      You blew me away when you started applying (painting?) the silicone!! The intensity was incredible! It’s like there was another painting underneath, a more perfect painting. Bravo!!

    I love when she gets excited. Pure joy and child-like playfulness . Love it. That’s how art should be. The cells at first remind me of a corn cob as a paint roller. Love the effect.

    Great job, Olga! I can't remember who suggested this, otherwise I would give her credit, but she never swipes with just a damp paper towel. She puts paint ON THE TOWEL! That way, you never end up with the bald canvas problem. I think it would take some finesse, but from what I've seen, it works fabulously. Thanks for the demo!

      I love watching your videos. This one is so cool. I am new to acrylic pouring and trying to learn all I can before I dive in. What do you do with all the extra paint that drips off the sides? I keep hearing about skins?

    • @OlgaSoby
      @OlgaSoby  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@lauralatham-kirk9608 hi Laura, get ready, acrylic pouring is super addicting! 😅When the paint dries on a smooth surface like the container that I use, it turns into skins of paint that very often look very cool (if not better then the pour lol). I like to store them, and right now I'm experimenting with different ways to use them, but most often I create jewelry with it. I have described everything step-by-step in this article smartartmaterials.com/how-to-make-acrylic-skin-jewelry/

    This was amazing. I’ve been wanting to do a pour canvas, just for fun. Is there any way you can get cells without silicone?

    • @OlgaSoby
      @OlgaSoby  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on technique :) if you want to go for chameleon cells silicone is probably needed. But with flip cup and floetrol as a pouring medium, you can get cells without silicone

      There are many things that contain silicone you can use, but you can use dimethicone as well. Coconut Milk Hair Serum is very easy to find and contains dimethicone, K-Y True Feel Silicone Lubricant 9 and Treadmill silicone oil both are inexpensive on Amazon. I've noticed that certain regular products that have become popular with acrylic pouring has suddenly risen in price. I normally buy everything except my paint, from Amazon. Paint, I buy at the big box stores whenever they have sales on the big 1/2 gallon bottles of acrylic paints because I want to see the colors of the paints for myself.
      You can use WD40 Liquid Wrench. I sprayed it into a plastic cup then poured the liquid into a dropper bottle to use, but there are other things mixed into the Liquid Wrench because it didn't give me the cells I wanted. You should use 100% silicone or dimethicone. They give the best cells. DON'T USE COOKING OILS as they get rancid and are too heavy. As I was told, they'll sink into the paint. Don't get disappointed in yourself if after a day or so, the top of your pour feels oily. Wait until the paint is cured, I was told a week, then you can clean the oil off of it. I believe there's videos telling you how to do that on TH-cam.

      I think there would be too much silicone with such wide applicator. But cells will grow bigger even with smaller applicator if the distance between them is bigger

    I am trying to do the chameleon cells for children that are visually impaired. We ordered Deco Art Fluid ready to pour paint and Sargents brands using Vallejo silicone oil cell medium and we got no cells. I did not use heat. The school system paid for this paint and I really need it to work. HELP! Can I add floetrol? Do I need to try coconut oil hair serum? try another brand of silicone? We are on a tight budget for this year's Helen Keller Art Show for the blind and visually impaired kiddos!!!! Thank you.

    • @OlgaSoby
      @OlgaSoby  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately I'm not familiar with performance of Deco Art fluid ready to pour for chameleon cells techniques, so can't advice. The best pre-mixed pouring paint for this technique would be by Artist Loft from Michael's, they have the silicone as well.
