For those who dont know theres a story behind Yuqi's voice, she talks about it in an interview, i dont remember all the specifics but basically she got quite sick when she was young and got stuck at child care without her parents and she cried all day which damaged her vocal cords. Growing up she struggled with her low voice. But she eventually learn to overcome her fear and began to use it to her advantage. Eventually through training and some help from others she learned to sing again in a higher register when she wants to :). Not 100% sure but it seems like the giant video could be in reference to her struggles. Thanks who ever requested this!
I love Yuqi, so much. An absolute bias-wrecker, like every other member of (G)I-dle. She took the lead on writing and producing "Giant", which I immediately loved and has remained my favorite of the two. On the other hand, Yuqi did a live performance of "Bonnie and Clyde" where she actually played the guitar... so that was pretty cool.
I can't tell you how many times I listened to Bonnie & Clyde when it first came out. Of course, I bought it. Yuqi might be my top basis in all of K-Pop. She also has a ton of great solo covers from Maneskin to Adele to Miley Cyrus.

A Page (the mini-album? single album? these make up) is a _stunning_ piece of work, and yes, Yuqi has been my (G)I-DLE bias from the get-go; her voice (and the rest) won me over pretty much instantly. Bonnie and Clyde is an absolute jam, but Giant makes me _feel,_ actually well up listening to it (maybe I can blame the spicy rice I just had right now, but normally that's not an excuse 😏). At some point for Patreon, you may be interested in checking out her Learn Way series on 1theK Originals; a series of short (15 min or so) videos where she trains for different jobs. And she is _hilarious._ I don't know if I've used the term "friendship bulldozer" at you before, but it's what I call people like Yuqi, who are often boisterous and in-your-face, and by all rights _should_ be incredibly annoying, but it comes with such friendliness that they will _make_ you love them... think SuA (who, coincidentally, is friends with Yuqi 😜). Learn Way demonstrates this perfectly, and also why she's such a boon to any variety show... 😂

And yes, the animation of Giant combined with the lyrics is definitely very emotional, reminds of the Gris videogame which also has such powerful visuals that give you feels.

Your pronunciation "you-key" is close to the Chinese pronunciation. "Woo-gi" is the Korean pronunciation. So, either is fine. ; )
