Hey, first I want to say thank you and great work putting together this video. That said, I had a problem where my Sync Module 2 stopped recording my Blink doorbell. I tried the basics of unplugging and plugging back in, also safe ejecting the usb storage and plugging it back in. Neither worked. What did work was deleting the Sync Module 2 from the system, then adding it back to the system. Once I did this it said my data was corrupt and prompted me to depress the reset tab on the back of the sync module 2. Of course I did have to re-enter my wifi password etc, but once I followed these steps I walked out front and it immediately recorded a video of me in front of the video doorbell. Hopefully this helps.
I can also confirm this method works and I’m back up to detecting motion on my door bell and window cam thanks. As for the shoddy motion detection itself, that’s another story. Sometimes it will go the entire day not capturing anything, seem to have to turn MD (little guy running) off and on or wake it up by going into live view. Seems to want to do it’s own thing which defeats the purpose of a security camera being alert 100% of the day. Would not count on this camera in a bad neighborhood or if you are trying to catch someone in the act. 65% reliability at best.
I’ve had 2 cameras for over a year now and the motion recording suddenly stopped saving onto my USB drive 3 days ago. When I call tech support they give me the run around about how my wifi network must have firewalls somewhere. Bull, haven’t done any changes to my firewalls one but. I refuse to pay for a subscription and it’s some BS on Blink & Amazon’s part. Thanks for your info in this video. Amazon & Blink should be charged in Federal court for False Claims
Hi Jim. I know what you mean. It is more than frustrating to say the least. But some people have had success by coping their UBS drive footage on to a computer, formatting the USB, and then mounting it back into the sync module. Maybe it will work for you. Please let me know.
I had to delete my sync module and re install it, and it started working again. But now it stopped saving my videos again and nothing and I mean NOTHING Ive tried works.
Great video. My issue I’ve noticed is my blink mini seems to go offline at 7am each morning. It shows it’s on but all motion recordings stop until later in the afternoon.
I have 18 Blink cameras and my ex gets in my house constantly. I don't know if he is jamming them or what. They get everyone else and every critter around but never him.
My cameras have also stop recording. I don’t have a subscription but a USB, have uninstalled, deleted module. I think I have done everything but obviously not. The live stream is working just not recording or giving me any notifications. I have watched everyone of your videos but still not recording. Thank you.

Unfortunately, the "Amazon Tollbooth" is going to require a subscription at this point. I wish I knew of a better solution. Thanks again for the question. I'll keep digging for another solution.

Hi IDA! Maybe. But check the camera sensitivity. It may not be high enough. Also make sure the system is armed too. You may need to reset the Zones as well. If you are on a subscription plan, it should work.

Hi TEEINALLCAPS. Thanks for asking. That's a great question. We'll non-subscribed cameras are scheduled to record during the trial period. When that time expires, it should discontinue the recording feature immediately. But sometimes the process of disconnecting the features may take a while to process. Sooner or later the process finally downloads into the camera and the feature stops functioning. I believe this is the case with your camera as well.
I have 4 cameras and I get notifications of motion detected but once I get on the app I don’t see any video and I didn’t have a problem last week. This week I’m not able to see the videos that it notify me. Is there anyway you could help me?

I bought Onn 128 GB flash drive with USB 3.0 from Walmart. When I plug in the flash drive to the sync module 2, it starts recording but when it’s backing up to the flash drive, it says the backup clip failed. Any suggestions?!
Hi Pheara Lim! You can try re-formatting the drive in a computer first, then re-installing it into the sync module. But make sure you eject it from the sync module through the app before you take it out. Thanks for the question. I hope it helps.
the last camera system before i changed to blink the red IR ring saved me they could see the ring as they approached and left i started with the mini then expanded to the outdoor then door bell with the door bell i couldnt figure out why nothing was recording from anything turned out it was switched to disarmed because i had to disarm it to add the door bell and just never armed it again
I have just installed one of these on front of my property but due to being on top of a hill I can't have my motion on even if I zone out areas it still sets motion off all through the night. I've had 2 blink cameras for about 4 years. I recently added a new outside camera. All 3 cameras record and save the data to my phone. I still use the old Blink Module. Perhaps the issue is the new Module....seems like the new module's software will not allow you to record unless you have a subscription. Hi Guys, have great NEWS. not that Blink team or Amazon helped in any way, that is such a shame :( Got it working with the help of TH-cam guy ( Blink issues like Clips not uploading on module!) Website link is th-cam.com/video/48NrGmNTyO4/w-d-xo.html 1) first thing I did is TURN OFF your Wifi router for 2-5 mins Then TURN IT BACK ON. 2) You need to factory reset the sync module 2 by pressing the little button on the rear of the module. 3) Reset your sync module wifi setup with the set up provided in the app using your wifi pass code. 4) Replace the USB Zip Drive and you are good to go.. Test the system by making sure you have push notification disabled in the app for all cameras. Then go walk about and set of all the Blinks you have set up.. Wish you all well. This one comes with a module. So I set it up and was working fine with the usb storage. And suddenly it stops recording is it for the reason you said that I have one on a plan and the other is not ?
Good info but I think we have all been scammed by Amazon. . I’ve had 2 years of subscription free hassle free recording and Amazon decide “let’s start switching customers cameras off and charge them a subscription” If we had known this from the start we wouldn’t have bought the cameras. . RIP OFF

Hello great video I was wondering if you had any other tips for this problem. In my case I did go from a no plan to a plan then back to a no plan. Now it tells me “This Usb storage device has no clips” i checked the usb and its empty
Hi NotSeedBun! That's a good question. First, I would verify that there are no clips on the USB. Unmount the USB from the sync module, then insert it into a computer. Check it for any footage. If you find any clips, save them to your computer. I would also format the USB, unplug the sync module from power for 2 minutes, plug it back into power, wait for it to reconnect, then re-mount the USB into the sync module. When the module discovers it, it may bring it back online. I hope it works. Thanks for taking the time to ask and comment.

I still cannot get motion record and I have no subscription, it will not let me turn that on it is grayed out on the settings, all I get is live view and notifications I’m not on Record have they done some thing in the past month I can only get the recording if I pay for the subscription
Hi Twig! Maybe I can help. Do you have a USB connected to the sync module? If so, some people have had success by disconnecting and then re-connecting the external USB drive from the module. But make sure you go to the settings and safely eject it first. You may have to clear all the data on the USB drive as well. I hope this helps.

Hi Carlos! Check the storage space in the USB drive. Drives can be up to 256 gigs but no higher. You could also try re-mounting the drive. If necessary power down the unit for a few minutes then plug it up again.
Beside the suggestions below I deleted and downloaded the app. That did not help. Then I reset the module by pressing the button on the back and re-adding the blink module. That seemed to help in my case.
I bought mine just under a year ago. Last month, they just stopped recording. They start to recording and then I get blinking green lights. I've tried everything including deleting the entire system and starting all over. Nothing has worked. Live view, wifi, and usb are all fine. Don't know what the blinking green lights mean.
Hi Dawn! I'm so sorry to hear about the trouble. It looks like you've done a great job trouble shooting. But let's try one more thing. Try resetting your router too. The green blinking light means there is some sort of communion error. The router could be the problem. I hope this helps.
@@TeachMe101 I will try it but I emailed blink and found out that this system i purchased in January is longer eligible for usb storage. I either have to pay $10 a month or buy a system according to them. I wouldn't have purchased them if I had known that they were going to delete that feature.
My early non-subscription worked "perfect" until I got a new router. With the new VZW cellular router I get motion detection notifications, but no video clip. Occasionally, I get partial video or a still frame, and even more rare actual video. I can save live views and those clips show up. Live view works great. Cameras and sync module all show good wi-fi. Router shows that the sync module is connected. On the router I can get 8Mbps upload of TH-cam video, no problem. Router seems to stream video just fine. Router and phone are on the same provider and I would assume the same tower. I can replace the router with the hotspot on my phone in the same location and the system works "perfectly" again. What to do?
Hi Mike! I'm so sorry to hear about your device issues. I know how frustrating that must be. It does seem like you've done everything correctly. Let's try one more thing. If possible, try to connect a second router to one of the open ports on your VZW cellular router. Then connect your Blink to the second router. If the Blink works perfectly, then it may confirm that there is some sort of setting issue in the WIFI portion of your VZW cellular router. It could be security related. My doorbell camera just stays in event mode now. I don’t have a sync module bc I wasn’t advised I needed one. I’ve had the camera since about April and it was okay until recently. I have a subscription I’m now paying for, and the product doesn’t work. Any advice would be a blessing
Hi Portia! Maybe I can help. First let's try to power cycle the camera by removing the batteries (or unplugging it) for about 15 - 20 secs. Then replace the batteries (plug in the power) and reboot the system. Hopefully that will solve the issue. AND... The Blink Video Doorbell can manage its own system. It doesn't require a sync module. But when it's installed with a connected Sync Module, the doorbell battery life is improved and advanced features are available.
Nice vid , I see in your settings you can turn off the led when recording , my options list do not have the status led on/off and I believe I have the current firmware version 7.101

Hi RB! You can try resetting your system to factory default and starting all over again. But paying the sub is the fastest and easiest way that I know of at the moment.
@@TeachMe101 something that ended up working for me was deleting the sync module from network and readding it. Then i had to reset my modem and router and it started working
Yes when I load cameras this image with outdoor with numbers 1 -4 blue upload circle up right corner goes for little time then pops up failed command with ok under it

Amazon cloud cam was by far better than blink, blink don’t record everything like Amazon cloud did, individually every cam records everything blink camera won’t do that, I’m about to change everything after 3 month I don’t like them

LOL seriously. Plug a $10 USB thumb drive to it... They suck because they are locked on 2G so now with my insane 1GB up and down, they don't work because 2G and 5G are merged inside the eero 6. So now, time to upgrade the darn cameras. SO IF YOU HAVE FIBER OPTICS, DO NOT GET BLINK CAMERAS. or you will need a repeater and slow that sucker down to 2G and connect your Blink module to that.
I have had mine for about 7 years .They all work fine .( I have 4 ) My rear one in my conservatory will even notify me through the rear glass door if someone tries appears outside the door , and that is a indoor mini USB plug in Blink camera.

I would say, yes. But it could also be that your USB drive isn't working properly. Try to reboot the system and reinstalling the USB device.

Hello great video I was wondering if you had any other tips for this problem. In my case I did go from a no plan to a plan then back to a no plan. Now it tells me “This Usb storage device has no clips” i checked the usb and its empty
Hi NotSeedBun! That's a good question.
First, I would verify that there are no clips on the USB. Unmount the USB from the sync module, then insert it into a computer. Check it for any footage. If you find any clips, save them to your computer. I would also format the USB, unplug the sync module from power for 2 minutes, plug it back into power, wait for it to reconnect, then re-mount the USB into the sync module. When the module discovers it, it may bring it back online.

I still cannot get motion record and I have no subscription, it will not let me turn that on it is grayed out on the settings, all I get is live view and notifications I’m not on Record have they done some thing in the past month I can only get the recording if I pay for the subscription

Maybe I can help. Do you have a USB connected to the sync module? If so, some people have had success by disconnecting and then re-connecting the external USB drive from the module. But make sure you go to the settings and safely eject it first. You may have to clear all the data on the USB drive as well.

Hi Carlos! Check the storage space in the USB drive. Drives can be up to 256 gigs but no higher. You could also try re-mounting the drive. If necessary power down the unit for a few minutes then plug it up again.
Same problem with mine
Beside the suggestions below I deleted and downloaded the app. That did not help. Then I reset the module by pressing the button on the back and re-adding the blink module. That seemed to help in my case.
I bought mine just under a year ago. Last month, they just stopped recording. They start to recording and then I get blinking green lights. I've tried everything including deleting the entire system and starting all over. Nothing has worked. Live view, wifi, and usb are all fine. Don't know what the blinking green lights mean.
Hi Dawn! I'm so sorry to hear about the trouble. It looks like you've done a great job trouble shooting. But let's try one more thing. Try resetting your router too. The green blinking light means there is some sort of communion error. The router could be the problem.

@@TeachMe101 I will try it but I emailed blink and found out that this system i purchased in January is longer eligible for usb storage. I either have to pay $10 a month or buy a system according to them. I wouldn't have purchased them if I had known that they were going to delete that feature.

My early non-subscription worked "perfect" until I got a new router. With the new VZW cellular router I get motion detection notifications, but no video clip. Occasionally, I get partial video or a still frame, and even more rare actual video. I can save live views and those clips show up. Live view works great. Cameras and sync module all show good wi-fi. Router shows that the sync module is connected. On the router I can get 8Mbps upload of TH-cam video, no problem. Router seems to stream video just fine. Router and phone are on the same provider and I would assume the same tower. I can replace the router with the hotspot on my phone in the same location and the system works "perfectly" again. What to do?
Hi Mike! I'm so sorry to hear about your device issues. I know how frustrating that must be. It does seem like you've done everything correctly. Let's try one more thing. If possible, try to connect a second router to one of the open ports on your VZW cellular router. Then connect your Blink to the second router. If the Blink works perfectly, then it may confirm that there is some sort of setting issue in the WIFI portion of your VZW cellular router. It could be security related.

My doorbell camera just stays in event mode now. I don’t have a sync module bc I wasn’t advised I needed one. I’ve had the camera since about April and it was okay until recently. I have a subscription I’m now paying for, and the product doesn’t work. Any advice would be a blessing
Hi Portia! Maybe I can help.
First let's try to power cycle the camera by removing the batteries (or unplugging it) for about 15 - 20 secs. Then replace the batteries (plug in the power) and reboot the system. Hopefully that will solve the issue.
AND...
The Blink Video Doorbell can manage its own system. It doesn't require a sync module. But when it's installed with a connected Sync Module, the doorbell battery life is improved and advanced features are available.

Hi RB! You can try resetting your system to factory default and starting all over again. But paying the sub is the fastest and easiest way that I know of at the moment.
@@TeachMe101 something that ended up working for me was deleting the sync module from network and readding it. Then i had to reset my modem and router and it started working

Amazon cloud cam was by far better than blink, blink don’t record everything like Amazon cloud did, individually every cam records everything blink camera won’t do that, I’m about to change everything after 3 month I don’t like them

LOL seriously. Plug a $10 USB thumb drive to it...
They suck because they are locked on 2G so now with my insane 1GB up and down, they don't work because 2G and 5G are merged inside the eero 6. So now, time to upgrade the darn cameras.
SO IF YOU HAVE FIBER OPTICS, DO NOT GET BLINK CAMERAS. or you will need a repeater and slow that sucker down to 2G and connect your Blink module to that.

My rear one in my conservatory will even notify me through the rear glass door if someone tries appears outside the door , and that is a indoor mini USB plug in Blink camera.
Seriously? Sub is $100/yr. Quit being cheap folks and pay for the sub
