The second of my China videos where I lived there for a month! A week of visiting spending time with my grandparents, cute cafes, quiet and peaceful times, good views & good food, and exploring Beijing as an adult! I had the best time...editing this video was hard because it made me sad to watch all this clips :( but I'm so grateful that I made this vlog and will cherish it forever. Excited for the next China video which is coming out next month...I visited the prettiest place on earth. abc=american born chinese
Thank you for watching this video, it means a lot to me! Sending you love xoxo. Hope you have a wonderful day~

I love your movies. You make great content. You are a great artist and I love that you are honest.
I would like to know your Goodreads link. Can someone share it with me? I have lots of good english book recommends if you are interested.
@@artistlovepeace was going to comment the same thing! but she's left her link in the description box :)
Please everyone, cherish your loved ones while they’re still here, and while you still can. Jasmine, this time you spent with grandparents is such a beautiful time that you’ll look back on and be deeply comforted and touched by. I’m so happy for you and your grandparents to have had this time together. Wish I could see mine again…
As someone who's never been, I've always imagined Beijing to be such a busy, bustling city, but you've made it look so tranquil.
It’s a very big and widespread city, so while touristic places are busy the rest is pretty calm.
My grandfather was an artist, too. I never got to spend much time with him before he died. This video makes me both sad and incredibly happy to get to witness you enjoying eachothers company.
this is so heart wrenching and heartwarming at the same time - sending you support and love! thank you for sharing this with us
it's so inspiring to see your grandparents creatively express themselves in an artistic way. I feel like (for what I witnessed in my life), creative expression is usually dropped after a certain age. So this was just beautiful and inspiring to see. Loved the entire video.
It just so happened that I bumped into your Grandpa's exhibition in Beijing last weekend, not knowing he was your grandpa, and loved it. Given that I also haven't been back in China in three years, this unexpected connection felt very warm.
I'm teary-eyed while watching how deeply connected you are with your grandparents. Really beautiful 💗
One of the best video of yours. I adore my grandparents so much so seeing you bond with them makes me happy and you showcasing their talent and passion in art is just makes my heart warm.
jasmine😭these little moments you collected brought me to tears...thank you for being a genuine, thoughtful, and all in all lovely human on and off screen, and for so authentically, and artfully sharing your life with us. so glad to get to call you friend. hope we'll catch each other again soon somewhere in the world 🫶
This vlog made me so emotional. My grandparents were from mainland china too, I miss them so much. Thanks for sharing the beauty of you and your grandparents and china ❤️
I watched the video, it was wonderful! I wanted to thank you for sharing these beautiful moments with your grandfather and showcasing his wood carving skill with us. I wish you and your family health and happiness always. Your grandfather's talent is truly amazing. Keep up the great work . ❤❤❤
For the past year, I've been working towards my dream of moving over to China for a few months to live with my grandma, who moved over when I was younger (to NZ) to help raise me. This video made me so emotional and reaffirmed this dream that I have. Thank you.
Thank you for a beautiful video. It's kind of open my eyes to a more (modern?) artsy cultural rich China. And you really drive the point of cherishing your elders while they're still around. Thank you.
it's so peaceful during watching grandpa sculpts the work.
just so peaceful🥺 all the historical sites and how chill beijingers are, I miss beijing so much( tho not from there lol
Their whole house is so beautiful. Love to see your grandfather sculpt, his works look amazing!
now i see more and more where you get your gift from your grandpa :) this was such a beautiful peaceful vlog.i would love to visit beijing china someday on my bucket list, such a gorgeous place. you definetly seem more at peace there even your space there and grandpas studio is picture perfect.such a wholesome vlog :D really enjoyed it.
these visiting grandparents vlogs always make me tear up, i wish i had been able to spend time with mine before they passed :( i feel like theres always something missing from my life without them, my advice to everyone is to please cherish your grandparents while you still can
It's because NYC and much of America has a severe level of social decay and chaos as well as a culture rooted in violence and manipulation. In NYC when I head out, I always feel like I gotta be ready for a fight, when I was in Asia, I could relax, I actually smiled and had genuine conversations with people without wondering when they are going to insult me to assert some type of dominance over me when they thought my defenses were down. I feel like I gotta be ready to insult anyone and everyone otherwise I be found lacking when they do. Not to mention being Asian, injustice is the norm where if someone attacks one of us, society and the law treats it as whatever, when you fight back, they suddenly want to claim you were the attacker and it wants to give you the harshest punishment they can feasibly give you or threaten to retaliate against other people like you who aren't involved in your fight.
Being in Asia literally healed my soul, then I had to go back to the rot. After a while all the fancy stores and eateries aren't going to be enough to blind you from these realities.
Also tencent 3 body is better.
Omg I can’t believe you and Evelyn are friends! I discovered her earlier this year and love her content. You two are a dream team ❤️
Oh this was so healing to watch, my grandparents are no longer with us and it's hard to give myself permission to feel all the layers of emotion that come with the change. Watching these beautiful moments with your grandparents helped me tap into those emotions, so thank you 💗
I just started watching Evelyn's videos and it's so cute seeing you and her hang out together awww
such a beautiful portrait of beijing
wow your grandfathers work is stunning!
My first impression of your grandpa was omg a shifu like in my Chinese dramas 😂
Thank you for sharing a little bit of your life with us
Until this day is my 10th year not able to go back to Beijing since I left from middle school.. and was always afraid if it has become a place no longer familiar or foreign to me, but in this video it brings me so much memories also thought of my grandparents.. some parts it’s always the Beijing in my memories.. thank you for this video, I hope to go back someday soon too ..❤
please can u share ur goodreads, your taste in books is really immaculate and cool
I really enjoy your China vlogs. Lovely to see you and your grandparents 🫶🏽
This is so beautiful to see time being spent with grandparents. Memories you’ll have forever. Beijing looks so beautiful. 💙

This video was so good for my soul.. I miss China & my grandparents
I always see the beauty of life in your videos, thank you jasmine!
This video is so so lovely!! It brought me so much comfort, thank you!!!💛
im sure you feel stressed in NYC because thats the life you built from scratch so the stress of your career and being in the city adds stress to you. it totally makes sense why you feel so relaxed, you only have what you traveled with and are reconnecting and relaxing with yourself and your family.
There is something so peaceful and beautiful about your videos that is very inspiring. Thanks ❤
I always love watching ur videos they bring me so much peace (first comment)

This vlog make me really emotional thank you for it
I recommend reading “Story of our lives & others” or “Exhalation” by Ted Chiang which I think is a bit of a softer approach to sci-fi whilst mixing in a very genuine human touch. Definitely some of my favorites
💌i love ur book list updates!! 🫶 such a peaceful and inspiring video as always, hope u had the greatest time in china
I love your vlogs thankyou for uploading so often🩷🩷🩷🩷
love these videos :')
Omg the lashes look so good
Video so good I started appreciating the little things in life again
great vlog. love the editing
Jas, would you be willing to do a quick breakdown of how you color grade your clips? Even a short thing on Instagram or something. I love the feel of your videos and, as someone who makes her own vlogs, am always tripped up on color grading and light correction :) ty in advance!
One of my favorite sci-fi/fantasy series of all time is the Locked Tomb series, starting off with Gideon the Ninth! It does take some braincell effort to read at times (especially the second book), but it's such a unique and poetic story -- I cannot recommend it enough!
Really enjoyed this video. Renewed my interest in tattooing. Hope to go to New York and China someday
voyage~~~ enjoy your time in Beijing
also read yoko ogawa (the memory police) - but didn't love it:( just bought homegoing can't wait ti read it📚
its cool that we randomly pick up the skills that our grandparents had or parents left off from which is crazy honestly idk if its subcontiously ingrained in us and part of our dna
This was wonderful thank you for sharing 🩶
I loved this❤️
Very deep culture family I can see that 😂😂 你們家應該是大家族 很深文化底蘊
I've heard Walking Practice by Dolki Min is a great sci-fi novel! (and a quick read) I'd love to see what you think!
I wish one day I live like you❤
One of my favourite things about travelling is meeting random cats on the street 😆
Take me to Beijing in May please! lol
GoodReads? I just recently started using that to track my books, I’d love to see what you have on your list Jas!
Thank you for sharing. :)
if you've ever visited london you will love open water!
voyage!!!
supprise to see tapiocapress😁
Seu avô é um artista muito talentoso Parabéns
Hi Jasmine I loved this moments , l love how you showed us Beijing in a different way , I will come to Beijing after tomorrow and I liked the last restaurant and how in the third floor there was a cafe ,but I did not find it in the app 百度地图😢😢can you write it for me in Chinese so I can go there🙏
I am curious how people view tattoos in Beijing, are they accepted like in America or is it taboo like in Japan for example? I hope you had an amazing time!
Generally speaking, Chinese people are not very accepting of tattoos. But you can find many tattoo shops in China, and some avant-garde young people choose tattoos, which are not taboo. Most Chinese people's view on tattoos ranges from "I don't really like it, but it's someone else's choice and I can accept it".
❤❤❤❤
did a little pig squeal when i saw the update, your blogs give me so much life (& peace) 🩵
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K Dick is the inspiration for the Blade Runner series!! I would recommend that or A Pleasure to Burn by Ray Bradbury. They’re both pretty well known sci fi books, but I enjoyed them. Or anything by Ursula K Le Guin :>
Jasmine,看到我,我想买你爷爷的作品,很喜欢,有什么购买渠道吗,我住在Texas,谢谢!
A sci fi book I just finished that is my new fave is ‘’the surviving sky” by Kritika h. Rao
VOYAGE!!
where is your brown tote bag from? :,)
Being Ashamed of being Chinese/Asian, and self hate seems to be endemic to the Asian-American experience....Some to a point where we become friends or more with the people who make us feel ashamed in the first place thinking we gain protection and acceptance by being their token friend or play thing. Will we ever stop being so pathetic? hope so.
🙂👏☺
