In the first part of the video where you were looking for a word to describe the paint that wasn’t cells - maybe lacing? This is an absolutely fascinating video Olga. I wonder if the cells would be bigger with a 50/50 ratio of soap to water? I’ll experiment too. Some strayers are definitely different from others. I guess we try a number of ways to do it. That’s the value of small canvases for experimenting. The consistency of the paint would change the size, I imagine. A thinner paint or swipe paint is where I’ll start experimenting. Thank you for your generous sharing Olga. Thank you for showing us a whole new direction, although having just sold 3 artworks this afternoon, Dutch Pours will always be my preferred style.
I love that 3 looks like a swipe but more controlled. Number 1 is amazing if only I can find a use for it. Possibly Metallics with a black swipe could be fun or just a few spots to enhance another pour. Number 2 is okay but I think floetrol and water may be better. Great fun and worth more experimenting! Thanks Olga.
I love it. Please continue, it saves us wasting time and money, it also helps with making good decisions. I don’t care for silicone too much trouble for me. Softer less defined maybe. Then again I’m not all about cells. I’m wondering how this would work with the tri-art liquid glass, it’s supposed to give you cells that keep their shape.
Thank you! I don't know why, but I just don't have luck with nice cells when work with any type of pouring medium. I guess it's about finding right proportions and also practice practice practice 😊
Smart Art Materials - Acrylic Pouring & Painting oh I’ve got painted trash cans full of scraped off paint. I don’t like the mediums. Tried glue it left the surface strange and later it peeled off, same with the liquitex pouring medium. It was strange they both crazed so I tried cleaning them to re-pour. The glue came off in a terrible way, threw one canvas away. The liquitex peeled off it took on the texture of the canvas. I prefer floetrol and a small amount of water. It wasn’t my mixture I was careful about amounts. I got cracking if they dried too fast, the humidity was too low. I believe it’s because no matter what the pour is putting down layers thicker than intended to be. I’m still struggling. I have some that work many that don’t. Metallics can be tricky. Going to try the soap.

I hear ya! Temperature can be very tricky here too! Floetrol is also my go-for mixture, but I kinda want to experiment with other products. Plus new coming to the market all the time with fluid art getting more and more popular.
They are all so different and all so very beautiful. So cool that you can use dish soap to make beautiful works of art. My favorite is the one that you just dropped the soap mixture on. Reminded me of flowers.
Holy cow! I am so glad you made this video! I love that with the flip cup the cells are irregular. And I really like the effect from the dropper. It looks a bit like marigolds to me. Thanks for all the videos!
I liked each one with the technique you use. I like the second one. I could see that for underwater or in fire colors. The last one reminded me of flowers definitely. Thanks for showing your techniques.
I love these experiments. Very cool results too. I would love to know how these dry. Will you need to rinse the soap off? Will the paint come off with the soap. Or will they accept a varnish without rinsing first? So many questions, hehe. Thanks for the video. :)
So many questions so little answers haha 😃 Well I might have some answers. So I tried cleaning one I did last week: there were no oily spots or anything like that, it didn't feel oily to touch either. I'm not sure why cause I used a lot of soap!🤔 So I just wiped it with a wet paper towel, NO pigment came off (although normally I like to wait longer before cleaning). I will test-varnish it with brush today, but I'm sure that spray varnish will work either way. Og yes, and I will share dry results on my page on Facebook facebook.com/olga.soby.art/
Great experiments! Instead of the spray bottle, you might try dipping an old tooth brush or nail brush in the soap, and combing with a stick to get a splatter effect. That might give you bigger cells. Also it might enable you to use a more concentrated soap solution that would be too thick for a spray bottle.
Thx Olga...love the experiments! Saw vid somewhere of someone adding a bit of alcohol to the white to create lacing ( waves on beach?) Also I wonder how silicone and alcohol would go together....another experiment idea!?
Olga. So AWESOME..another technique to get addicted to. Lol. I'm wondering if Dawn is the best dish soap or are the others ok to use. I personally use Dawn. Wildlife officials use Dawn to clean oil off animals if there is a spill. Don't know if you knew that. I'm anxious to try this. Thank you for sharing. I like all 3. But the one you blew on has real possibilities. Take care.
Love that you like to test new ways to do things like me. Think I should test making the middle and then spray and drop som soap on it. Love all your videos! Thank´s and seeing forward for the next.
Thabk you very much for this video. We really like the spray bottle. I also love the idea of getting the bubble/cell affect without needing to buy more items.
I like to wait longer, but I will test varnish one from the last week today. But some artists have been using soap for month/years, so I don't really expect to have any problems
I’ve been having trouble getting cells, I wondered if it could be that I’ve been using cheap ain’t till I got the hang of it. Also, I don’t always use floetrol because of the price, but today I had a pleasant surprise, I poured over some rocks, using floetrol, applied the torch and got more cells than I’ve ever had. Tomorrow I’m going to try the dish soap idea. Does it have to be dawn. I use a different brand
Aw man, I’m upset, I did what you did and nothing happened. My canvas is just wet and ugly now. Did you use camera tricks, some speacial kind of soap or something I don’t know about? 😔
it was probably too much dish soap. I've used dish soap quite a few times, and even a drop too much will turn your paints to mud, because it works by breaking down the paint. I found the best dish soap results by not adding much at all to the paint (like literally One drop!) and then use watered down dish soap and a toothbrush to splatter a bit onto the paint, after it spreads over the canvas. Don't know if this helps! 🫶🎨 Best of luck with this! Try experimenting with slightly different recipes, any results you don't love can be rinsed off your canvas! 💁😉
I am new to this kind of art work and I love it. What drew me to your art was your first name. My mothers name was Olga. Thanks for all the wonderful things I am learning for an 81 year old man.
I love this experiment! I thought I loved the spray bottle until you did the dropper, but I do like the little cells too. I'm in love with the dropper affect!!! Especially when the bubbles were moving when you were blowing. I'm seeing jellyfish. I'm still researching and gathering my supplies, but this is going to be one of the first paintings I do! I agree, you should never stop experimenting!
Even though I do not like the pink in the second test, I LOVE the small cells and the look of what they created. If in combination with larger cells on a bigger canvas it might create a unique look as well. But for now, the small cells and soap is my favorite. Good girl for trying.
I think the drip water soap idea looked like you were going to make a flower at first. I LOVE the technique, all them really. I started out using soap, but cells tookover and I got bored. I loved these! This is a technique I may have to revisit.
first time to see pouring, you are an EXCELLENT teacher and what fun this will be to try with my family of 24 at our next vacation! thanks for sharing.
So I tried pointing the spray bottle at different angles, like straight up, from the side and so on. Also changed the pressure I used is the squirt, it makes for all different sizes and shapes of the soap spray. Worth a try I think anyway. Ginher
@5:50 you can get bigger cells with the dish soap (or alcohol/silicone)using an eyedropper or pipette...which you can add paint on top with the dropper. Each of these mediums gives a different result it is cool to mix the same paint color formula but use silicone in one and dish soap and alcohol in the others because the paint is the same bit the cell patterns are different...a new thing to try if you ever feel like it! I love love love your experiments...paint pouring is all about new formulas and technics

Haha yes totally! SO MUCH to explore 😃 Thank you, Carrie
Take care.
Thank you, and no I had no idea! Such a cool fact!
I don't know if other soaps work differently, but I suppose the formula is similar?
Love that you like to test new ways to do things like me. Think I should test making the middle and then spray and drop som soap on it. Love all your videos! Thank´s and seeing forward for the next.
Sooooo wunderschön.😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you so much!😊
I think it would be cool to do all 3 on just one canvas! I do really like the first one the best.
that was so cool l am going to try these out l love the dropper effect
Thabk you very much for this video. We really like the spray bottle. I also love the idea of getting the bubble/cell affect without needing to buy more items.
You are most welcome, Sarah!😊
Has anyone tried varnishing or doing resin over dish soap?
I like to wait longer, but I will test varnish one from the last week today. But some artists have been using soap for month/years, so I don't really expect to have any problems
8bitArtist I was also wondering if you need to clean before varnishing or resining
I wiped it with a wet paper towel, let dry and varnished with a brush. Worked like a charm!
I got one of those flowers and never knew how it happened, now I do, yep yep. Super exciting👍🤗🙏💐
Does dish soap dry more quickly than silicone? A marvelous class with dish soap! Thank you Ms. Olga!
The canvas is not lost you can go over it again
I am new to this kind of art work and I love it. What drew me to your art was your first name. My mothers name was Olga. Thanks for all the wonderful things I am learning for an 81 year old man.
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing!!😊
Their shape is like soap bubbles.
Olga I have learnt so so much from you since I discovered you. Who would have thought of using soap but I love it and especially the middle one.
Her : okay I’m going to do one more
1 drop later: she dose 5 more
Me watching like: 👁👄👁
😆🙈
Cannot wait to try #1 & #2!!! Thanks for sharing! Beautiful results in all 3 for sure!!
Thank you so much!😊
Love seeing and learning new effects!!!!!
Love all 3!
I love it ! simple no fuss, Dish soap fantastic result. 👍👍👍
Thank you, Patti! And if you are researching, I highly recommend checking out Smart Art Materials website - smartartmaterials.com/
Merci Olga des trucs a essayer !
Even though I do not like the pink in the second test, I LOVE the small cells and the look of what they created. If in combination with larger cells on a bigger canvas it might create a unique look as well. But for now, the small cells and soap is my favorite. Good girl for trying.
This is so amazing...........I love paint pouring. Thank you for sharing. I cannot wait to try this.
Have fun!😊
Amazing!!! gratitude!👍
I think the drip water soap idea looked like you were going to make a flower at first. I LOVE the technique, all them really. I started out using soap, but cells tookover and I got bored. I loved these! This is a technique I may have to revisit.
As I personally don't like the shape of great stretched cells, I really love the second and third pour. Looks great.
first time to see pouring, you are an EXCELLENT teacher and what fun this will be to try with my family of 24 at our next vacation! thanks for sharing.
Wow, that sound super cool! Have a great vacay!
It was wonderful, I am going to watch the silicon experiment as well. I liked all 3. Thanks
You are most welcome!😊
So I tried pointing the spray bottle at different angles, like straight up, from the side and so on. Also changed the pressure I used is the squirt, it makes for all different sizes and shapes of the soap spray. Worth a try I think anyway. Ginher
All three are beautifull. Must say that of all videos I have seen, yours are the Best. Thank you!!!
You are most welcome, Julia! Happy you like them!😊
@5:50 you can get bigger cells with the dish soap (or alcohol/silicone)using an eyedropper or pipette...which you can add paint on top with the dropper.
Thanks Olga. This was more than useful as I'm stuck in Laos, because of borders locked, without chances for serious painting which troubling me. All 3 your artworks are looking good but my favourite is left one, drops...giving huge possibilities of working further. God bless. 🇷🇸🇱🇦
Oh no, it's rough time for travelers... Take Care🤗
@@OlgaSoby The thing is I'm not traveler. I am relocated to Asia 2006 and this time I went for my usual, yearly working visa and trapped now. No flights. Only charter but 5 times more expensive than before covid. Thanks.

I love your experiments! Very interesting!
Olga ...wow wow !! Love it especially the ones that you blew with the straw !! ❤️
Thanks so much, Cathy 😊
Very interesting ! A lot of thanks !
They are all beautiful. I like your color combination.
Really interesting effects. I'd never have thought of using dish soap (we call it washing up liquid over here, which is a bit of a mouthful!) So many new things to try out!
Haha totally! Where are you from, Debbie?
Merçi Olga j'ai adoré tes expériences je voudrais savoir quand sèchent est-ce que la peinture craque ?
Fantastic, thankyou for showing us this. I'm new to acrylic pouring & I've been trying to get better cells.
You’re welcome 😊
Hola Olga, quiero felicitarte por los maravillosos trabajos, y agradecerte por todo lo que nos enseñas en tus videos. Sos sumamente didáctica con tus explicaciones. Gracias por compartir!!!
You’re most welcome, Catiel! 😊
This is a fun experiment. It is worth developing more. Thanks for sharing
Hi. Thanks for sharing your experiments. I would like to know whether we could use resin on a pouring that u used a dishwashing soap on it. Will it stay or we should clean it well after it dries like silicone and then put resin on. Thanks
