Family biz has me doing other projects for a bit. This video was made during "The Quiet Time". I'll get back to work as soon as I can. Thanks for dropping by and I can't wait to see YOUR next video.
@@JohnTYoung thanks John. I live in a small town without a true welding supply shop. Sooo when you don’t plan and run out of Argon and it takes a week to get more, it really sucks! Got it today, tomorrow is practicing the joints. Hopefully be able to move on by the middle of next week. And I have customer bikes to finish too. Is that enough lame excuses or should I do more?
@@JohnTYoung ummmmm had a hang nail, full moon, my mech eng corses became so riveting I could tear myself away. Think that about it. For now. I can probably come up with more.
Thanks again for another tutorial. When I swapped over to an IMS tank. I had an issue with my fuel pump I've had to replace it already. So be extra careful
Yo JTY where did you get your fuel filter? Having a hard time finding one at the usual online stores... not a huge fan of ebay but there are a bunch there... thanks sir...
You didn't change any O-rings? I bought the expensive Honda 06160-MKE-A00 kit and it includes 2 small O-rings and the rubber boot for the pump and the large O-ring on the outside and the strange looking ring on the outside. Did you find a cheap way to get the filter without the rubber stuff? again - thanks for the video. 👍
How to Change the Valve Stem Cores: "First let's get the tank off." Because most maintenance tasks with this model seem to require removal of the tank.
Excellent video on this! I'm in process of picking up a 450RL and you have been my "Go to guy" for mods!
Thanks Sean.
Nice to see a little workshop for projects
Ya! Less dirty and road noise now.
Great video as always. Waiting for your Rebel yell! The new workspace looks allot more sano than the previous one.

Just picked up a 450L and your videos are saving my #@&$....as im doing a ton of maintenance and upgrades
Awesome!
after watching, I think I will try to double your mileage between fuel filter changes. what a royal pita.
Ya, other than that initial change it seems excessive
Thanks again for another tutorial. When I swapped over to an IMS tank. I had an issue with my fuel pump I've had to replace it already. So be extra careful
Oh no. What happened? The pump itself is pretty robust.
Maybe next time could you go over how to change the blinker fluid?
If you run synthetic you should almost never have to change it. Just top it off now and then.
@@JohnTYoung LOL!
Thanks for the good videos and humor. When it comes time to change my fuel filter in the 450l I now know how to not break it. 👍🏻
JTY you should be payed by Honda....and the others producers that you present to us in a really successful way.
Thank you very much 😊😊😊😊😊
Wow, thank you!
This was great. Thank you. I knew I needed to change but said I would wait til JTY shows me how. Lol. Great videos. Your the 450l guru
Oh man! Don't wait for me, just dive right in there.
Good one John. Happy New Year
Thanks Bob! And to you too. Yay 2021!
I appreciate your detailed videos, thank you ✌🏼
And I appreciate your comments. Thank you!!
Awesome John thanks! I changed mine at the recommended 1800 miles and now that seems like a waste 🤣 it still looked brand new! oh well
Thanks, Christian. Mine seemed to work fine even after all those miles, too.
Great video, will come in handy in the future when I have to change mine
Thanks. I hope I made life a little easier.
Thank JT. Great video
Thanks Richard
Thank you for this detailed Video again :-)
so the conclusion is it wasn't even really necessary to change the filter at this high mileage
Not for mine, but someone else living somewhere else may have to change theirs way more often.
Lets rotate the air in the tires next..lol J/K. Very helpful John!
And change the valve stem filters while we're at it. Now you're getting the idea!
Thanks John, an other great instructional Video (chopstick rate 10)👌
Thank YOU bf.
Yeah, that white wire definitely pulled right out pulled out of the connection
Hopefully it popped right back in.
Super helpful vid as always John. Thx
You bet!
Really like your channel. Did you ever figure out the reason for high levels of fuel in the oil?
I have not. Seems to be a common theme, however. Thanks for watching and joining the conversation.
Yo JTY where did you get your fuel filter? Having a hard time finding one at the usual online stores... not a huge fan of ebay but there are a bunch there... thanks sir...
Partzilla, as I recall.
Excellent instructional as usual John. When you get to 20K mi, are you going to do the engine tear-down yourself?
Probably. I’ve done other multi cylinder bikes so this ought to be easy. 😬
@@JohnTYoung can't wait. This will be good. Maybe time to install 19HP cam?
@@DSLRvideonow You'd be halfway there for sure.

again - thanks for the video. 👍
I just went ahead and changed everything out I think. It's not like I'm going to be going back in there of the next years or so.
Also my thought.
Not doing it again for a long time. 😂
Good stuff, thanks!
Thank you!
Thanks John
Thanks for watching Ras
Wait, did I miss the other video of the rally front end?
Nope. Just didn't want people to have to wait toooooo long for another video and I had this one already done.

True story
@@JohnTYoung If it makes you feel any better, the external fuel filter on my BMW F650GS Dakar costs around $280.00. No joke.
@@menopillion9853 I doesn't me feel better, but I do feel bad for you.
Looks like it’s not easy to install Rebel X rally kit =)
This video was made long before I got the kit. The kit is on hold while I take care of some personal stuff.
@@JohnTYoung I've already thought about it. I can't wait to see what the bike will look like after kit installation.
@@COOKIEMONSTER90 Me either! I just need some Me time to finish it.
Why not an old fashioned in line fuel filter outside the tank????
It's mated to the fuel pickup for the fuel pump, which all sits inside the tank.
Do you still have your IMS tank?
I do not. I sold it to help finance the Nomad tank.
🤣🙈🙉
What about 🙊?
