's birthday video should definitely be done with Epic Meal Time
hat films, half unintelligible babble, half existential questions.
Apple don't enforce the rules on the factories. I'm pretty sure they just get their products put together in factories that are run by more local organisations.
Oh, see that's what went wrong. This was the Trials video you were supposed to be in
Haha. "Could you sound more West Country?"
Love trials discussions!
Ross : "considering the religion, I don't think so" wowowowwo:DD what a fanastic talk guys!
Ross - your mix tape is on fire!
"Religion enhances astrology" - Chris Trott 2015
Smith was so confused at the beginning about the mixtapes lol. Ross was mistaken when he said it was on fire. The phrase people use it "that mixtape is fire" and other variations of that sort of thing.
When Ross mentioned religion, the Internet held its breath. But don't worry, he pulled it back
i love these chats
Hat films getting in to some nice topics today...kudos, please do that more?
This is why I love Hat films and the reason why I say Sips is a useless turd, call me salty all you want but its fuckin true that Hat films actually give us content where Sips gives us screaming, failed gameplay and just no conversation or intelligence whatsoever.
Half of their conversations are intellegent debates about work ethics and theoretical apocalyptic events, while the the other half is constant Michael Jackson noises.

Has anyone tried the subtitles option to these vids.... it adds replay value.
I wonder if the cut when they mentioned Simon (and his allegedly thrown out furby) was because they accidentally said something they shouldn't have.
Oh my gosh watch this in 1.5 speed with the new youtube update.... best decision ever
Giglio Try it with 0.5x Speed!
Joshua Turner 0.5x speed just sounds like a bunch of drunk dudes at a party arguing over nothing at all, haha.
Giglio speed settings have always been here.
Wilf Shaw Pshhhh Sure they were ;)
Giglio Fucking Genius sir, this is the most amazing thing. try it at two
so… Foxconn also make Xboxes. And a lot of Samsung phones. They have like 200,000 employees.
good talks
This video is 6 years old, wtf
This comment is three years old.
Thanks for giving me loads of makeup vids for suggested videos guys, appreciate it :\
The Nicki Minaj vs. Taylor Swift thing was about structural racism in the music industry and Taylor Swift thought she was being dragged
trials seems to put you guys into a time of thought
I love these.
Eisenhower? Trott, it's Eisenberg, Jesse Eisenberg.
Smithy sneaking in an Ali G reference? 'Check yourself before you reck yourself'
There are planets out there that have water, so that means they can hold life. Also, I saw this thing that said it could be infinite, like there are infinite universes, and it just keeps going, so it's just bigger and bigger and bigger.
Why does life necessarily need water? Sure everything on Earth relies on it but what is to say that other species have evolved to live without water?
Salad Dodger What I mean is that, if there is water on a planet, there's way more chance of life being there, or going to be, or were there.
Blahsheep I know what you meant, I just felt like starting an interesting discussion.
Only because we are dependend of water does not mean other species need water.
The thing with extraterrestrials is that there's no way we're the only beings in an infinite universe
Michael Cera is the guy from "The Social Network"? Wasn't that Jesse Eisenberg?
I think we need to start following Smiffy's camera.
I believe that extraterrestrial life (in one form or another) is certain to exist. but the likely hood of them visiting us is slim to none. they probably don't know were here, for one reason or another.
How you change change the speed
what was the Jeremy/drugs/lunch thing smith was on about? I heard peetro?
Peep Show, a British TV series
Trott is an anthropomorphic walrus... I'm pretty sure that's our proof that aliens exist.
my dad worked for apple and he was treated fine he went home at the same time as every one else and he only worked 8-10 hours and he was only the designer for the phones and computer
They apparently discovered a type of sea slug that looks like a bunny rabbit. If that exists, why not aliens?
I approve of this new video player.
What if we havent reached the fermy paradox yet
i got the book for christmas
Love the intro hahaha!!!
what is the name of the document about apple?
haha mathew leverton said that was a blast, you crazy lads.
In some trials episodes, they talk about sniffing the gases from fermented poo. In other, like this one, they talk about extraterrestial civilisations and how morals are gray and shit.
And that's awesome, you'll never know what you'll get!
I dont think trott knows what bailing out is.
how tall is trott?
You need to upload more Trials or I'll have beef with YOU!! :P
About the Nikki & Taylor thing, 1) It wasn't about the award it was about racial discrimination in the media and 2) they never had beef, Taylor thought she meant something else but apologised straight after when she understood and they are cool now. Just letting you know!
12:37 right when they start talking about Simon they cut out a part of the video!!1!1!!! ILLUMINATI
apple hasn't invented anything in a long time, its all just design, marketing, and packaging of existing technology
***** So you're saying Apple making a product design in-line with their brand, and marketing it towards hipsters is inventing technology? lol
more!!
