It’s cool to see some of the negative interactions like the bag on the porch, because I almost always play to have all of my Sims on good terms. Maybe I should start making my Sims a little different from each other personality wise and see what happens.
Hell yea it's nice to add some spice to the gameplay sometimes. This game is great at handling chaos and the Sims are full of personality so imo you'll have a lot of fun if you spice things up

I gave her a makeover (literally just changed her clothes, took off her glasses, gave her make-up, etc.) and when she came back from school I got a notification pop up saying that the kids at school liked her new look or something. I didn't even have mods back then but it's def something I wanna retry and see exactly what it said. The amount of detail in TS2 is insane.
Something I've noticed recently: depending on which book your sim reads affects needs All books increase the need for fun, however: Romance: Increases social Mistery: decreases bladder Fiction: decreases hygiene Recipe: decreases hungry drama: decrease energy (sorry for my bad englis, it isn't my first language, i'm using translate)
The train bursting into flames being rare is so funny to me cause it happened so often in my game, killing so many Sims, to the point I became too afraid to buy it lmao! Rip to poor Frankie Fusilli, gone too soon. :'D

Ah, I've seen that rare restaurant thing happen when someone put barstools instead of chairs with the table. They even got the message "Sorry, all the tables are reserved." But other things too. The restaurant coupon only came to my sims after a good date or outing. Outings and dates have multiple different rewards (new object, promotion, skill gain, restaurant coupon, a new contact etc). Dates have an exclusive reward object that can come (you have shown this in the video). Just the love and hate letters can also be put on the table and it will have the picture of the sim your sim had a date with. If it is a hate letter, the sim in the picture will have an angry face. Pretty fun detail.
Oh that's awesome, I always get Dream or Disaster dates, rarely in the middle, but the fact that it generates a portrait really makes me want to collect some date letters for my romance sims. :) My drama professor's wall of flaming poo bags would be delightfully complimented by an angry portrait of each Sim who delivered the poo bag.

I also have a creepy awkward Sim who collects flaming bags of poo from his bad dates. He has a whole shelf full of them and they give his house a nice warm ambient light haha. It does lower the room's environment score quite a bit though.
I experienced the model train catching fire in person. My Sim brought a friend from work and he went to play with the train. Sometime passed and I saw flames from the upstairs. I went to the game room just to see the friend of my Sim dying on the flames. The firefighters arrived soon, but the Grim Reaper was't in good mood and I was not able to plea for his life. RIP to the guy I forgot the name

One of my favorite non-career moneymaking methods on TS2 is to make a pleasure or popularity sim organize a daily Group Outing. If it goes well, a Sim from the outing will come by later and give a big present like the $8000 flatscreen TV or a pinball machine! The platonic outing rewards are WAY better than the date rewards!
I also love that the sofa dents when the sim sits down; I love that they open the disc drive of a computer to put a disc in; that there are different interactions for each food cooked (eg Hamburgers will see the sim patting the meat into a burger shape); and they get the spoon, saucepan, baking pan out of the cupboard to cook with! I don't know if this was mentioned before, but did you know that buying green energy source can actually reduce the amount of bills? If you buy more of them, you'll be able to exceed the average energy consumption and then you'll be refunded(the refund depends on how many you've bought)!
You can also use this advantage to put a lot of them on special lots like dormitories or even apartments(though the apartment prices raise up a bit because of that)! That way, you won't have to pay bills and instead you'll be earning a lot of money every week!
I had the restaurant issue a lot back when OFB first came out. All I wanted to do was have my Sim run a restaurant, but I made him work for it. He had to build it from scratch and had very little money to start with lol. So we only had like two tables. Whenever I'd play another family and bring them there, chances were that the tables would be full up before they got seated.
I didn't see it myself but someone said in the sims 2 subreddit that if you call a dead sim, someone else will pick up the phone and will say "It's not a good time right now" or something like that, I found that interesting.

I bought most of my games and expansion packs from thrift stores over the years and on eBay. I recently found the Happy Holidays expansion, yet it won’t upload. Another stuff pack I bought has somehow deleted all of my memory so all of my homes and families are gone and I have some new custom content

So, I was just playing Sims 2, and I noticed two things I didn’t know before. 1. My sim read a newspaper while she used the toilet. Maybe other people have seen this before, but I didn’t know they did that until now. Lol 2. My sim knew the “chest pound” local gesture despite never having gone on a vacation. None of my sims in this neighborhood have ever gone to the mountain destination yet. This sim happens to be a werewolf, so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but it surprised me.
Concerning the chest pound; perhaps you have a townie wandering around that is from Bon Voyage? I have a couple of Bon Voyage townie teens that often come home with my teens and they will "infect" your neighborhood with chest pounding and bowing! And that stuff will spread like wildfire. You think the flu spreads fast through a neighborhood? Well most of my (100+) main neighborhood now knows the slap dance because a couple families went on vacation and picked it up. Few of my sims even smustle anymore, they're all slap dancing!

But I know what you mean about it spreading. A different sim went on a vacation to Twikkii Island, learned to hula, and then went to college. She started doing the hula to one of the many radios in the dorms. Some of the other college Sims joined in, and now you only ever see them hula dancing in college. Lol

I know this video is kinda old, but I came back to comment that, a few days ago, my sim’s train set caught on fire!!! He caught on fire as well and I was genuinely concerned that he would die, but luckily, a firefighter saved him. Since I knew from this video that it’s a rare event, I managed to get a picture!
For the date one, if the date occurred between sims that are in your household, the sim that was asked out will still go outside and leave a flower for the other sim. I wish they would hand it off in person, but it would be very easy to be missed esp when you play in 3 speed during the boring parts like me lol.
I think I found a secret detail. I’m not sure if anyone else knows but if you have a (working) nanny who is watching your kids and a sim (mine was a teen) watches SimStation Dance the nanny will turn off the television. I assume since that channel is too inappropriate for kids. Reminds me of the days when you had to sneak around to watch BET or MTV.
Interesting fact about date flowers: when you date with a lot of sim and one of your partner will read love note what is included to bouquet from another partner,he or she will be angry with you instantly
I love how when sims die, they roll up into a ball because the area of a single segment is so small and they can only occupy one segment when dead even though the developers could have easily given them two segments similar to how when they fall asleep on the floor.
Sims can play 2 player on the console for all games! Though from what I can tell only the video for the snowboarding game (think it's called SX3) changes to split screen. Makes sense for games like Sims 3 because that in real life is single player, but for other multiplayer games like Sims bustin'out it's a shame it's not an option.
3:24 When I was playing the sims 2 and had a "Dream Date" the sim I dated just casually gave me a 5.000 simeloen worth art piece with the bouquet. I knew the sim had money but I never thout they had that much money, you know what I mean ;)

You can also get hit by a space object if you watch the sky. You can get eaten by flies if your house is too dirty. Toddlers can escape their cribs if you let them in for too long. If you create sims, put them on a lot and leave them be, they will randomly combust. xD
Haha something similar happened to my Sim too years ago, only used the train set like 5 times before it combusted so I stopped buying it for my Sims... if only I knew how rare it was💀
Your filming is so cinematic especially the Oliver Specter flower delivery fail part or the hate letter delivery part it looked as if the camera was actually on wheels or on a crane and we were seeing a shot of a film. Many other parts such as these.

according to sims university life, a semester has 72 hours (3 days) so, 144 hours is a year, then, 6 days is a whole year a sim lives 78 days, in sims years, thats 13 years so the life spam of a sim is 13 years
Hi there, here is what happened to me when I played sims 2 back in my childhood. I still play when I feel like it. I have been playing it for 14 years in total, but it only occured to me once. My child sim went to bad with low needs, had a bad dream about her father. The next day I think, her father died in a fire. Creepy to say the least... Creepy indeed. I haven't encountered anything similar but one of the creepiest thing that happened to me in this game was when I was a kid and I recreated me and my family and a burglar came literally on the first night. That was too ominous for my 11-year-old self to handle so I just quit the game and never played with the household again💀
I continuously find something new in this game. I had Sims go on vacation to an island. For some reason, they kept getting overheated and passing out They didn't get to do anything so I ended the trip and sent them home. When they got home, instead of getting vacation rewards like "relaxed and carefree" they had jetlag. And the game told me skill building etc will be harder until the jetlag wears off
I'm having a family cemetery on my backyard, and dead sims can play with my dead pets. Toddlers can see gosts when they in my house Cats can chase gosts Newborns are thinking about dead relatives when they are in house

If you invite a kid over and there's also an adult visiting, when it turns to nighttime you get a message from the visiting adult saying "its very late, I need to "kids name" home." Even if it isn't their biological parent you'll get this messageg I also don't remember what the exact wording of the message is but its something like that
I recently discovered that the train set is NOT supposed to catch on fire when you use it. I hated that object with my whole being because EVERYTIME my sims use it, it catches on fire. And I've been playing Sims 2 for like 15 years.

There's a glitch I keep getting (happened in 2 different copies of the game): It only happens in apartments. Let's say there's a storm, a lightning hits a tree and it starts burning. Buy/build mode greys out, everyone who sees a burning tree freaks out. But the flame quickly goes out because of rain. The thing is that the buy/build mode becomes active again and everyone calms down slightly BEFORE the fire really goes out. So, the glitch: if in this scenario you save and quit the game BEFORE the flame completely disappears, and then load that save, the tree will keep burning. It will keep burning as long as you play that save (which may mean several generations). And none of the neighbours or your sims give a 💩 about the constantly burning tree, they don't panic or anything. Personally, I find this glitch hilarious 😂
Off the top of my head: spontaneous combustion, alien abduction, satellite crash, death by flies and getting the Genie lamp, with spontaneous combustion being the rarest of them all at like 0.1% if a Sim is very overheated
@@crazymarq4390 I managed to get a Genie lamp in one of my last playthroughs. I didn't notice it right away and was so confused when my sim rolled a want for the Genie lamp.
Model Train Set catching on fire is that rare?.. I placed it ONE time and it caught on fire, killing my sim and I didn't buy it ever again. I guess I'm just very unlucky with fire-related deaths since my sims often die from trying to burn leaves, fire rain and manage to set their food on fire even with high cooking skill... :')
Oh yea it is indeed rare but ig our Sims are unlucky haha. I had a similar experience years ago when I bought it for the first time. It caught fire on like the 5th attempt so I never used it again until semi-recently when I realized how rare it is💀
Weird that I've never needed to have my Teen Sims ask for their parents' permission to go to another lot. I guess their relationships are just that good.

I have a disk that I'm trying to make work on my windows 10, but it keeps saying that "an administrator has blocked you from using this app" and "Autorun.exe" did this ever happen to you? Hey, I have the Ultimate Collection on Origin but I'm on Windows 8 which is much more compatible with Sims 2. Sadly I'm not familiar with the problem you're describing, it almost sounds like the PC thinks Sims 2 is malware so it blocks the .exe?
You were joking about the fire on the train thing being rare right? I failed to get if it was or wasn't a joke... But... in case it wasn't a joke and it is actually rare... then I guess I'm very unlucky because not only the train bursted in flames when my sims were using it, but also, they wouldn't call the firefighters, so they all died and I closed the game without saving and, when I came back, I deleted the train thing

theres many interactions you can't do that are hidden, only the sim itself can do one of those is reading a newspaper on the toilet.

I know this video is kinda old, but I came back to comment that, a few days ago, my sim’s train set caught on fire!!! He caught on fire as well and I was genuinely concerned that he would die, but luckily, a firefighter saved him. Since I knew from this video that it’s a rare event, I managed to get a picture!

For the date one, if the date occurred between sims that are in your household, the sim that was asked out will still go outside and leave a flower for the other sim. I wish they would hand it off in person, but it would be very easy to be missed esp when you play in 3 speed during the boring parts like me lol.

I think I found a secret detail. I’m not sure if anyone else knows but if you have a (working) nanny who is watching your kids and a sim (mine was a teen) watches SimStation Dance the nanny will turn off the television.
I assume since that channel is too inappropriate for kids. Reminds me of the days when you had to sneak around to watch BET or MTV.

Interesting fact about date flowers: when you date with a lot of sim and one of your partner will read love note what is included to bouquet from another partner,he or she will be angry with you instantly
I love how when sims die, they roll up into a ball because the area of a single segment is so small and they can only occupy one segment when dead even though the developers could have easily given them two segments similar to how when they fall asleep on the floor.
Sims can play 2 player on the console for all games! Though from what I can tell only the video for the snowboarding game (think it's called SX3) changes to split screen. Makes sense for games like Sims 3 because that in real life is single player, but for other multiplayer games like Sims bustin'out it's a shame it's not an option.

I just found out about the train catching on fire recently! My sim had one in the garage and everyone was playing with it and it caught fire! I was so shocked because I had no idea it was possible 😂

You can also get hit by a space object if you watch the sky.
You can get eaten by flies if your house is too dirty.
Toddlers can escape their cribs if you let them in for too long.
If you create sims, put them on a lot and leave them be, they will randomly combust. xD

Spontaneous combustion exists but it's super rare and Sims have to be very overheated in order for it to happen
The first time I had a sim use the model train set it caught fire and I avoided using it for years.
Haha something similar happened to my Sim too years ago, only used the train set like 5 times before it combusted so I stopped buying it for my Sims... if only I knew how rare it was💀

Your filming is so cinematic especially the Oliver Specter flower delivery fail part or the hate letter delivery part it looked as if the camera was actually on wheels or on a crane and we were seeing a shot of a film. Many other parts such as these.

Yeah you can get other types of objects too, skill points etc. (same with outings) but in this video I focused on those that are more romantic. It is pretty funny when broke Sims deliver stereos or TVs tho💀

Hi there, here is what happened to me when I played sims 2 back in my childhood. I still play when I feel like it.
I have been playing it for 14 years in total, but it only occured to me once.
My child sim went to bad with low needs, had a bad dream about her father.
The next day I think, her father died in a fire. Creepy to say the least...
I was wondering if any of you encountered something like this.

Creepy indeed. I haven't encountered anything similar but one of the creepiest thing that happened to me in this game was when I was a kid and I recreated me and my family and a burglar came literally on the first night. That was too ominous for my 11-year-old self to handle so I just quit the game and never played with the household again💀

I continuously find something new in this game. I had Sims go on vacation to an island. For some reason, they kept getting overheated and passing out
They didn't get to do anything so I ended the trip and sent them home. When they got home, instead of getting vacation rewards like "relaxed and carefree" they had jetlag. And the game told me skill building etc will be harder until the jetlag wears off

I recently discovered that the train set is NOT supposed to catch on fire when you use it. I hated that object with my whole being because EVERYTIME my sims use it, it catches on fire. And I've been playing Sims 2 for like 15 years.

@@jalvessica hmmm, maybe it increases the chances? Altho when I was doing research for this video I only saw the 2% chance and no mentions that having it indoors makes a difference. So I think your Sims are just unlucky indeed💀😭

There's a glitch I keep getting (happened in 2 different copies of the game):
It only happens in apartments. Let's say there's a storm, a lightning hits a tree and it starts burning. Buy/build mode greys out, everyone who sees a burning tree freaks out. But the flame quickly goes out because of rain. The thing is that the buy/build mode becomes active again and everyone calms down slightly BEFORE the fire really goes out. So, the glitch: if in this scenario you save and quit the game BEFORE the flame completely disappears, and then load that save, the tree will keep burning.
It will keep burning as long as you play that save (which may mean several generations). And none of the neighbours or your sims give a 💩 about the constantly burning tree, they don't panic or anything.
Personally, I find this glitch hilarious 😂

If it was a cheating sim that went on a date and you make the spouse read it, they cry and their relationship will drop.
My sim kid was playing on that stupid science chemistry table and set the whole room on fire including the siblings and both died 😭 wtf!

Off the top of my head: spontaneous combustion, alien abduction, satellite crash, death by flies and getting the Genie lamp, with spontaneous combustion being the rarest of them all at like 0.1% if a Sim is very overheated

@@crazymarq4390 I managed to get a Genie lamp in one of my last playthroughs. I didn't notice it right away and was so confused when my sim rolled a want for the Genie lamp.
For me Sims 2 with the expansions is the GTA SA of all their games.
Model Train Set catching on fire is that rare?.. I placed it ONE time and it caught on fire, killing my sim and I didn't buy it ever again. I guess I'm just very unlucky with fire-related deaths since my sims often die from trying to burn leaves, fire rain and manage to set their food on fire even with high cooking skill... :')
Oh yea it is indeed rare but ig our Sims are unlucky haha. I had a similar experience years ago when I bought it for the first time. It caught fire on like the 5th attempt so I never used it again until semi-recently when I realized how rare it is💀
Weird that I've never needed to have my Teen Sims ask for their parents' permission to go to another lot. I guess their relationships are just that good.

Hey, I have the Ultimate Collection on Origin but I'm on Windows 8 which is much more compatible with Sims 2. Sadly I'm not familiar with the problem you're describing, it almost sounds like the PC thinks Sims 2 is malware so it blocks the .exe?

You were joking about the fire on the train thing being rare right? I failed to get if it was or wasn't a joke...
But... in case it wasn't a joke and it is actually rare... then I guess I'm very unlucky because not only the train bursted in flames when my sims were using it, but also, they wouldn't call the firefighters, so they all died and I closed the game without saving and, when I came back, I deleted the train thing
It is super rare, about a 2% chance. One of my Sims was also super unlucky and the thing burst into flames when he used it for only the 5th time💀
I heard if the sims has low hygiene and there is plate with flies or garbage on the floor, the sims can die by being eaten by flies
The only thing I hate about Sims 2 is the camera thingy 😂 ugh if i ever catch that security guard
