Kedarnath is a town located in the Rudraprayag district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is known for its religious significance as it houses the famous Kedarnath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. The town is situated in the Garhwal Himalayas, and it attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists each year, especially during the Char Dham Yatra season. Kedarnath is a picturesque and serene place surrounded by stunning natural beauty.
1. Chennai to Delhi: You can fly from Chennai to Delhi, which is a major transportation hub. This flight takes approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Or else you can choose Direct Train from chennai.
2. Delhi to Haridwar : From Delhi, train to reach Haridwar , Uttarakhand.while the train journey may take around 5 to 7 hours.
3. Haridwar to Kedarnath: From Haridwar , you will need to travel by road to reach Kedarnath. The distance is approximately 240 kilometers, and the journey can take around 8 to 10 hours by car or bus.
4. Trek to Kedarnath Temple: Once you reach the town of Gaurikund near Kedarnath, you’ll need to start a trek of about 16 kilometers to reach the Kedarnath Temple. This trek can take around 6 to 8 hours depending on your pace and weather conditions.

It’s advisable to check the latest travel information and plan your trip accordingly, especially if you intend to visit Kedarnath, a place of religious significance and natural beauty.

Temple timings is 4am to 9 pm. But temple will be closed between 3pm to 5pm everyday.
