16:24 Teddy listens to Metal, Metalcore, and heavier music. Hearing this alone makes me want to drive to Cleveland and meet this dude and buy a BA watch! Cheers Teddy you are the man!
90s hip hop instrumentals are one of the best parts of being alive today. As a writer, it’s every day I’m listening to Dilla beats on vinyl. Respect, Teddy!
I like what you said about taking a step back to cherish what you currently have instead of chasing what’s new or what’s next is 100% true. Your video always brings so much value in your video not just about watch. Congrats on the 1M subs. Hopefully of these days I’ll get to visit store.
1 Million subs......wow.....I may of not been here from the beginning but I've been here enough to say thank you for all you do for the community. After 3 years of watching (lol) watch videos. I finally picked up my first omega. Not a speedmaster but a white dial seamaster and I'm in love. Glad to be here for the million and I hope to be here for the 2 million. Much Love - TWT
The Grand Seiko 9F quartz is an even better value proposition than the spring drive. It's a completely in-house movement, and GS even grows their own quartz crystals and makes their own conductors. The computer chip scans the air over 500 times a day to adjust for any temperature changes. GS says it's accurate to 10 seconds a year, but everyone swears it's not even off by a single second which is insane to think about. I'm seriously going for this over a spring drive. With a reasonable discount, you can easily get one for below $2,000, and they come with the same dials and craftmanship as any other GS. Seriously a no-brainer. (and congrats on 1 million Teddy!)
Best part of having a watch collection, I am finding now, is taking moments of extended time when you just enjoy what you have -each one individually, without chasing anything new. Yeah, those "moment" won't last forever, and you'll eventually want something new - taste change, models or fashions change, but those moments make watches worth having.
I have some experience with going to expensive watch stores, they are usually very welcoming and just want you to have a good time, they will get every watch you want to try from the lockers, sit down with you and let you try em out and chat about them. I've even specified that I won't be able to buy any of them, but they just deflected it by saying the most important part of a buying decision is to try watches on your wrist, see them, feel them. Pictures on internet and youtube can only show a 2d representation, and pics can vary in colour density depending on who photoshopped them afterwards . I've never had a bad comment when I said I couldn't afford to buy this speedmaster I'm trying on. They even encouraged me to take wrist shots. The most important thing is to be respectful of the staff and showing interest, not just "no i'm just browsing" when they come to ask if you need help. Engage with them, and you get a GREAT experience. One clerk said I wasn't wasting his time at all, most customers want to come to a store and try different things, before making a decision maybe days or weeks later, it's fine. But of course, be reasonable and don't lock down an employee for 2 hours when you don't plan on buying anything at all. Also if the store has no customers at that time period they seem more than happy to just chat with you about watches and show you around the store. Makes the day less boring.
I just visited the Teddy store in Crocker Park today. I told the staff I had dreams and milestones for the future but I couldn't do anything today, but my younger son wanted to stop in and see some of the high end watches. The staff was super friendly and let me browse to our hearts desire. Excellent and super friendly staff!
I recently got a nice chunk of unexpected money and one of my first thoughts was im going to buy myself another watch but not just another casio i want a 500 - 700 dollar watch which is a lot of money for me. After calculating all the other good things i need to do with this money and bills etc... i decided i cannot treat myself in this way which made me sad for a day or so but then it got me thinking about my collection now and how much i really do love and appreciate it. As affordable as my collection is im ok with that. For now at least :) one day i hope to get the dream watch its just not the right time yet.
Great video. Something I would bring up with trying on watches “out of your price range” is that you never know when your fortunes may change. Having tried on watches of various styles/prices can be helpful when you are finally able to pull the trigger.
When ordering my Tudor BB i called my local AD, they didn't have the one i wanted but let me come in and try some on. Since they knew i was interested, and called a head the experience was awesome. Ordered the black bay i wanted and didnt feel rushed or intimidated. Good question though cause initially i was worried i wouldn't "fit in"
I got the speedmaster white dial one in Paris! This watch celebrates my 30th anniversary with my lovely wife and our 50th birthday!!! 🥳 it’s so special and I’m lucky to get a chance to buy this piece. 🤩🤩🤩
I envy you were able to pick it up in Paris. That’s wonderful. It is indeed special. I am on the list for one here in Honolulu boutique; sounds like I should be able to pick it up within the next couple of months.
Brand new to this part of our wonderful world, and was moved by your appeal to gratitude and a gentle reminder that these little marvels are not our identity. I want to enter into watch ownership for enjoyment and as a marker of moments in this life for which I am thankful. And goodness are there some options to marvel at!
You would never know Teddy likes Hard Rock and Metal by looking at him. This is yet another classic example of not judging a book by its cover. He is just as passionate about music as he is passionate about watches.
nkuwan You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
I tried on the white Speedmaster at an Omega boutique in London a couple weeks ago, and it looks really good. It wears just like every other Speedmaster, but the look is quite different and very cool.
I own several Rolex, Omega, IWC, Sieko, G-Shock watches, etc. I can honestly say, I pick up my Speedy more often than most. I wear it with the bracelet, or various nato bands. I just love the iconic look. I will be purchasing the white face immediately. Thank you for sharing and congrats on 1MM subscribers!
Big Congrats Teddy! 1500€ or under: The Twelve by Christopher Ward. Reliable movement and beautifully finished. The Best Quartz: Longines VHP: Best Accuracy at +-5 sec a year and comes in 3 digit price range, GMT models can even be set with Morse Code and are the most practical GMTs with easy switch between home and travel modes. VHP models also have the low power feature wherein you pull the crown and keep it to rest, when you push it back it goes to the current time. Also has a perpetual calendar until 2399 AD.
Got lucky enough to try on the new white dial speedy as my local boutique had one in for exhibition. The pictures don't do it justice at all, the white really pops (compared to my EXP II I was wearing at the time) and the movement looks amazing in the display caseback, definitely one to add to my collection when the hype dies down and they're readily available.
Hey Teddy, We visited Westlake from Toledo this past Saturday. The store is TOP NOTCH! Will was very knowledgeable and polite. It helped me identify what my holy grail watch is (and rule out another). I'll be returning soon.
Teddy and team, Congratulations on hitting the 1M subscriber's milestone!!! Purchasing my fifteenth watch from your team in two weeks. They make excellent gifts for family members. Best wishes to Jon and Will for their superb customer service.
I love the white dial. Surprised that it took this long for this to come out. Glad to hear your store is doing well. I grew up in Westlake! Cleveland rocks!

I'm happy to see Teddy grow to what he is now. I got into mechanical movements because of Teddy's gateway video he posted a long time ago about Orient. I ended up picking the Orient Maestro. I fell in love with the mechanical watches and picked up a Hamilton soon after. I haven't bought another watch for another 4 years since I really loved the Hamilton but just recently got the JLC Polaris with green dial and love it more than the Hamilton. I'm probably not going to buy another watch for awhile but will be saving up for my end game watch which is a patek Philippe. Cheers Teddy!
Its actually kind of funny you mention trying a watch on that you're not going to buy just yet because my first time going to a boutique I was looking at the green aqua terra, because I wanted to compare it to a grand seiko I was looking at. I tell them up front, hey I'm here to browse and understand my options, and they were extremely friendly and understanding. Really cool guys, but be up front with them. I'm saving up for a 41mm green aqua terra, mostly because I got the opportunity to be outside with it and appreciate it.

I think Teddy B is well aware of the facts behind the 9F.
Agreed, have an SBGV245 and the only reason it’s not accurate to the second is when I have to adjust it for DST twice a year. Scary accurate.
