Only commenting to confirm people are still discovering this in June 2024 and blown away by it. Will see him in atlanta in October… and didn’t know he existed til last week
I first heard him back when he had some songs on Sons of Anarchy, but only more recently started listening to his other stuff. This guy is absolutely flying under the radar. Hopefully he breaks through to mainstream with this music soon. Cos damn, he is so good.
Noah is one of my favourite current singer/songwriters. I'm a 56 year-old musician, and I mostly avoid the nostalgia-driven listening of my own generation. Every now and then, an artist makes me feel and dream like a young man again. This guy is one of them.
Noah's American classic. He'll do it forever and then all of a sudden everyone will say he's incredible (which he's been ... for years) like a Brandi Carlile
Just saw Noah in Ann Arbor last week. 3rd time I've seen him. This was a stripped down acoustic tour with his sister, Abby. The full band shows I had previously seen were outstanding, but I must say that the acoustic show was another level.
Same all around. Was a The Ark last week, too, and 3rd time seeing him. Noah and Abby are gifted. Her playing blew me away. She pulls this really sweet sound out of the violin. Cheers!
It's honestly hard to say for sure if I come back here for Noah or KEXP's supreme reign on audio production. Hell, at this point even the video guy gets my vote.
It was very good, except his vocals needed to be louder I thought (pretty hard for the sound guy to fix though when the singer barely pushes it out half the time and then belts it out other times).
A multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, producer, and composer... or as most people like to call it, a “singer-songwriter” This guy is one of the most consistent artists since he’s been around. I literally just binged all of his KEXP sessions in a row and can confirm.
Robin Williams, in the great English folk song tradition. And as with any great musician, their own stamp on a timeless styling. Simply, stunningly gorgeous. (with a massive clap for his band and the production crew at KEXP)
I actually really love this new look of Noah's. You can see his face. His eyes. Him. And he looks 10 years younger than he did with long dark hair, moustache & sunglasses. Looking good, healthy, and younger :)
Drummer here...wow wow wow. Beautiful stuff, love how the drummer replicates the programmed drums in ‘Lover’ dragging the groove and then the 1/8 note triplets in the chorus. So, so good. When Noah comes back “I don’t need no looooooover...” at the end, oh man. Goosebumps. Can not wait to see you in London in Jan!!
Got into Noah when Family came out, didn't realize his music was in Sons of Anarchy till way later on, he came up on Spotify under Ben Howard radio and loved him since, amazing artist and talented musician, got me through slot of heart break, and I lay in bed losing someone I love, I still admire him
Noah is unbelievably inspiring for me; he's one of my biggest influences when making music and i genuinely hope to be in the same conversations as him one day. So much love and respect for this guy.
Wow! so beautiful to hear ..... hit that replay button a few times while it all just sank in... deep down while lifting me into them clouds....love it. THANK YOU
John is such an incredible host, so personable and intentional. I always look forward to these performances when a new record is released. I saw Noah back in 2012 in Nashville and ever since his lyrics are the words to the feelings I can't articulate. I feel like I've grown up with him and it's so fun to go back and watch previous appearances on KEXP and remember how those songs felt 2/4/6/8 years ago and where I was at in my 20s. Thanks for sharing your gift Noah, its impact is immeasurable. (Also round of applause to the whole production team at KEXP... these are an absolute joy to watch and listen to.)
Not only is this a great performance, the interview is really really good. When they say they were hanging out, I believe it. The way they talk to one another feels like new friends learning about one another. And old friends at the same friend.
This dude is a national treasure. I mean, the first 2 songs, well, holy shit, OMG, WTF…Noah outta be a worldwide superstar. But that maybe would not be a good thing? The best talent to come along in this last 20 years, period. And the band behind him??? Absolutely mind boggling in the precision and dedication to perfection. The swells, the piano…all of it. Just, like folks say…be glad to exist at the same point in time.
I love all the Kexp crew, but Noah's host shall always be John Richards! Just like these new songs, Noah himself seems so much calm and reflexive. The 30's really suit him. Thank you so much Noah and KEXP for this video. It will help us go through the next weaks.
Noah, thank you for your religious background. I’m sorry some judge you for it. Your honesty and vulnerability about wrestling with your faith was a significant part of my own coming to terms with what I really believe and what was real to me. As I’m sure you don’t look on your past harshly, I don’t either. All this to say, your journey helped me too and I’m sorry people struggle to see all the parts that made way for your art to be as honest and vulnerable as it truly is. I still remember when I first heard your song “Garden” at the coffee shop while at Baylor. Thanks for being their with me throughout my journey to 30 as well. Much love, Sam
Obsoletely golden 😉 voice . Thank god for music and all of those who make it. Especially the young indie / alternative, whatever they w@nt to call it. By them, I mean the “powers” that be. The music comes first for these kids and I love it.
Completely agree about the phone disease: we're dehumanizing ourselves. I like TH-cam, but I love nature, the outdoors, having actual conversations with people while being able to look them in the eye (communication is so much easier when you're actually together, facial expressions, body language, etc), etc: the REAL experience.
11:00 - psychologists call it "Age 30 transition" and it is a very important milestone and psychological time in life. For most people, especially men, around age 30, you really develop into who you are and what your trajectory will be. Those who fail to land comfortably in the decade of their thirties often end up in a mid-life crisis.
I just love this man's sound! I appreciate the softness of his voice & why he sings that way but am really struggling to hear the lyrics that trail off which is driving me crazy.

We’re still here, we’re still listening and we’re still amazed!! He is so talented!!!
The new album........just..........no words.
I just found him a couple hrs ago. Really good. Wish I found him sooner.
I first heard him back when he had some songs on Sons of Anarchy, but only more recently started listening to his other stuff. This guy is absolutely flying under the radar. Hopefully he breaks through to mainstream with this music soon. Cos damn, he is so good.

Why isn't this kid a superstar?
'kid' Noah has a long road ahead himself already, he's just not commercially successful, nor does he want to.
I've been asking the same since I discovered him with the Sons of Anarchy premiere in 2008
Just saw Noah in Ann Arbor last week. 3rd time I've seen him. This was a stripped down acoustic tour with his sister, Abby. The full band shows I had previously seen were outstanding, but I must say that the acoustic show was another level.

Please bring Noah back for "A Pillar of Salt"! Love these live recordings but I also want to listen to the new songs :D
WHERE HAS THIS MAN BEEN ALL OF MY LIFE? I'm in love with his voice and his handsome face, the lyrics are amazing. WOW!
It's honestly hard to say for sure if I come back here for Noah or KEXP's supreme reign on audio production. Hell, at this point even the video guy gets my vote.
It's polished!
It was very good, except his vocals needed to be louder I thought (pretty hard for the sound guy to fix though when the singer barely pushes it out half the time and then belts it out other times).
Criminally underviewed

My goodness, this is just ridiculously good. This dude deserves every bit of success that's come to him and more. He worked his whole life for it.
Robin Williams is such a fantastic representation of Noah's vocal capabilities.
And this is why I listen to every artist on KEXP knowing that I won't connect with most of them. Today I found a gem.
Amen, and its why we must lean in to the curiosity that only art can feed. Makes us more human.

i was thinking the exact same, 10 years.
I loved the Jesus look better

...Noah’s vocals in ‘Lover’ really are phenomenal. Watched it over and over.
you should check out live videos from when alex was on tour with bazan. incredible to watch his skill.
Oh my God. Thank you KEXP for bringing us these incredibly powerful live recordings.
Got into Noah when Family came out, didn't realize his music was in Sons of Anarchy till way later on, he came up on Spotify under Ben Howard radio and loved him since, amazing artist and talented musician, got me through slot of heart break, and I lay in bed losing someone I love, I still admire him
He has always been an excellent writer and vocalist but you can really notice the mastery he has over his voice now. Love you Noah
Noah is unbelievably inspiring for me; he's one of my biggest influences when making music and i genuinely hope to be in the same conversations as him one day. So much love and respect for this guy.
How is his voice so heartbreaking?? Gorgeous.
These are just amazing songs, so amazing lyrics and so amazing voice. I am just obsessed. This type of mega talent should be more well known...
THIS is music.
Wow! so beautiful to hear ..... hit that replay button a few times while it all just sank in... deep down while lifting me into them clouds....love it. THANK YOU

Brilliant performing artist who wears his heart on his sleeve... Glasgow live performance was phenomenal ❤️👊🏻
I feel like I'm late to the party, but somehow also early? I'm shocked Noah isn't known more broadly. This was an amazing performance.
12:50 it was brave and impressive for him to say these things. Much respect for questioning the status quo.
Discovered him trough the sons of anarchy tv series, years ago. Nice surprise to see him here.
How the shit is Gunderson not a global superstar.
Not only is this a great performance, the interview is really really good. When they say they were hanging out, I believe it. The way they talk to one another feels like new friends learning about one another. And old friends at the same friend.
I haven't really liked the song Lover until this performance. Whoa. What a song.
If he's ever near you I urge you to go see him live, you won't regret it 100% guaranteed
same
In love with him in every way
You are so talented, keep making music. Our whole family loves you!!!!
An amazing artist and a genuinely good human being.
A couple of years ago, someone commented that 'this is ridiculously good.' I could not agree more.
Yay so glad I just discovered him! Feel more musically complete
Seen in concert a few times … fantastic!
This dude is a national treasure. I mean, the first 2 songs, well, holy shit, OMG, WTF…Noah outta be a worldwide superstar. But that maybe would not be a good thing?

beautiful man........ and music. ✨🔥
All of these songs are absolutely wonderful.
Watermelon is truly one of my faves from him. Loved it the first time I heard it. Just Awesome on here.
Perfect as always. We love you, Noah ❤️. Thank you for making my days better, everyday.
So sad that this guy hasn't been discovered yet in Brazil ... great songs!
Wow! A great talent and a nice human too. Thanks to KEXP, John, Cheryl and all the DJs and staff.
Been waiting for this to be on TH-cam for a long time. Amazing performance!
Love the chemistry between these two. Can definitely tell they chill together regularly, but not just when Noah is promoting new work.
Love, love, love ❣ can't wait to see Noah live in Stockholm 💫🥳🙏
Watermelon is such a beautiful song.
Wow.. very moving and the passion just radiates from his voice! Went to college in Bellingham, WA. Beautiful area!
I love all the Kexp crew, but Noah's host shall always be John Richards!
Just like these new songs, Noah himself seems so much calm and reflexive. The 30's really suit him.
Thank you so much Noah and KEXP for this video. It will help us go through the next weaks.
Thank you KEXP for another amazing production... powerful set from Noah !!!
The power in his voice in Lover is incredible
This performance gained you two new fans :) Amazing production and sound. Love the intensity and modulation.
Magically musical.

Obsoletely golden 😉 voice . Thank god for music and all of those who make it. Especially the young indie / alternative, whatever they w@nt to call it. By them, I mean the “powers” that be. The music comes first for these kids and I love it.
So fiew views.... What's happening! This deserve milions for people watching this!
I'm lovin the Radiohead vibes on that "Out of Time" song, and the 1975 vibes in Lover! Noah is such an amazing artist and vocalist!
AMAZING!
YES!
Amazing. So good!

I was reminded of the great ending of Out of Time. Even better live.
my favorite voice
Incredible!
Noah is unreal

Just amazing 💜
First time listening to out of time. Wasn't expecting that.
magical!
This was awesome thank you
So good! Would love to have him on ‘smallsongs’ !
I just love this man's sound!
I appreciate the softness of his voice & why he sings that way but am really struggling to hear the lyrics that trail off which is driving me crazy.
Чудово, душевне виконання. Браво!!!
Looking forward to his gig in Utrecht Vredenburg on 01-24-2020
This guy is just a god. Amazing.
Him Performing Robin Williams is better than listening to I forgot that you existed.
I click on the old KPX with his family and feel its more natural
This a beautiful set, kind of a weird alt country Radiohead vibe
Not getting any Radiohead vibes here. Sounds like Sting. But with a better voice
Oh my gosh, Daniel Buhr! Exactly!!!
Chills
