- CNX was Cartoon Network UK's short-lived sister network, which launched on October 14, 2002 and was replaced on September 7, 2003 by a 24/7 Toonami channel. The channel was aimed at males from 12-34 and aired a mix of cartoons and live-action. From what I heard, it also aired Adult Swim shows. It also had a Toonami block.

I remember when CNX launched in 2002. They were running the new episodes of the Buu saga on DBZ. They actually ran the funimation dubs first, then changed back to Ocean. And then when the repeats went out they were all Ocean. They ran a promo which also went out on Cartoon Network for the Buu saga, which contained the funi dub of Buu's "No More! No More Waiting!!" line while standing on the lookout. Been looking for that advert since.

cnx was a big part of my younger teenage years. Animes I've never seen, wondering how Cowboy Bebop was going to end, bawling my eyes out when I finally caught the ending....good times.
This is so nostalgic I got chills… I want my CNX back 😭

I remember CNX it was so awesome it had so much more than cartoonnetwork. It had everything to satisfy young kids, teens and young adults.

Rapture TV as well, they got rid of that where they aired EXCEL SAGA. No Rockworld TV where they aired GILGAMESH and CROMARTIE HIGH. Anime is dead-on-arrival in censorious UK.
I remember this when I was 12! My god so many memories, outlaw star, deagon ball z, cowboy bebop, x men evolution, blue sub 6 and tenchi. Man so many years gone by.
Was looking for a montage music they had for the cartoons using points of authority, linking park anyone remember that?
I do! Same with one where they mixed Eminem, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Electric Sex and then a surfing one with No One Knows by QOTSA
Yeah I was just listening to reanimation and also wonderd where it was, I remeber papa roach on the video but have no idea what the reanimation was used on..
I think it was just a montage of cartoons and adverts for the channel its self.

Yeah same here. Except I was the middle of high school. My life literally consisted of CNX, Game Network, Wrestling and my Dreamcast.

Ok, this is a serious long shot, but does anyone remember a CNX ad/promo that went "C is for comedy, N is for Japanese animation, X is for.......XTREEEMMMMEEE!"??? I really want to see it again haha I haven't seen it since about over 10 years ago!

Judging by how no one has replied in 4 years, I'm going to guess no :/ it sucks how little of British culture is preserved online, especially when you consider how much American stuff is vastly archived

We have Spike in the UK but it’s full of cop shows instead of actual programmes 💀
It was more like an adult version of cartoon network with toonami shows only and adult swim stuff at night with kung fu and movies from the 70s.

HAPPY 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CNX!!!!!
CNX was sooooo good! Its cos of this channel that I discovered cowboy bebop, outlaw star and saw all the bruce lee films (except enter the dragon but i had that already)
I can't believe it only lasted a year or so!
we should work on bringing this back. I think we can #BringBackCNX to TV. I think we need some support, and licenses to broadcast programmes and we should be a step closer.
Oh my God, these are old memories I never thought I'd experience again! The ones I saw are exactly as I remember them!

I remember this channel very fondly. Didn't care much for Japanese anime at the time this came out except for that one Daft Punk music video but I remember the cool electronic music and the use of Ian Brown's "F.E.A.R." from the ads and Linkin Park which had clips for X-MEN I think? They even aired SPACE GHOST COAST TO COAST there which at the time I haven't seen in years on Cartoon Network UK until it re-aired again around 2007 on Bravo through their [adult swim] block.
it started getting like the old bravo channel of 1997
I never watched CNX on tv before. If it makes a comeback, I hope it shows Home Movies or Dragon Ball like the old days. #BringbackCNX

I don't think so, but I'm not 100% sure
CNX was where most of the adult swim shows premiered in the UK but after it closed adult swim programs like aqua teen hunger force bounced around bravo tcm2 and fx as an adult swim block on those channels, before eventually moving to an adult swim block on e4.
It was just cnx around 2000, adult swim didn't start up until after 2010. I could be wrong though. Really miss those days, honestly shouldn't have come back here lol.

CNX was much similar to JETIX (currently Disney XD). The short-lived network got credit for MOST of its originals.

CN TOO closed down on 1 April, CNX would've had good ratings if they improted nore WB cartoons and anime, ratings must have slumped due to repetition. They should bring it back and avoid a Toonami 24/7 channel.
This was replaced by Toonami. CNX is now Toonami everybody!
