I honestly like the way Toei animated this. it kinda perfectly displays where Sanji is at this point. He can tussle with two of the big guys at the same time but struggles in terms of firepower. He's got speed and maneuverability but lacks the strength to deliver any real damage to either King or Queen at this stage.

Has Sanji ever trained his body for fighting outside of timeskip and offscreen way back in the past ? Like we see all these regular Zoro training montages with no sword, just straight up lifting giant rocks and shit , sweating his ass out to the limit. For someone who barely trains Sanji is pretty much a regular cook dude who managed to keep off King and Queen for a while where even tired out Marco . Gotta give props where it's due. Plus I don't know why he's not shown having big Haki feats. As a physical guy, that should've been THE thing for him.

The main reason sanji became my favorite character right off the beginning of the series is because of his fighting style i always thought leg kicking was cool and now that he can maneuver around fast is cool seeing it🔥
I really liked how Sanji's Skywalk sound like sonic booms in this particular episode, man was a literal fighter jet breaking the sound barrier multiple times.

Both Zoro and Sanji HAVE to be able to pull something like this off as the wings of the pirate king and the strongest fighters in the crew after Luffy. This is why I'm not surprised. Both of them were very impressive in Wano and MUCH MORE after their power ups against King and Queen

She's just constantly using Devil fruit and we didn't saw his advance conquerors coating like when she clashed against kaido. She probably underestimated law and kid. but props to Law and Kid tho, they outsmarted her and throw her out of onigashima.

Life return is part technique part gag, kid and Luffy are and digested enough food to make them immovable. Same with chopper and Luffy during whole cake.
No lie Sanji's fighting style is impressive af. His observation haki n skywalk makes him hard af to hit. But no lie King is the perfect right hand man to Kaido. King is a real badman.
The thing thst sucks is, that attack from king didnt even damage queen. That just shows how much of a tank queen is too and people underestimate him because he is so goofy.
It was also slightly shown & stated he was doing this in the manga as well. This was also before his modifications/power up, whereas we already knew Marco, was of that caliber.

that moment was deliberately set up though so that Sanji wouldn't just beat him...Sanji's body took alot of damage (without haki protecting it from injury) when Nami was in his body and we also didn't know at the time that Vergo was Doflamingos strongest subordinate. And that was him directly clashing with Vergos armament haki, which according to Doffy was Vergos biggest strenght while we know Sanjis strenght is observation haki. For a long time since the time skip Sanji was always nerfed heavily and never got a moment to go all out, and I would argue that had Zoro gotten blindsided by Doflamingos strings he also would've taken the L if they had a clash meeting like Sanji had
When i first watched the ep, i too said that Sanji should have avoided King's attack. But when you read the manga, that move was instant and did not take much time. King and Queen are both hitting against him continuously. SO i guess it was just an animation or pacing error that they made it seem there is more time in between Sanji noticing it and King attacking. Or, like you said, Sanji's body is beginning to act up.
sanji's body is already acting up. He just said he feels weird after this episode when he stands besides zoro after their combined attack against king and queen.
The anime definitely foreshadowed/hinted that Sanji is part Lunarian! When Marco starts talking about them,they show King then Sanji. Haven’t really heard anyone discussing this yet.
What's even more impressive here is that as the fight progresses, Sanji is using each clash to propell himself and take a second to aim in a direction he wants to go. Marco was reliant on grappling with his fruit similiar to logias using haki but that made him a big target. With the speed Sanji learned to manipulate and friction and haki, he cornered Queen to the point he moved so fast he had to use haki for the first time instead of cyborg enhancements that we actively see. Queen is that guy who likes to run around with an artillery but gets shocked when someone manages to get in close quarters. As for King he accellerates when his flames are put out and he could have done that the moment the dust exploded and activated the flames while he descended making Sanji's sense of timing King off.
The move Luffy did that is a CP9 ability is called “Life return” where the user is able to control every facet of their body down to the cells and manipulate it to their own will.
It does. As soon as Marco was out the picture fork then two and seeing Sanji hold them at bay really helped to also show what Marco was saying that it’s time for the new generation.

During the propulsion to Queen he was distracted and the swing was probably in action and in proximity and on top of that King can manually descend to gain momentum with gravity so he speeds up naturally. He caught Sanji off guard due to Sanji being so busy trying to hit Queen but he is being 2 v 1 by commanders.
Luffys devil fruit reveal is so crazy man cuz i feel like him being the idiot he is makes it work so much better. Things like in this episode him instantly becoming skinny or him blowing up his arm for gear 3 are only things he could think up cuz hes dumb enough to believe that those are things rubber could do which makes it the perfect power for him.
Ok I get where you’re coming from, but luffy isn’t that dumb that he thinks everything is rubber. I think it’s more so when he’s in Gear 5 his imagination let’s loose, and that gear gives him to the ability to make his imagination a reality. The gear 3rd stuff is legit his body being rubber though. Basically his fruit is the gomu gomu no mi until it awakens. His arm stretched before he even knew he ate a devil fruit, so I don't think it has anything to do with what rubber can and can't do unless he's using the awakening transformation

Sanji did so freaking well in this episode. He didn't even use the raid suit but he was able to 2v1 King and Queen for a bit. Not on par with how Marco did it, but still very impressive.

This came out the same week that Isshin and Misaki fought White, and I remember comparing Sanji and White because of the way they evaded the light beams mid flight. Sanji is so cool man. He clashed with King and used that extra momentum gained from King's swing, to blitz Queen. Great battle IQ right there. Kind landing that attack could mean two things. 1. the attack was way faster than Sanji could react (which is unlikely). 2. Sanji's body has started the awakening process, so he isn't there 100% (most likely).
I love the whole “he didn’t do any damage” ok. So, all the hits sanji took in their exchanges didn’t do any damage either. See how dumb that sounds? Here’s a fun fact about real life combat. You don’t block something that isn’t going to hurt you. You can easily tank the blow and counter if that was the case. Queen defended himself multiple times and even King did so himself. That’s all I have to say.
while i mostly agree with that, remember that even if he isnt hurting them he still MOVES them. its annoying to get tossed around even if it doesnt hurt lol so blocking still has a point.

Observation haki allows you to sense how strong your opponent is. Even if they’re more than capable of fending off sanji’s attacks, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt them.
The fact that Sanji lost to Dolfamingo and he’s like Yonko commander 3 at that point. Now he’s fighting two commanders that are stronger than Doflamingo.

The technique Luffy used was Life Return, first shown by CP9 agent against their his fight with Chopper. Luffy did also same in Impel Down after Ivankov treated him. It is believed that Life Return is essential to be mastered in order to awaken one's Zoan Devil Fruit as shown by Rob Lucci in his latest awakening.

Sanji can outpace Queen effortlessly n yet all ancient Zoan df users’ skin is tough as hell, plus if they’re using haki. King is on different level cause he’s Lunarian. At this stage, Sanji’s struggling to inflict significant damage to King n Queen. He ain’t as fast as King too. So Oda giving him an exoskeleton n more speed is actually making sense.
If not for the plot Sanji wouldn't get touched he is much faster and more maneuverable than both of them but I guess he will run out of stamina eventually.
Yea there isnt much of a difference. Because queen was never blown by sanji’s attacks. That last attack from sanji to queen didnt send queen flying, it was queen who dodged it and then king did a surprise attack to sanji.
uhhm, did you also know that zoro wouldn't get his advance conquerors haki and advance armament haki if it wasn't for enma sucking his haki right? Like, zoro didn't even trained like luffy did when he was at udon prison and somehow zoro randomly trade his old sword to a better sword conveniently, which sucks up all the haki of the users and forcing the user to release his all hidden potential in one swing thus dealing more damage. Enma is a cheat code, so is sanji's exoskeleton. But storywise, they needed this "out of nowhere buffs" because they barely have any serious fight to bloom their haki like luffy always have. I wish oda give zoro and sanji constant hard battle like luffy has always been receiving. Since fishman island, sanji and zoro are fighting against fodders(except vergo), zoro's battle against pika isn't even that hard and sanji doesn't get the fights he deserves.

Sanji is an evasive fighter, just like Law's teleportation, its hard to catch the guy he has consecutive blitz movement and great observation haki. And people think Sanji or Zoro could shit on Katakuri or even touch him that easy, when the nigga is more evasive than any other fighter in the series, and his power output can easily surpass gear 4th and then his awakening can multiply that even greater. Zoro and Sanji would struggle against Kat who is way more skilled of a fighter than King. The beast pirates were just punching bags for Zoro and Sanji to increase their attack power, because they lacked damage output to go against any admiral at that point in the story.
the thing is... black mamba is easily top tier attack speed even back at wci! luffy's observation was top tier back then too since it became advanced midway through their fight... katakuri still outperformed that with speed and observation haki of his own... these feats significantly surpass sanji's yet people dont give a damn as long as they can clap their gums for him, he beat A DISTRACTED queen who got damaged by king twice and marco aswell while having received hits thanks to him being distracted from both marco and sanji trying to accomplish essential multi tasks such as trying to eliminate hyogoro, marco and otama and as far as i know we compare combatants based on fair and square 1v1 no outside factors etc something that queen never really had any favor from that apart from black maria and her goons damaging sanji YET in between he got some rest doing nearly nothing and also sanji received 2 hits by king with 1 of them soaking that damage from king's attack thanks to raid suit durability im not implying sanji
@@okashira073 People also forget kaido having the most trouble with snakeman and was forced to used future sight to dodge it, Snakeman with conqueror haki was Luffy's strongest form before gear 5. Yet Katakuri outperformed the speed of snakeman and casually dodged it. this same dumb community then says Katakuri has trash durability/endurance when Katakuri's durability and endurance look like any other conqueror haki user we have seen. Katakuri took gear 4th punches, rammed himself tthru the gut and kept fighting for hours. When has any of Zoro's fight's lasted longer than 15 minutes, Zoro has to hold out for seconds when killer rammed him thru the chest, Kat held it for hours and at the end of fighting 11 hours ofcourse its not going to take anything incredible to put either him or luffy down, hence why they kept trading blows they were both exhausted. Covert 11 hours of fighting into durability and ur left with Katakuri looking like any other conqueror haki user (Luffy, Doffy, Zoro) that can withstand immense pain.

Luffy explains he used future sight but he was still unable to dodge a base thunder bagua, future sight allows you too see the future u then need to have enough speed to dodge. This has nothing to do with snakemans speed , Luffy defeated katakuri with speed not future sight. Snakeman in wcl was getting outsped by katakuri at point range while hybrid kaido was going more or less equally against base luffy in speed because luffy is generally pretty fast luffy's movement speed in snakeman doesnt really change its his attack speed of his punches , hybrid kaido has good attack speed like Zoro but his movement speed doesnt scale to snakeman thats why he used future sight, snakemans is literally approaching the speed of future sight which is why it was the only way to put up a good fight, its the pinnacle of speed feats because luffy's arm keeps increasing and almost appears invisible. You can even argue python in the mirror world is luffy's fastest attack based on the number of simultaneous arms he eas able to produce , the environment allowed Luffy to spam his technique because of the walls and how close the space was he could accelerate his arms even further than in an open space like onigashima. So no Luffy's snakeman has not surpassed future sight its round about the same speed and katakuri was able to dodge it point blank dealing with more arms or punches being generated from luffys python and then his mochi ability is even more perfect to counter than what kaido did. So even if luffy's punches did get a little faster which it was showned to be, eventually all snakeman attacks should approach a top speed so even wcl given enough time for example his python attack should eventually approach the speed of any attack he uses in wano

that moment was deliberately set up though so that Sanji wouldn't just beat him...Sanji's body took alot of damage (without haki protecting it from injury) when Nami was in his body and we also didn't know at the time that Vergo was Doflamingos strongest subordinate. And that was him directly clashing with Vergos armament haki, which according to Doffy was Vergos biggest strenght while we know Sanjis strenght is observation haki.
For a long time since the time skip Sanji was always nerfed heavily and never got a moment to go all out, and I would argue that had Zoro gotten blindsided by Doflamingos strings he also would've taken the L if they had a clash meeting like Sanji had
And he redeemed himself from the last time clashing against king
When i first watched the ep, i too said that Sanji should have avoided King's attack. But when you read the manga, that move was instant and did not take much time. King and Queen are both hitting against him continuously. SO i guess it was just an animation or pacing error that they made it seem there is more time in between Sanji noticing it and King attacking. Or, like you said, Sanji's body is beginning to act up.
Sanji body was acting up he could have easily avoided that attack, you never saw this in the manga it off screen

The anime definitely foreshadowed/hinted that Sanji is part Lunarian! When Marco starts talking about them,they show King then Sanji. Haven’t really heard anyone discussing this yet.
What's even more impressive here is that as the fight progresses, Sanji is using each clash to propell himself and take a second to aim in a direction he wants to go. Marco was reliant on grappling with his fruit similiar to logias using haki but that made him a big target. With the speed Sanji learned to manipulate and friction and haki, he cornered Queen to the point he moved so fast he had to use haki for the first time instead of cyborg enhancements that we actively see. Queen is that guy who likes to run around with an artillery but gets shocked when someone manages to get in close quarters. As for King he accellerates when his flames are put out and he could have done that the moment the dust exploded and activated the flames while he descended making Sanji's sense of timing King off.
The move Luffy did that is a CP9 ability is called “Life return” where the user is able to control every facet of their body down to the cells and manipulate it to their own will.

During the propulsion to Queen he was distracted and the swing was probably in action and in proximity and on top of that King can manually descend to gain momentum with gravity so he speeds up naturally. He caught Sanji off guard due to Sanji being so busy trying to hit Queen but he is being 2 v 1 by commanders.
Luffys devil fruit reveal is so crazy man cuz i feel like him being the idiot he is makes it work so much better. Things like in this episode him instantly becoming skinny or him blowing up his arm for gear 3 are only things he could think up cuz hes dumb enough to believe that those are things rubber could do which makes it the perfect power for him.
Ok I get where you’re coming from, but luffy isn’t that dumb that he thinks everything is rubber. I think it’s more so when he’s in Gear 5 his imagination let’s loose, and that gear gives him to the ability to make his imagination a reality. (Hence the Gorosei stating that his DF has the most ridiculous ability)

The gear 3rd stuff is legit his body being rubber though. Basically his fruit is the gomu gomu no mi until it awakens. His arm stretched before he even knew he ate a devil fruit, so I don't think it has anything to do with what rubber can and can't do unless he's using the awakening transformation

This came out the same week that Isshin and Misaki fought White, and I remember comparing Sanji and White because of the way they evaded the light beams mid flight. Sanji is so cool man.
He clashed with King and used that extra momentum gained from King's swing, to blitz Queen. Great battle IQ right there.
Kind landing that attack could mean two things.
1. the attack was way faster than Sanji could react (which is unlikely).
2. Sanji's body has started the awakening process, so he isn't there 100% (most likely).

Observation haki allows you to sense how strong your opponent is. Even if they’re more than capable of fending off sanji’s attacks, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt them.

The technique Luffy used was Life Return, first shown by CP9 agent against their his fight with Chopper. Luffy did also same in Impel Down after Ivankov treated him. Yea there isnt much of a difference. Because queen was never blown by sanji’s attacks. That last attack from sanji to queen didnt send queen flying, it was queen who dodged it and then king did a surprise attack to sanji.

uhhm, did you also know that zoro wouldn't get his advance conquerors haki and advance armament haki if it wasn't for enma sucking his haki right? Like, zoro didn't even trained like luffy did when he was at udon prison and somehow zoro randomly trade his old sword to a better sword conveniently, which sucks up all the haki of the users and forcing the user to release his all hidden potential in one swing thus dealing more damage.
Enma is a cheat code, so is sanji's exoskeleton. But storywise, they needed this "out of nowhere buffs" because they barely have any serious fight to bloom their haki like luffy always have.
I wish oda give zoro and sanji constant hard battle like luffy has always been receiving. Since fishman island, sanji and zoro are fighting against fodders(except vergo), zoro's battle against pika isn't even that hard and sanji doesn't get the fights he deserves.

One Piece episode 395 12:23 into the episode zoros first instance of conquerors haki
Sanji is an evasive fighter, just like Law's teleportation, its hard to catch the guy he has consecutive blitz movement and great observation haki. And people think Sanji or Zoro could shit on Katakuri or even touch him that easy, when the nigga is more evasive than any other fighter in the series, and his power output can easily surpass gear 4th and then his awakening can multiply that even greater. Zoro and Sanji would struggle against Kat who is way more skilled of a fighter than King. The beast pirates were just punching bags for Zoro and Sanji to increase their attack power, because they lacked damage output to go against any admiral at that point in the story.
the thing is... black mamba is easily top tier attack speed even back at wci! luffy's observation was top tier back then too since it became advanced midway through their fight... katakuri still outperformed that with speed and observation haki of his own... these feats significantly surpass sanji's yet people dont give a damn as long as they can clap their gums for him, he beat A DISTRACTED queen who got damaged by king twice and marco aswell while having received hits thanks to him being distracted from both marco and sanji trying to accomplish essential multi tasks such as trying to eliminate hyogoro, marco and otama and as far as i know we compare combatants based on fair and square 1v1 no outside factors etc something that queen never really had any favor from that apart from black maria and her goons damaging sanji YET in between he got some rest doing nearly nothing and also sanji received 2 hits by king with 1 of them soaking that damage from king's attack thanks to raid suit durability

Yet Katakuri outperformed the speed of snakeman and casually dodged it. this same dumb community then says Katakuri has trash durability/endurance when Katakuri's durability and endurance look like any other conqueror haki user we have seen. Katakuri took gear 4th punches, rammed himself tthru the gut and kept fighting for hours. When has any of Zoro's fight's lasted longer than 15 minutes, Zoro has to hold out for seconds when killer rammed him thru the chest, Kat held it for hours and at the end of fighting 11 hours ofcourse its not going to take anything incredible to put either him or luffy down, hence why they kept trading blows they were both exhausted. Covert 11 hours of fighting into durability and ur left with Katakuri looking like any other conqueror haki user (Luffy, Doffy, Zoro) that can withstand immense pain.

His snakeman and boundman strength and speed increased that much off his base and then the insane haki was added on to it. Wano snakeman luffy is lightyears upon lightyears away from wci version unless you are stupid and stuck in the pass.
And about sanji even at whole cake island sanji was THE FIRST PERSON to ever doge katakuri and he did it quite easily even katakuri was shocked. Right now both sanji and zoro would COMPLETELY wash that guy no comparison whatsoever
Not in speed or power or haki. Sanjis haki determines if his legs burn off or no so it's way above normal armament. Because when he got ifrit jambe he said he was training on powering up his armament haki so his fckin legs won't burn off when you are faced with that sort of challenge in your fighting style because your life litterally depends on it you better believe it's gonna be an insane amount of armament haki and quality

Luffy explains he used future sight but he was still unable to dodge a base thunder bagua, future sight allows you too see the future u then need to have enough speed to dodge. This has nothing to do with snakemans speed , Luffy defeated katakuri with speed not future sight. Snakeman in wcl was getting outsped by katakuri at point range while hybrid kaido was going more or less equally against base luffy in speed because luffy is generally pretty fast luffy's movement speed in snakeman doesnt really change its his attack speed of his punches , hybrid kaido has good attack speed like Zoro but his movement speed doesnt scale to snakeman thats why he used future sight, snakemans is literally approaching the speed of future sight which is why it was the only way to put up a good fight, its the pinnacle of speed feats because luffy's arm keeps increasing and almost appears invisible. You can even argue python in the mirror world is luffy's fastest attack based on the number of simultaneous arms he eas able to produce , the environment allowed Luffy to spam his technique because of the walls and how close the space was he could accelerate his arms even further than in an open space like onigashima. So no Luffy's snakeman has not surpassed future sight its round about the same speed and katakuri was able to dodge it point blank dealing with more arms or punches being generated from luffys python and then his mochi ability is even more perfect to counter than what kaido did. So even if luffy's punches did get a little faster which it was showned to be, eventually all snakeman attacks should approach a top speed so even wcl given enough time for example his python attack should eventually approach the speed of any attack he uses in wano
