    Long one, but important I think.
    I did want to follow up on the thought of stigma for mental/emotional health. I had a discussion with one of my SM who brought it up and he suggested that the stigma is less what the seniors think, and more about what the younger/junior enlisted think. I honestly think the army has done a great job at quashing the stigma from senior giving the juniors a hard time, but the bigger problem/area to overcome is the junior on junior. We have these 18/19 year olds coming in and trying to show off who is who, then you have them throwing gripes around, that is where the pain is gonna come from for that SM who is struggling. I personally think if you are a leader and you hear your folks making jokes about someone going to EBH or making comments about EBH in a way that is anything less than supportive of the program ... then that is a conversation starter for you to engage with them on why they are having those views/how can we come together to have some better views. I think a lot of us have lost someone, or multiple folks to suicide and self harm, but we have to have engaging conversations with our folks before it comes up in a situation where it is happening real time.
    One scenario I think is incredibly important to be cognizant... SSG From PLT A has some sort of issue and ends up going to EBH for whatever reason. PV2 XYZ makes a comment about it and says something to the tune of less than supportive of SSG. The whole line of PV1-SPCs start making sly comments or jokes. Fast forward a month and one of those SPC who was a part of that group is now struggle with their own issues, but thinks about that entire line of comments that they and their peers made about SSG. There is a line between being over being and being supportive as a leader, but if you see that happening, you could approach it as a point for discussion and less of railing of your folks for making whatever types of comments about a situation. I personally have seen leaders ignore their people making comments that are less than supportive, and that only allows the whole thing to fester.

      Get a copy of the last MOI your Bn used; and start working on that!

    I'm going to be honest here the simple fact that the Army can't even handle their own soldiers pcs'ing genuinely contributes to low retention rate. I've heard so many horror stories and have personally experienced it myself.
