It took me 7 visits to the emergency department that all resulted in hospitalizations for them to diagnose me. On the final hospitalization I started to notice my cortisol levels were low in my online charts and demanded they take one again. After literally fighting verbally with the dr treating me he took the test and I was finally diagnosed with Addison disease. It took me going through several crisis events for the diagnosis. In the first crisis I passed out and banged my head against the wall and tore up my shoulder that required a bicep tenodesis to be done. Good luck everyone!

@ thank you for taking the time to read my short version of everything I have been through. I have been on the website and noticed your TH-cam channel and came right over to start to learn even more about this disease. Thank you so much for the support!
Thank you so much for such a powerful video and raising awareness - I have Addison's and have lived through too many adrenal crisises. It is the scariest thing and people need to know how best to support and help quickly. 🦋
We absolutely agree! SOLUtion medical is working on just that: www.solutionmedco.com/ Please reach out to nadfsupport@nadf.us if you have any questions regarding your new diagnosis.
I have had several crisis. The first, which led to my diagnosis, was from contracting Norwalk virus. Shortly after dianosis I still thought I could drink alcohol, and throwing up caused a crisis. Every couple years I get sick to my stomach and this usually triggers a crisis. I've also had what I call "adrenal attacks". Usually triggered by emotional stress- I lose my balance, become confused, overheat and sweat profusely, need to lie down before I fall down, weakness; but I know I'll be ok once I sleep/pass out and cool down for 10-20 minutes. I'll take 5-10mg of cortisol, several glasses of water and some salty food when I wake up, and I will still need a long nap after... But once I wake up I'm relatively ok again as long as nothing else stressful happens. This is just my experience and I don't recommend it since your life might depend on it. Does anyone else experience this?

I’m newly diagnosed. An auto injector type epipen device would be awesome and alleviate so much of my anxiety about going into crisis!

You would think they would have that injection ready so you can just go ahead and stick yourself and give the medication
