Cops today go for their gun way too quickly. Training today makes them dangerous robots. (I'm going home safe no matter what) type of training. Save yourself at all costs, even if the situation isn't even dangerous, Like this young girl cop. Training of police officers should be taken away from the police and revamped entirely.
I went to TX and seen a sign that said don't mess with taxes and then this happened she guilty hand down and the whole world and her self knows she that's bs you live on the second floor but you are on the forth floor and wrong apartment she knew that it wasn't her house
I can understand going into the wrong apartment but why is shooting the first thing that comes to mind? The threat of a drawn gun would be enough. Just because it's lawful to defend your house, doesn't mean you have to kill someone
She was a trained police officer...they are taught to react and make quick and stressful decisions within a split second! Plus, of I recall correctly, she had just completed a long and cognitive demanding job! She could've been rather fatigued, and stressful shift...there could've been many other variables involved as well...plus, it was very dark and she was disoriented and made a horrendous miscalculation and truly made a terrible mistake...of you listen closely, you can hear her Shouting uncontrollably I thought I was in MY apartment! I believe that she acknowledged that she made the dreadful mistake ...the verdict was Fair/ Correct, someone has to pay for this mistake nonetheless.
No she wasn’t honest. The fact that she blamed him makes me so angry omg. I hope she is sent to prison for life what a wicked woman with crocodile white woman tears. How do you find peace blaming a innocent black man you killed in his partner he pays for? This is really a wicked world.

I can’t imagine loosing my son to something like this! I can’t imagine receiving a call that my son was killed while he was watching TV sitting in his living room. I can’t
The plain and simple truth is she's NOT a normal person she's a police officer. the people who we train and trust to not act like normal people in these situations. any yabo on the street could do what she did and not have the people pay for their training and equipment
I'd be worried about the key. I didn't see the whole trial but how did she get inside the apartment? If the door was unlocked, as a cop I would presume, why not call for backup? Or 911 before you enter? Strange....
I do not for one second believe a word out of that evil woman’s mouth. I also don’t believe her fake tears. She is a police officier and she knows how to shoot to kill and that is exactly what she did. This whole case sickens me. That poor man lost his life because of a despicable human being who honestly deserved the book thrown at her. She didn’t even attempt to give him life saving measures. I just feel so sick over this whole thing.
This murder had time to realize someone was in the apartment. So her training just stop in this situation. This is total bull and forgiveness is should be earned. They police covered her every step of the way.
Cheater! She was always looking behind her back. That is EXACTLY WHY she freaked out and started shooting. She thought men's WIFE hired someone! Pure punishment from Above!
10 years for a murder charge? Why am I not surprised by this? Such a slap in the face to the victims family. Also, I have an uncle who publicly forgave the man that murdered his son. I don’t understand how he found that forgiveness in his heart because it could never be me. I would hate the person forever.
This is so, so sad. Such a handsome, young man. So heartbreaking for his family and friends. Why continue to go inside if you think someone is in your apartment?! Why go to trial?! There is no defense!! Such ashame! 😔
Hope his family sued the company that owned the apt building. How the hell does her key work in another person's door? So they're just using duplicate locks?
She made it to her apartment while on the phone calling and texting but all of a sudden you go to the wrong floor and wrong home and thought it was you're and see and shoot a man and kill him and say you thought it was her house because you were on the phone
The police recruited, trained and armed Guyger and were completely negligent and irresponsible in doing so. If "profiling" of individuals by the police has any shred of accuracy then why don't they use the technique in employing police officers and eliminate the preponderance of thugs and dummies they invariably arm and put in a uniform. Full marks to the victims brother for his display of such outstanding humanity when delivering his victim impact statement.
That young man has such a good heart…that simple hug healed many ppl cuz that would have been a scene…reminds me of a trial I seen years ago of a cab driver who was murdered n the victim’s dad asked to hug his sons killer…this gave the same vibe
This case will always hurt my heart. Her career is what got her such leniency. This woman MURDERED this man, in HIS home. If she was a civilian she would be doing 20+. It's sick! She was careless and is a MURDERER! Race/Occupation played a HUGE role in this decision! No way you can even argue it. To hear the defense attorney say "she should've been acquitted" says SOOOOO MUCH! I remember the news coverage. They talked about her like she was the victim and he was the suspect. Sickening. I adore that man. We need more people in the world with compassion, not hate like him. Heart of gold.
So we need more people to be forgiving someone who killed their families and Cold blood you sound like a damn idiot! You white people sadistic maniacs!
What we need are competent law enforcement officers.
@@normbatchelor7403amen to that
She’s a murderer. How the judge in this trial was not deemed biased toward Guyger is beyond me. Judge acted unprofessional and unethical by hugging Guyger and giving her a bible. Also the fact that Joshua Brown, a prosecution key witness was found shot an killed outside his apartment is very uncanny. 10 years is a joke. She should have gotten life.
This young man who gave the most beautiful “victim impact statement” and brought reconciliation to a city! Wow! Impressive! Why can’t he run for President!
Amen sister!
What a great idea!
I think Bothams brother is an earth angel, his whole family, and the sort of souls we should all strive to be. I’m so sorry for your untimely loss.
A completely irresponsible human being and she was made to be a victim
Why is it when someone hurts a civil servant they get the highest penalty because they are deemed dangerous . But the other way round it is not so bad and they get a light sentence ?
Same question I'm asking.... its always ok for my doctor to keep me waiting for over an hour beyond my appointment to see but nit ok to be late for 10 minutes. Its always ok for my local council to damage my property and claim accident but it is not ok for my bin to be over the acceptable weight. It is always ok for an officer to lie and get away with it but not ok for me to whistle-blower on a police officer.... sometimes I wonrthe point in having elected officials when they won't protect the rights of those whom they are suppose to be serving, there is too much power given to civil servants, hence the reason why I call it a cult of narcissists... so sad. She would have been given life without parole. She said it herself, she wanted to kill him. It shows the heart and training of a cop.... impressed about what the young guy did but it didn't teach police officers any lesson. They would have arrested a civilian on the spot, but she was cotton wooled, which shows they are all guilty .... police officers makes me sick. Very few of them have an atom of integrity. From my research, many police officers get into the job because they are power freak, not because they want the best for their community... she just wasted innocent life because her bit on the side wonr come and f*&k her that night...
How on earth do you enter a residence and not be able to know you are in the wring place? Just so unbelievable. And if she is that clueless, why was she given a badge and a gun? This case just blows my mind.
Amber is just byond cluless & then to ask for a retrial...get real lady.
You've been working a high stress job running on adrenaline for 12 hours and are dog tired returning to a building where every hallway and door is a clone.
how was she able to even open his door?

She ...this cop deserves prosecution ....mistake or not this man was completely innocent PERIOD 💯 no excuse ....or lie can't change that part💯
What world its gonna be if everyone just kill someone into their own apartment and gonna shout "I thought it was my apartment"?
What a crap the defense of Liar Amber was... it was 100% Home Invasion Amber commited.
RIP Jean.
Every witness that testified they also have walked into the wrong unit STILL MENTIONED THEY IMMEDIATELY RECONIZED THIS WAS THE CASE.
She got off lightly, this is scary….just sitting there in your home minding your life and someone comes in shooting!
Anyone else up teary eyed after hearing the brother talk? Wow!!!! Just Wow!!! Speechless!
Wow!! Great men, that mother raised!!
He is strong.
Man of God
👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿
No…. I wanted to slap him… Forgive her at your house… she deserved life
Didn't believe her then and not now. You have to own up.
What an act of forgiveness , it will inspire millions . thank you
It was never reasonable that she believed she was in her own apartment. It was never reasonable that there was no verbal command or question from the highly trained officer. It was not a tragedy that she shot she him, it was an assassination.
I hope the board turns down her parole.
I can't get over this case. She is such a disturbing individual. It's not a hotel to get so confused about a room. In no way were her actions reasonable. She was clearly entitled about being a police officer. Just the fact that she was having inappropriate conversation with a married coworker is demented.
You know she’s immediately guilty when she had a whole damn story the minute 911 picked up! Come onnnnnnnmm
Amber: "Who bought all of this new furniture and put it here? Who's eating icecream on that couch? I better not back away and retreat, I need to unload my weapon into that man."
And she didn`t notice that it wasn`t her furniture in the flat? Really??!!!!!! I don`t believe that for a second!!
@Lisa Stalnaker So what do you think actually happened? She walked into the apartment directly above her, knowing it was the wrong apartment, all so she could murder a man eating ice cream? For what?? Tunnel vision is a thing.
@@trickortrump3292 so she could murder because he was black and she hates black people. That's not wild, happens all the time. At some point it was law to kill black people because you hate them.
@InsideandOut Jean had a big red door mat in front of his door while Guyger had no door mat. How can you mistake a red door mat for no doormat at all? Also both Guyger and Jean's kitchen are on opposite sides of their apartments when you walk in. Jean's kitchen is on the right while Guyger's kitchen is on the left when you walk in. How you also not see the kitchen is on the right or left?
@@trickortrump3292yes that's exactly what it was tho and thankfully the jury agreed
@@dhqbrandi No they did not. That’s absurd. Nobody tried to convince the jury of the nonsense that it was premeditated and her whole story of being in the wrong apartment was just a cover. She only got 10 years because everybody knows there was no malicious intent.
I never did buy into the excuse she gave and how was the door wasn't locked.
1:13 Regardless, how did her key work on his door?!? This is just heartbreaking and senseless. 💔🙏🏼 Thoughts and prayers for the victim and his precious family
wow i never thought of that! did they ever say how her key fit the door bc i doubt it was open
it didn't. She explains when she is on the stand that when she put her key in, apparently it pushed his door open as it was already open a crack
18:18
I was wondering that same thing too
When the daughter had to tell the mom my heart broke for them. When the defense ask what we’re you looking for when you opened the door he than mouths every word coming out of her mouth (scripted much time stamp19:04 )You can tell this is a loving family who is doing right by all accounts. She didn’t even try to help him. She’s the devil fake crying at court she wasn’t crying that night. She makes me sick
Botham had a mother who built (raised) STRONG children, in every way. If there is to be a "hero" in the midst of this tragedy, it is her. How do we know that.....because of Brant's behavior and actions toward Officer Guyger.
31 isn't young
A mistake does not erase the fact that she killed a man. In his own home.
She’s guilty.
I went to TX and seen a sign that said don't mess with taxes and then this happened she guilty hand down and the whole world and her self knows she that's bs you live on the second floor but you are on the forth floor and wrong apartment she knew that it wasn't her house
So someone breaks into your home and eats ice cream? Girl who does that
I can understand going into the wrong apartment but why is shooting the first thing that comes to mind?
I do not think this is about race, she would have shot him if he were any other race, but she was trigger happy and I believe she needs to have some consequence for her reckless behavior. Amber has no business being a police officer.
THEN GO DO THE FUKN JOB BICH
She wouldn't have shot him if he was white. She entered his house with the sole intention of killing him because he is black.
@@Lelough_ That is a ridiculous statement, truly racist of you to say this. Shame on you
If she would've open the door and she saw a asian woman in there I highly doubt she would of shot her
EXACTLY
DOESNT MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS: THE DALLAS POLICE OFFICER AMBER GUYGER IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG SHE WAS TOO BUSY CONCENTRATED ON HER CELL PHONE TO PAY ATTENTION ON WHAT SHE WAS DOING!!! AMBER IS 1000000000000% GUILTY!!! PEOPLE ON THE CELL PHONE HAS BEEN KILLED ALL THE TIME WHEN CROSSING STREETS AND NOT PAYING ATTENTION ON WHAT THEY ARE DOING, BUT THIS CASE IS ABSURD.
If I got to the door if of my house and heard someone shuffling around inside when I knew no one was meant to be in there I wouldn’t open the door. I would phone the police. She might of looked like a fool but she wouldn’t have murdered an innocent man in cold blood.
I don't understand how she didn't walk in the front door and realise she's in the wrong apartment ?
Especially as the door was ajar. Why didn’t she step back and call for help rather than go in and shoot the first thing she saw.
she was dumb..only word for it
Y’all forgot to include that the judge hugged the murderer too!!! that was beyond outrageous imo
Idiot
She explained why cause the brother hugged her, and I find it inappropriate as well !! When I seen I was like Wdf this is the first prob in history! This is a sad story
@@yasminmiller1132 yes for sure 😔
It wasn't murder. A terrible tragedy but not murder. And you know it.
@@Blackheathenly it was tho. At the end of the day she killed him
That amazing act of Christian grace. Wow, what a brother.
I always thought life would be less stressful as my son got older. Reality is, the older he gets and the less grip I’ll have protecting him the more I stress out. I can’t imagine loosing my son to something like this! I can’t imagine receiving a call that my son was killed while he was watching TV sitting in his living room. I can’t
By a police woman no less. She should rot in jail
10 years for taking someone's life brutally, good,u can free her instead.
This murder had time to realize someone was in the apartment. So her training just stop in this situation. This is total bull and forgiveness is should be earned. They police covered her every step of the way.
She messed up . She was protected by her fellow officers enough said. She shot that man and let him die.
Cheater! She was always looking behind her back. That is EXACTLY WHY she freaked out and started shooting. She thought men's WIFE hired someone! Pure punishment from Above!
she thought she would get away with it because she's a bent cop
She had no business being in the job she was in. I wonder how many qualified people were passed over to hire her?
10 years for murder SMH
oh god the cringe i felt when she started crying what a horrible irresponsible person
Well done young man!! A true believer.
Hope his family sued the company that owned the apt building. How the hell does her key work in another person's door? So they're just using duplicate locks?
I would love, love to see the floorplan/lay-out of BOTH apts!!!! Once I get a chance to review them then I'll know for myself what really happened!?!😮
This woman has no conscience. To many holes in her story.
A poor excuse of a cop. No excuses lady
Moved to tears after the speech from his little bro. Wow.
You can’t just shoot and then ask questions! That’s the problem, they’re entirely too trigger happy!
shouldnt have ever been on the force......no awareness of surroundings and clues, just straight to the shooting, RIP
That was a Nelson Mandela moment at the end and shows that words can prevent wars
Killed an innocent man, must pay the price
That young man has such a good heart…that simple hug healed many ppl cuz that would have been a scene…reminds me of a trial I seen years ago of a cab driver who was murdered n the victim’s dad asked to hug his sons killer…this gave the same vibe
Amber needs to eat her food and complete her sentence, the family should sue her 😒.
What a great family and a wonderful young man!!! May God give you his grace!
They keep saying 'self-defence'. How the hell was it self defense?? She was in HIS home.
eating ice cream... how is ice cream that a threat or I wonder how they would do at a Baskin Robbins
His black skin was a threat to her white fragility
@mpumem.4143 Maybe she was lactose intolerant?
PUT THE DAMN PHONE DOWN!!! People are ruining their lives and losing their lives over these damn smartphones. Not very smart!
Acquittal for a stupidity and no threat.
These American police should leave their guns at work. There's no reason for them to take their service weapons home.
I'm sure I'm not the only who cried at the end. That young man is an exceptional human being. Wow!
What a beautiful moment of forgiveness,
getting shot and murdered in your own castle, damn that's really something else.
Sickening. Hers will come. Because this was horrific! Peace and love to his family! 💜💜
Even if it was her apartment don’t just go to shooting to kill! There are other places to aim than to kill!
If she wasn't on the phone, she would've realized that she was on the wrong floor and the wrong apartment.
People be on the phone while driving and they don't go to the wrong place
