Mr. D'Auria was the Bozo I grew up with in the mid-to-late '80s. My mom bought some cheap buckets and little prizes and we played the Grand Prize Game at my 8th or 9th birthday party.
I was a very young kid at the time, but I can remember when they changed Bozos. Joey is the one I grew up with the most. Such a legend in Chicago. The city should honor him some way.
Joey D'Auria's Bozo definitely was the best! I grew up watching him as Bozo in Cleveland Ohio in the mid to late 90s and it sucks that we can't watch any of his episodes anywhere, we need to get them put on TH-cam for everyone to watch!
Great memories here loved The Bozo Show I remember while living in Virginia begging mom to go to Chicago and play the Grand Prize Game on the Bozo Show
I grew up with Bozo here in Chicago! I remember Bob Bell as a child, (had friends on the show in the audience!) but continued watching Joey as Bozo as an adult! When I was away in the army, I watched Bozo on WGN when I missed home. I miss those days, what nostalgia. Todd, where does life go?
That’s the golden question! I have a couple of recordings from the show and they are from ‘93 and I’m like…this doesn’t seem like 30 years ago. Time is an illusion.
From Pinto Colvig to Larry Harmon to Bob Bell and any & everyone in-between who portrayed Bozo the Clown, I respect what they brought to the table as "The World's Most Famous Clown" and for their dedication to entertaining children & families, but being born in 1985, Joey D'Auria is the Bozo I knew & watched growing up. So thank you for this excellent & insightful interview with Joey, Todd! Now with David Arquette having bought the rights to Bozo from the Larry Harmon estate, it's really nice to hear that he's given Joey permission to go to events & do autograph signings as Bozo when Larry Harmon never did (I wonder why?). I've been feeling kinda nostalgic about Bozo lately and so have been reading about the character's history and watching Bozo-related videos here on TH-cam & such, which is how I came upon this video. I even recently bought the CD "Get Down with the Clown" by Bozo & Pals from 2003 with Larry Harmon as Bozo along with guests such as William Shatner, Tony Danza & Joe Bonamassa among others. It's listed as children's music and I'm 37 years old (I'll be 38 in a lil over 2 weeks) with no children (yet), so I'm not entirely sure what drove me to actually buy it, but I guess that's what nostalgia will do to you sometimes, lol. 🤡
Yes this was my go to show in the Morning in the 80's through the 90's only show that trumped it and came on before at 5:00 AM each morning during the 80's on WGN The Muppet Show in Rerun's.❤😂
Oh nice !! I didn’t know he did voice acting but man his VOICE … it’s like hearing my Grandaddy tell me everything is gonna be ok again lol . Such a mental security blanket I didn’t even know I used to be SOOOO SO used to.
I grew up with Bob Bell, Roy Brown, Marshall Brodin, sitting in my aunts dining room on Friday, Saturday nights, playing cards and drinking beer. I never met this gentleman. Great interview.
I grew up on Bob Bell's Bozo too from the mid '70s to the mid '80s when I entered middle adolescence.I watched the Joey D'Aaria version of Bozo for a time afterwards but not for long.the Bozo Show never seemed quite the same like it had with Bob Bell.he will always be to one!
Bozo! It's been so long, glad to see him again! I was just thinking abot those crazy holiday cartoons/stop motion they'd show during this time of year.
@@SuperFuzzProductions are the clips you feature of showing , like the opening animation, from an episode that you have on file? It looks like you had several segments from what would’ve been 1 show.
In Boston, Bozo was played by Frank Avruch. After Bozo ended he continued on WCVB channel 5 as the station booth announcer and hosted The Great Entertainment Show that showed classic movies through the 1980s
Nobody talks about Gordon Ramsey he appeared as bozo the clown in 1969 on whats my line. But theres no information on his career as bozo or did he have one? Was Ramsy only bozo for whats my line or did he host the show for a time?

Same, WGN didn’t save many of the episodes. I was lucky that my dad had recorded a couple of episodes on VHS for me so at least I have those.

I grew up with Bozo, but I never knew the actor's name... must have been Bob Bell, because it was the 70s. 😎
100 proof Bozo. As a kid I don't remember seeing a drunk Bozo. I wonder how many shots this guy had
