  • Scientists in Singapore are using silk microneedles, which are normally used on humans, to deliver nutrients directly into crops to improve yield. Dr Daisuke Urano and Dr Han Yang Yang from the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) shared more about the technique, as well as the institute's food security programme.
