Someone at NRS is one of us in secret and finally decided to go against the norm for these guys and said enough is enough we are gonna make these characters good in the story for once and more memorable than before.
I love his new heartwarming good personality back then he was a cool secret character that kept to himself but then became a full time punching bag henchmen, but even Baraka was like that but now he too got the redemption and good guy role which I also love.
This has been a LONG time coming. Been playing this character since MK2 in my childhood. Here I am a 36 year old adult and my boi finally got the respect he deserves!
Heck yeah! The story could be about him investigating what he learned in his ending, uncovering corruption in the Zaterran government, battling assassins sent to stop him and so on. A bit like Captain America: The Winter Soldier. You could bring back Chameleon as Syzoth's rival.
Throughout Reptile's whole Career, he has been done so Dirty and became a Jobber in the entirety of the MK series, it almost feels like they don't know what to do with him at 1st, but until when MK1 (2023) came, Reptile has been done Justice!
I loved his design in shaolin monks and MKX. Hopefully the Titan Reptile is of the form of MKX Reptile. I like Liu Kang's MK1 redesign but MKX Reptile is on-point.
I seriously had the LOWEST expectations after mk11, but this timeline delivered on so much when it comes to properly representing the characters. Even bringing back deception characters?!?!?! Fuck man, soooo good!
About time you made this, I’m glad that Reptile is now not only a ninja again but better than before AND on top of that a hero this time around. I’m proud of him and now he’s high on my list regarding my favorite ninjas in MK once again. Edit: what is the name of the music that plays at the end? He’s used it several times before but I could never figure out the name ☹️
Reptile saw the line in the sand , got some pep talk from HHH (you know that « evolution just passed you by ») and went to the writers room to force them to give him a main event push 😂 he the Jey Uso of mortal kombat while Baraka was Sami Zayn in that game
What’s insane is I see people complaining that he actually has character depth and more personality. “He used to be cool and mysterious!” Yeah he was mysterious because he barely ever got any story involvement lol
Reptile went from a Zaku II unit getting wrecked after wrecked like that League of Legends champion whom everyone beats left and right. And now turned himself into the likes of Akali and Boba Fett combined. Welp story wise he got the best glow up I’ve seen so far, that’s like upgrading the Zaku into the likes of a Protagonist Gundam status. If anything I think Reptile is the Jeff Hardy of Mortal Kombat resume wise, went from jobbin has now become a stardom.

@@RazuX5 they are both Reptilian but not the same species. It’s like saying that all fish are the same but that’s not true at all. If you played any of the older Mortal Kombats featuring the old Reptile, the difference between the two species is night and day.
@@RazuX5 Take a look at the mk 9 and mk x arcade endings as they have depictions of Saurians (though the MK X Saurians are referred to as Raptors and are Mortal Kombat’s equivalent to the Lizard Folk conspiracy theories). They look much, much different from the Zaterrans of Mk1.
It’s so funny- this new take on Reptile is the closest to how I pictured him after seeing his ending in part 2. He wasn’t just a mindless lackey. He turned against his masters once he learned that they planned to enslave the remainder of his race. But then part 3 and onwards happened, and he was reduced to a joke. I had convinced myself that the Reptile in MK1 & 2 had to be a different person, that’s how much I hated what they had done to my once favorite character. And now, after 28 long, long years they finally do right by him.

I’m not going to lie even though they gave Reptile more to do in this game I still don’t care for him. Though this could be because Reptile (& Tremor to an extent) are the only 2 ninjas I have never really been interested in like at all.
Syzoth in MK1 is the ultimate “Be careful who you call a bench warmer in middle school.” They did him so well this time around.
