- We're on the hunt for a new project to start on TH-cam. Our friend Lindsay is selling his 1938 Ford two door sedan so we had to come take a look at it. Not sure what shape it's in so we're gonna check it out and see what kind of price he's asking for it...

Hi Chad & Jolene, it is a shame that it got banged up but, it might be a good deal for you since the price should be good in the shape it is in. It is especially nice that it has a flat head V-8 in it. If nothing else could Jolene race it with the 8 it would be fun. Jolene great camera work as always hopefully we will get video of you two riding in it. Thanks for taking us along again and I will be back tomorrow.
Any vintage car, if it can be bought at a reasonable price, is worthwhile to save.

38 Deluxe are sweet rides. The front ends are some of the best styling from the 30’s. Love the art deco look

Ever notice that about all the yard cars have the open carb deal to let in all kinds of trash and water. Wouldn't trust any of those relics to be good. In our neck of the woods, the farmers use gas and diesel engines on irrigation wells. They always put covers on the exhausts and fuel intakes to keep them from getting messed up.
I believe that tarp on the ground is normally covering the engine.
I hope you get this one! But if you do, Please don't chop it. It's too pristine!

Yes. I think the mid 30's cars were the coolest. They were almost animated looking. Fenders and hoods were exaggerated. They were art.
At about 14 minutes into this, I’m gathering that it has an issue with starting even if the battery was up from the way he’s wording things carefully. Not a big deal but on 6 Volts,cleanliness is next to godliness as far as battery terminals groundstraps and contact points. 6 V systems are less volts, but more amps and it takes almost everything they put out to put back what they use, That’s what an old Volkswagen guy told me and I dabbled in them in high school and a little bit after high school in the 70s it looks like a jewel to me. I hope you get it.

Information for 6 volt old car systems. You do not need to change over to 12 volt system. Do this.
Install an eight volt car battery..special order, but available. Now the old 6 volt starter spins over
a lot faster with new life. Your lights and any other electrics will not suffer..no damage from this
change over. Quick fix and works great ! 😊😊😊
Irish fan, great looking car. Buy it if you get a chance, regardless of on going projects. This would be a nice job to take on when you get some of your other stuff sorted. As always I see the begrudgers on this channel, the ones that run other people down, same ones that couldn't strike a match with the instructions being present on the side of the box.....ha.... I always dig watching you and Jolene's social out and about videos, I'm more of a chevy fellow but for the right price I think I'd come home with this one, I always liked the front ends on the 30s and I think I'd be good quick fixable content for the canal

I watch you all the time.. some cars should never be chopped up though!!!! They should be brought back to original to save them... If there are too far gone that's another story... Border patrol really nice old car that can be restored please don't chop them up!!!!!

@@nelsonmattoon150 it's the only way you can keep automobile history live for the future...!!!!!! There is less and less of the old cars that people haven't chopped up and hot rodded... But if it's an original condition and restorable... We need to preserve these vehicles!!!!!!

If the 38 Ford is good mechanically, you should buy it for sure! It looked really solid underneath and the interior is beautiful for 85 years of age.

Buy it preserve it as is after you make it a runner. Not many in this condition around anymore.

You could have the flathead rebuilt and stick it in the little car you were given and turn it into a gasser 👍

Got a friend in San Francisco who has a 38 Ford, x dirt track racer and still running one brake light, 39 had one brake light also, on this guys 38 , someone installed the second brake light

pop & mom brought me home from the hospital when I was born in 1946, in the same car, it always had a fuel pump trouble, pop finally put an electric pump on it.

If I had the money, I'd buy it, it's worth adding to your museum, as gas cars get phased out for electric cars, and soon all governments will try to ban gas powered cars. It's easy to rejet a carburetor for 100 proof and higher achahol. Eventually, only alcohol cars will be the only ones on the road, as ethanol takes over. However, I'd run moonshine as it's more pure than ethanol, which is all over the place for octane. It worked for the moonshiners. Anyway, old cars are getting harder to come by as the prices skyrocket for them. So I'd buy as many old classic cars and trucks I could if I had the money. Here in california, the air resource board is trying to ban all non electric vehicles. In the future only hotrod's and new ev cars will be the only thing left. As they try to eliminate the rest. And even hotrod's can only be on the road for under a certain amount of miles allowed per year. That's their plan for 2030, so I'd stock up on vintage rides as when it happens, they will be worth their weight in gold.
