It is Monday morning and I am finally able to catch up with you. Last week I had all my family to stay - it was a big event as one boy lives in Finland and the other lives in Germany. It was the first time my boys have met up for maybe 7 years and the very first time my grandson has met his Uncle!!! They adore each other. So now they have all gone back to their homes and we are all quiet again. I am so happy that you have finished so much Jana. You just keep going on as you are as we love you. Regards Jenny x

Jana you were on fire today! I smiled, I laughed, I enjoyed myself. "Sarah, mother of gnomes" is a GREAT title for me. My kids call me the queen of gnomes, but I have always felt that the gnomes (and I) are much more egalitarian than that.

And lastly (maybe?) I really love your mushrooms! Those colours! The big size! The mossy setting! And the choice to use boucle for the gills is so clever.

To this I say, absolutely YES! I play everyday and I think it's a part of me. Not always being in serious mode is essential to a balanced (ish) lifestyle.
Also may I influence you in making a cute little hedgehog out of yarn scraps? I fell down that hole a few weeks ago and now most of my knit worthy people have one! I've taken the liberty to change the color of the nose to better suit the recipient.
I used Woodland Tales Animal Mobile pattern
by Amanda Berry on Revelry(free pattern). And only went up to 33 st in the body. Didn't take long and you will have a new friend in no time! We use ours as emotional support hedgehog! Bonus, they fit in your pocket, so you can bring them everywhere 🦔

Jana, the dress colour-work is glorious. And the Star Wars jumper is lovely. Love the mushrooms. You are very creatively gifted. We had wonderful autumn weather here in Sth Australia for over 4 months. An hr ago it's now blowing a gale and raining which is the usual for much of the year.

Jana, your Wervel dress is beautiful, and I'm glad you had footage of it at the end so we could see it full length. I now love neon colors paired with neutral brown colors, instead of pairing neons with black or dark navy. The Half+Half Triangles Wrap that I am now knitting is in neon Bright Flamingo and neutral Peach Stone, turning out to be a very pretty combination.
Thank you, Vivian! Neons paired with dark colours definitely give more of an 80s vibe, while with beige it feels much softer and contemporary.

Not good here in Canada either. Our Carbon tax was raised this April too. It’s killing businesses, and the new government budget is ripping the ships hole even bigger. Hoping now there are life boats! So my empathy for you there.

Your Wervel dress is amazing Jana. I really want to do a scrappy something. I just love your technique and your colors. I really don’t have those colors so this would require a long term change of color choices on my part right! I’m knitting a lavender Tankar tee that was started last July I made a commitment to knit 2” a day and it will be done. Tomorrow I am hemming a fancy gown for a young friend😬😁I was kinda voluntold or something, not really sure I agreed to this but I’m in…sigh. When I get this wip done my mind is swimming with ideas. Little idea fish zipping about disappearing and reappearing. I’m think Oh I could do it with this yarn. Later I think what was it going to do with this yarn in the whole process repeats itself over and over. I have yarn coming in the mail… I was going to print the pattern to remind myself but the printer is not printing/ recognizing my Wi-Fi. Sigh… Good to see you Jana. Snow!. ? Discouraging this time of year Tulips are ready to bloom so it can still snow here in Minnesota you never know, I have seen snow the end of May. Sweater weather is good

In Tasmania coming into winter, so I am organising wool for crochet winter projects. Need maths for a black, white and grey couch blanket, which is going to be a friendship project. And planning a purple and a green and a purple jumper. Also it must be in the air but I am also considering a Star Wars jumper. Waiting on my Holst Garn Space colour blue. Also I need to finish a Monet style water Lilly rug. And two hexagon kitchen pot holders as gifts. 🇦🇺🎸⚡️🤘🏼🤘🏿💋❤️

Nothing like finishing a sweater on hold! My sister just gave me necessary measurements for a rannaculas. I had ro make another because I forgot to make notes and stitch count was odd. So I get to frog some of it. It uses ribbon yarn and I find it not fun.

Your dress is gorgeous! I have to make those mushrooms! They look so good. I’ll try bigger yarn too. Yesterday I went on a rant just like yours. Retirees like Bob and me just can’t afford the increases anymore. Bob has been retired since 1999 so you know how much those dollars are worth today. Just don’t get too old. You can’t keep up with the inflation. It’s killing us. Now my rant is over too. Weather here in Michigan is the same temperature as yours. 30degrees here, which is about -1 or -2 degrees Celsius. No snow here though. I hope it is gone for good but no planting until Memorial Day, which is the last weekend in May. Enjoy your mom.

BTW I can totally relate to your concern regarding the tax raises in your country. I closed my yarn shop years ago, because the regulations and taxes here were to heavy for me to operate with enough for me to survive. The last year of my shop I actually worked only to pay taxes etc. And when I had to start pay the mortgages of my parents it was not possible to keep the shop. So it's totally relatable when you say people need to think about cutting their losses and decide how to go forward. It's not giving up but thinking economical and towards the future. The important thing is to learn from it and take the experience with you for any future endeavours. I do hope you're keeping on doing fine and pursue your dreams as long as you want.
