  • China’s attempts to disrupt critical U.S. infrastructure are operating at an unprecedented scale as tensions between Washington and Beijing have been heightened in a series of disputes over trade, foreign policy and the future of Taiwan.
    FBI director Christopher Wray told intelligence leaders and lawmakers gathered at a national security conference that Beijing is continuing to ramp up its capabilities, which comes as more attention has been given to the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine that have dominated national security concerns in recent months.

    Is this a warning from 2000? The FBI has been warning people about this for years. The question I have is WHY, after 20 years of warnings and thousands of attacks, aren’t companies and government prepared. I am genuinely curious.

    • @RangeTimeRicky24
      @RangeTimeRicky24 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Why?
      Because politicians don’t get elected by saying they want to spend more money on stuff that hasn’t happened yet.
      Because people think it’ll never happen to them.
      Because Americans don’t like to fix it till it’s broken.
      Because we’ve become or always were complacent….
      I could go on.

      Cause the more security in cyber the harder it is to use. Example the best experience has no security and the most secure the harder it is to use. Such as it’s more secure to have a personal network with closed ports and no connection to the internet but it gets hard to do anything cause everything runs on the internet. There’s a constant balancing act of productivity (ease of use) and security.

      And it’s amazing these warnings came to fruition just days after they were issued. But now that people know it’s possible, maybe people will allow the government to spend more money on this thing they were supposed to be doing the whole time but apparently have not been.

      @@RangeTimeRicky24yes Americans are notorious for crying about things in their daily lives breaking after not fixing it the whole time.
      But Americans don’t have the job of setting up national defense. We have a branch of government for that. For the research, development, and implementation of defense and defensive strategies.
      Why have they not been doing their job? And what have they been doing?
