I consider myself lucky I have Fiori’s, Betos, and Slice on Broadway all within walking distance for me, makes watch parties for Penguins or Steelers games a lot more enjoyable and nice to have some options
Thanks for the video. I'd say Vincent's and Caliente deserve a mention. Also pretty sure Slice on Broadway is in Beechview, not Dormont. And it's pronounced: "eye-ELL-oh's".
I'm a huge fan of Mineo's !! It's kind of NY Style. It's very hot once severed and needs to settle a few minuets. Everybody has different tastes but I give it an 8.5 one of my highest ratings for Pizza ever. When I come back to Pittsburgh I always have to make a stop here.
i worked in a pizza parlour for 2.5 years, i always get cheese pizza, when i worked, on the day they delivered ground linguica sausage made at the portugues factor, we would make a pizza for our lunch break, ground liinguica in little tiny balls with lots of onions, and extra topping cheese of cheddar, provolone and parmesean___OMG the best thing ever
The Village Inn pizza in squirrel hill has single slice pizza and I really like them. I don't know if Shelly Pie in Turle Creek sells single slices but they are good. My top two loves for pizza is Gateway Grill in Monroeville and Vincent's in Forest Hills. But I don't think they serve by the slice.
I am so thankful for this video and the comments. I'm here working and I'm going to Visit Pittsburgh this weekend. I'm going to run a train on these places
Just got done binging all of these. Amazing videos. You’ve done this city proud. I’m an adopted plant from North in Erie myself and it’s awesome. Subbed with notifications also in hopes of future vids
So good that you tried the Murray Ave places; I lived there and was underwhelmed. Walked past to go to what is now Capezzuto's. They are supposed to continue the tradition. Backstory: I get Italy is where pizza originated, but NYC is where it was defined in the US. I lived in NYC (city, not bridges and tunnels). I've also tried all but Benny's in your video. We do sausage and mushroom; YMMV. GOOD, but: - Fazio's is my Son's fave, and it has cred with me. NYC-style pie. - Pizza Italia is my fave. Real NYC-style pie. - Vincent's Pizza Park is weird... weirdly wonderful. My fave pizza ANYWHERE, but it is different. Vinnie pie... Lelulo's is a new fave; they do something with their mushrooms that is awesome.
I Grew up in Brookline and Love Fiores and still eat there today, However the best pizza in the south hills IMHO is "SLICE ON BROADWAY"! Fiores's cheese and I dont get along anymore, I think they switched to another company. Betos is BOMB and not only is their pizza awesome but they've always had the BEST Subs in town. You did miss Calientes in Mt Lebo, They won best pizza in AMERICA the past few years.
You hit my top two right off the bat! Fiori's is the best followed closely by Slice on Broadway. Not a fan of Beto's though. You either love it or hate it
The owner of Aiellos used to work for Mineos, that's why they might taste similar to some. I don't think they are that similar, Aiellos has always been my favorite and I usually avoid Mineos.
Growing up in the 60-70s Mineo's and Beto's.Just looked up Beto's. The place I was thinking was in Oakland near CMU. Again this was more than 40 years ago.
I miss vesuvios, or pizza sola after the name change, in the Southside. I worked there for awhile and never got sick of it. Fiori's will always be my favorite though.
Osso’s Pizza in Washington PA. Been made the same way for over 70 years. You get one piece of pepperoni, no other toppings. It’s the go to place there.
I recall Osso's growing up. I also grew up on Jay's in McDonald - you either love it or hate it. It gives me gas, but I love it. I haven't been there in about 12-15 years though, since my parent moved.
Don't shortchange your pizza experience by limiting yourself to cheese only and by-the-slice! Vincent's is Serious Pizza, thin crust in the middle with chewy puffy sourdough-like crust (aka."bones"). And topping toppings toppings, which a.cheese-only order does not do justice. Susage, pepperoni, mushroom is my personal fave -- a benchmark for all other contenders. But the "Everything But' (their combo but withoit anchovies) is damn fine. Most people can eat only one or two slices at a sitting! Vincent's Pizza Park on Ardmore Blvd in Forest Hills.
Fioris pro tip: order it well done, crack the box and let the cheese settle. Julianos in Robinson is one of the best pizzeria around. Pro tip: order the pan pizza and a side order of meatballs. Bellsarios in west Mifflin is good quality and consistent. Pro tip: order the pepperoni rolls. Genoas downtown is good on account of you can order pizza at 2am. Pro tip: order the buffalo chicken pie. Mineos I’m not a fan at all it’s overloaded and overpowered by the cheese. (It has a distinct taste🥴) Aiellos is decent but basic. Both those places are way over hyped in my opinion. Vincent’s I think just has fans due to nostalgia. It’s literally just cheese and grease and you have to eat it like lasagna.
Davide's looks like a slice of cardboard with orange stuff on it. You call that super super doughy?? You need to try Vincent's!! The crust is as big around as your wrist!! I don't know what their slices go for these days, I've never bought one but, they used to be a buck and most people got filled with just one slice!! Did you ask any of those places if people have their pizza's flown via FedEx across the country? That's happened a number of times at Vincent's!
These arent in the city buttttttt Police Station pizza BOMB... Frank's also BOMB... both in Ambridge... Sir Pizza also good in a burb around Pittsburgh.
I’ve never been to Pittsburgh, but we have Primanti Bro’s’s in South Florida two locations. Pizza is great. I know they were originally from Pittsburgh. So maybe you wanna try that place.
How do you do a Pizza review and not take one step into (Little Italy) Bloomfield? I personally can't take your review seriously. With all due respect thank you for the content but you're way off the map my friend.
Fiori's is awesome! Beto's is an acquired taste...either you like it or hate it. It's been there for so long. I lived in Dormont from 1964 - 1978 before moving to the North Hills and couldn't find anything nearly as good in the North Hills as Fiori's, Mineo's, (which was originally in Dormont just off the corner of W Liberty and Peermont), or Vincent's. Fiori used to work at Mineo's in Dormont when I was a kid.
I consider myself lucky I have Fiori’s, Betos, and Slice on Broadway all within walking distance for me, makes watch parties for Penguins or Steelers games a lot more enjoyable and nice to have some options
It is nice! What’s your favorite?
@@DrewAddis I end up going to Betos the most out of any of them so probably Betos but it’s really hard to choose
YES! BEST AREA IN THE CITY!!!
#1 Fiori’s - Brookline; #2 Mineo’s Squirrel Hill (NOT MT LEBANON); #3 Vincents Forest Hills.
I never tried slice on Broadway is it better than furies
How has nobody mentioned Badamo's?? But yeah Mineo's, Fiori's, Aiello's, Benny Fiero's to name some.
Nothing does it for me like mineos, followed by Fioris
Iron born and Angelo’s in Bloomfield
Thanks for the video. I'd say Vincent's and Caliente deserve a mention. Also pretty sure Slice on Broadway is in Beechview, not Dormont. And it's pronounced: "eye-ELL-oh's".
I almost did Caliente so I'll have to get there soon!
Caliente is nothing either nothing special
“Best pizza” is always such a hotly debated topic! Love the bravery for taking on this topic!! My mouth is watering just looking at those slices 🍕
Who advised you on places to go???
Napoli pizza is always overlooked and it's great
I like it better than Mineo's or Aiello's.
Police station Pizza Ambridge been around the longest blows everybody away.

Aww man! You missed Junction Pizza (Di Salla's) in Homestead!
I am so thankful for this video and the comments. I'm here working and I'm going to Visit Pittsburgh this weekend. I'm going to run a train on these places
Go to Vincent's Pizza Park next time you come back to Pittsburgh pizza is 🔥
Yessssss

THIS
Doughboys pizza in the the rocks is fantastic. Iron board is awesome too
yep
used to go to VINCENT’S. My favorite pepperoni and mushroom
Aroma in Clinton is the best I've ever had. When I lived in the city my favorites were Nicks in Brighton Heights and Fiorris
Cheese pizza only!
It’s all about what you like !
Just got done binging all of these. Amazing videos. You’ve done this city proud. I’m an adopted plant from North in Erie myself and it’s awesome. Subbed with notifications also in hopes of future vids

OMG. HUN. HOW COULD YOU NOT GO TO VINCENTS IN FOREST HILLS? “THE VINNIE PIE”. YOU NEED TO DO ANOTHER VIDEO AFTER U GO THERE!!
Because they are ass
Because Vincent is ass ain’t nobody want dough tons of dough and the taste sucks
Vincent’s is awful

A very lowkey Amazing pizza place is Napolis right above aiellos worth a try.

The fact that Napoli’s goes so overlooked is baffling to me
You gotta venture a bit outside the city for the best. Luciano's in Mars has the best pizza.
my city! love the music to this already in the intro!
Now try Vincent's in Forest Hills on the Ardmore.
Fioris is one of my favorites but definitely missed dipietros in west view
Growing up in the 60-70s Mineo's and Beto's.Just looked up Beto's. The place I was thinking was in Oakland near CMU. Again this was more than 40 years ago.
Banksville Road. Going since 70's.
Betos style is called Ohio Valley style. The OG of this style is DiCarlos in downtown Steubenville Ohio.
Wellsburg and Wheeling as well.
@@courtbeall7768 Do Carlos branched out there. But the OG Ohio valley style was dicarlos in Steubenville
At fioris part I have definitely thrown up on those stairs.

Vincent pizza park .
Really fun to see this. Next time go to Spak Brothers for absolutely amazing pizza!

Did I go to Vincent's Pizza somewhere like Bethel Park? I like how you can tell which he likes by how much he consumes at each place.
Well done, love this video Drew! How many hours did you have to cycle to work those calories off ;)
Too many hahaha
Beto's and Vincents are the best!
100th comment! Must try Harry’s pizza in the south hills best pizza best salad trust me you won’t regret it!

You missed napoli’s in sq hill but i respect these takes

Outside the city, look for Rockaway Pizza in White Oak.
good video I just moved to Pittsburgh guess I have time to try them all
Slice on Broadway is in Beechview, not Dormont (which means it's actually in city limits). Thanks for the reviews -- your channel is great!
Just what I was going to say. Looked like Beechview.
i am going to pittsburgh find some places to get a philly cheesesteak sub. so far I cant find a single place there on line

Vincents is great, was much better. But not close to Mineos. And nobody ever mentions police station, it's a focaccia pie, but it's great stuff.
dude... how'd you skip piccolo forno?
You were so close to Bloomfield aka little Italy and didn’t try Grazianos or Angelo’s? Btw,Angelo’s has the best white pizza and wedgies in the world.
Why do they still call it Little Italy, it's by far not that anymore.
My go to in the Southside is Crust Almighty on 27th Street. Great Hogie too. Dante's in the South Hills for a Deep Dish Style Pizza.
Angelo’s in Bloomfield
Got to hit up Rockaway in White Oak for a slice
Props on powering through this 😂
It wasn't easy hahaha
I have yet to find a legitimate NY slice in Pittsburgh; thank you for the Fiori suggestion.
Whether NY or not Bella Notte in the strip
That's because PGH pizza is different from NY.
