The only two TV/movie homes I've ever gotten close to were the home from FULL HOUSE and the apartment building in SLC where the blind kid was petting the dead bird in DUMB AND DUMBER. I didn't go out of my way to see them. For the FH house, I just looked at it from Alamo Park, the same park from the opening credits. For the DUMB AND DUMBER apartments, I lived, for a short time, about 4 blocks away from it. So, once in a while, I'd pass by it while doing my errands. I hope this doc will also be on the free streaming services that have the MAXIMUM EFFORT channel.
Just finished watching this. I loved it. I've been to many locations. Jimmy's house from Pulp Fiction, the Poltergeist house, Rick Dalton's house from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The house from Charmed and the house from Grandma's Boy are right across the street from each other. Looking forward to a sequel.
Talk about a tantalizing trailer! Looks like one totally delightful documentary! Many thanks to Hollywood Forever Cemetery guide & film historian Karie Bible for bringing me here! 👍🤓
The house from the original Poltergeist movie just went up for sale a month or so ago.. it's a pretty cool looking property and they actually put a pool in the backyard.
Sounds like a fun premise! I once lived in a house that was used in a movie. The exterior shots were all shot there and the inside was a set built to look EXACTLY like the inside of the house down to the most minute detail so everything facing the front of the house matched and everything to the back of the house like the bedroom and kitchen were built to their needs.
I was at Kurt Cobain's house the other day. There was always at least 4-6 people at the park next to it. It was a random weekday too. There must be a hundred people a day that stop by. Crazy.
As much as I enjoy tv and movies and they have always been an important part of my life, I can't work up a lot of enthusiasm over the various houses that have been featured on film. They were just part of the story, but nothing that I'm planning to visit while squealing and screaming with excitement.
I thought the same thing. The house is so iconic some dude even recreated it somewhere in (I think) the Philippines, and even now with Shannen Doherty’s passing people left flowers and candles outside the house.
I've been to many houses from films/TV.- fun note, the Tommy Doyle from "Halloween" are actually 2 streets over from The "The Elm Street" house. (0.3 miles - 6min walk)
Pretty sure the owners added one to mimic the movie as closely as possible. The actual interior of the house was used, but I believe the basement was a set.
That was the Goonies house in Astoria, Oregon. Near where I live. Fortunately "Karen" finally sold and moved out and the new owners are VERY Goonies friendly!
Wasn't it disclosed to the buyer that house they want to buy is famous? Some people have fun with it , others are mean/angry. I can understand the anger when people are disrespectful. Like people throwing pizzas on the roof of Walter White's house. Just stop, take pictures and move on.
The house may not be "famous" when they bought it. interesting show. Plenty of websites exist on filming locations, and documentaries made, but a show is interesting. I would like to see details on the "Mr. Mom" house. I found building estimation plans for an almost identical Cape Cod style house offered in a newspaper ad decades ago, but I lost them in a move.
@@jaypoppop2207 There are plenty of movies and tv shoes that are made and do not become enduring cultural icons with a devoted fan base that seeks out and travels to filming locations.
@@RetroGirl1967 whoa don’t remember that at all lol. Probably just thinking of the credits but I thought it was always there. Foggy recollections coming back now but I was pretty young. Not sure why I even thought of it lol but was just thinking back. Alf’s house would be cool.
That married couple should get a DeLorean, go back and time and make sure they never meet. My goodness, the vitriolic look on each of their faces when the other one spoke was wild.
Good luck finding Jerry Seinfeld's apartment, although you can gaze at the exterior of Tom's Restaurant on the corner of West 112th Street and Broadway to your heart's content. The interior sets would be long gone to that great recycling yard in the sky (aka somewhere in LA). Cyberspace, however, never sleeps ;) th-cam.com/video/oDx9g-Svznk/w-d-xo.html
I really enjoyed this documentary! As someone who used to be obsessed with filming locations, it was right up my alley!
The main thing is fans need to remember this is someone's home and to be as respectful as possible.
I certainly have a notion to second THAT emotion!
I really, reaaaaallly hope this is the beginning of Jason Lee's comeback 🤞
Sidenote: banging song (theme?) in the background
Itd be funny as hell if they tried to Show the Breaking Bad House, but the camera crew would just get cussed away. XDXDXD
I think the homeowners have stories of people actually tossing pizza onto it.
@@jeffbrehove2614so their disdain is valid
The house was demolished a couple years after the show ended
@@Cocotaso.shakernot true. Lol I have a picture of my daughter and ex out front with the woman who lives there.

The house from Old School is also the house in Back to the Future 2 where Biff throws the kids’ ball onto the balcony.

(Not so) Fun Fact: The infamous pool scene used real skeletons because they were cheaper than fake ones. JoBeth Williams was not amused by this.
Really? I thought it got sucked into the ghost dimension lol

That's cool that Jason lee and Ryan Reynolds technically teamed up for this project I'd love to see them actually star in something together!

I used to go to this Google Chrome interactive music video and always put the addresses of movie or tv locations.
I'd like to apologize to the owners of the Goonies house for that one time that I did the truffle shuffle in their driveway
😂 now that’s funny!
I love the concept of this show
They should do the house from breaking bad, the owners keep finding pizzas thrown onto their roof!

I saw my workplace in there!!!!

Silver Spoons house better still have the train
They lost the train partway through the series. It was shortly after Edward married Kate.
