One of the craziest things that happened to me. I finished the final episode of Lost and walked to Santa Monica 3rd street. I was in the line at a coffee shop. Desmond was right in front of me! I was already super emotional due to just being finished the show only an hour ago. I told him "I'll see you in another life brother". He smiled! What a moment!
I remember one day being in our new flat in my bedroom aged 21, watching the first episodes of this air on channel 4 in the UK. Feeling blissed out on life and full of youthful exuberance. It was a fun 6-year journey. Now five minutes has passed and we’re celebrating the 20th anniversary! How can it be 20-years! I mean really!?
Many streaming series owe their existence to LOST. This kind of plot serialisation and multi-cultural casting was *unheard of* on network TV in this era. LOST walked so Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. could run. It reshaped what TV as a medium could be in a significant way.
A beautiful job. Great interviews and an absolute love letter to the fandom. Watched this documentary twice in LA and I can tell you, you won't want to missed it when is release!!!
Just saw every episode with my wife (who had not seen it before). She loved it and didnt feel bad about the ending.Lost came out 20 years ago and I am now 45 years old, and as we just saw it . . . . maybe next time when I am 65! And twenty years from that or see you in another life brother. This doc is a must watch!
I never understood the false narrative that LOST didn't provide answers. I think ppl who say this simply didn't pay attention close enough. How some ppl completely misinterpreted the ending to mean they were dead the whole time is a perfect example of this. We learned everything by the end of the series, every mystery was solved. From what the island really was, why the candidates were chosen, Jacob & The Smoke monsters origin & function, the islands strange properties, the dharma initiative, time travel & everything else. Heck even the smaller mysteries like the polar bears, the bodies in the caves, the voices in the jungle, to why ppl couldn't leave, all of it was explained by the end. This will always be the greatest tv series in history right up there with the original Twilight Zone imo & I thought the ending perfectly lived up to the wild ride that led us there. To see them find each other years later during the side flashes, (the only time they were actually dead btw) so they could "let go" & "move on" together was simply beautiful. Made even better with the phenomenal score by Michael Giacchino. This show forever changed my life in so many ways & taught me so much about the fundamentals of storytelling, I probably never would've created a YT channel of my own reviewing my favorite shows if not for LOST. And now thanks to the executive producers of "LOST" we finally have a worthy successor with the incredible series "FROM". The best series currently on tv imo. Cant wait to see this documentary & it's great to know this was made by true fans.
100%! And even more so for the bingeing crowd. I felt SO satisfied with the ending in 2010 and then when I comfort binged it again later, even more questions were confirmed/answered. The folks were not paying attention. I loved the experience of watching this show and sharing it with my friends.
They practically had a character stare at the screen and say 'they weren't dead the whole time,' and I thought that was too much. Obviously I was wrong, since so many people misinterpreted the ending.
Hahaha that’s what I always say too. It’s disturbing bhow little people understand/notice. Even self-proclaimed “die-hard fans”. I’ve given up on trying to explain it to people. You either get it or you are unintelligent. There’s no in 1:49 between. Sorry. You can tell a lot about a person if they say something like, “Oh, yeah I think I saw up until season 3. It just got too confusing.” People want everything to be explained right away. Where’s the fun in that? That’s what’s so beautiful about LOST. It’s a journey that you are on with every character as it goes. You have to solve a puzzle along the way. These people should just stick with “How I Met Your Mother” and be spoon fed stale jokes while a laugh-track tells them when to laugh. Rant over. 😂
I loved the ending and Lost will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m loving your coverage of FROM. It is a worthy successor to Lost so far I agree. There’s been a lot of Lost imitations since it ended and none ever quite matched up, till From came around.
Greatest show of all time. Can’t wait to get to watch this. Love that they got so much of the cast. Looks like a love letter to LOST. We have to go back!
That’s a great way of putting it! It definitely is a love letter to LOST! I saw it the first two nights that it premiered in LA and wasn’t sick of it lol can’t wait to watch it again!
Lost truly marked my life. It was one of the most prominent things in my life during those years. And it changed television. For me, it is the greatest show ever. I have rewatched a few times, and some things I realize now: it is visually stunning (shot on film), the acting is out of this world and many of the episodic scripts are actual masterpieces, like small movies or small tales.
I've watched this series 4 times since it's release and I would happily watch it a 5th time. Every time I've watched it through, I've learned something new every time. Even after all this time, the show still continues to entertain! Can't wait to see this documentary.
Came here to say that I had a friend I met through an MMORPG who became a real life friend because we found out we both loved Lost. She joined my little text chain of friends who would discuss the show every week and between seasons share the fun internet puzzles that were put out there to keep us guessing and digging. It was a six year love affair with a pop culture phenomenon and she was with me for 4 years of it, and beyond. The day we met was her coming to stay with me during SD Comic Con, and she was wearing her Dharma jumpsuit. We lucked into a little panel ostensibly about the script continuity person and had surprise appearance from Damon and Carlton and Michael Emerson. We were in RAPTURES. She died in 2016, a bubbly, curious, excited, loving light extinguished - and watching this trailer, I just cried because she won't get to see it. Dramatic? Maybe. But so true. She would be beside herself and one of us would probably have flown to see the other so we could watch it together. I gave her my hatch key from the fan club box as a gift long ago, and when she died her husband gave it back to me. I see it every morning. I hope she is waiting there at the all-denominational church for me.
I would totally watch a Prequel/Sequel to Lost. A whole new cast jumping around in time solving the mysteries of the Island and answering the unanswered questions and asking new ones. Cameos abound.
"Guys, where are we?" Others, "one is light, one is dark", hatch, the Constant, raft 1 and 2, black smoke, pregnancies on the island, frozen donkey wheel, MIB, Numbers/Candidates, whispers, time jumps, flashbacks/forwards/sideways, incidents, characters named after philosophers, Henry Gale (you know the rest), Richard freakin' Alpert, LaFleur, Two for the Road's ending, "Not Penny's Boat", "We Have to go back", "Live together, die alone", "Don't tell me what I can't do", "Dude", "Complex guy sweetheart", "I just shot a polar bear", "We're the good guys", Epilogue. "See you in another life, brother" There is a reason I rewatch this show every year.
LOST made such a profound impact on my life. It's the reason I became a filmmaker from watching the first episode on my 16th birthday with my best friends, to waiting week after week for every episode. It was peak television and I can't thank everyone involved in making it enough. See you in another life, brotha
Loved the show, loved the ending, loved every single thing about it. Why there haven't been a thousand spin-off series and movies about LOST is beyond me. PS: We need a screening in Brazil, there's a huge LOST fanbase here ❤❤❤
I watched Lost when it came out in 2004, I was blown away! I became obsessed with it! It's a life long obsession of mine haha Second time I rewatched in 2010, when final season came out. And now I'm rewatching it again, already on season 5. Lost has definitely changed my life, it's like Faraday said about Desmond "he is my anchor". Lost is my anchor to my young self, to more happy times in life, to something good:) So can't wait to see this documentary!
I’m so excited for all the LOSTIES across the world to be able to enjoy this documentary. I flew across the country to see the world premiere, and it does not disappoint. Taylor and Ralph are exactly the kind of people who should have made this film, and they executed it beautifully. It’s snowballed into something so much bigger and wider reaching than I ever imagined. Bravo, can’t wait to watch in the comfort of my own home and share with others! Namaste!
I'm honestly so here for this. I was suuuuch a huge Lost fangirl, I started watching in the hiatus between episode 10 and 11 of season 1 when I was only 14 and it changed my life honestly. I would show it to all my friends and I made so many online friends over the years. I watched every week and by the time the show was ending, I was working my first job. Because I live in Australia, the episodes aired during the day time, so I legitimately took a day off work to stream the finale live so I wouldn't get spoiled by my friends. It was truly a huge part of my teen years and it will always have a special place in my heart. I can't wait to watch this documentary. ❤
I love everything about this show, have watched it multiple times and introduced LOTS of people who didn't see it during broadcast. I was one of those people who fled to the web to dig up the clues that were cast as commercials during the original broadcasts! I love that there are channels devoted to explaining various details of the show - especially the collected scenes of Jacob and MiB. Too many great moments to count. What a great GREAT cast. Monumental.
@@agnespeck5430 there are a lot of LOST podcasts, past and present, as well. I’m sure you could Google them. Some of those folks are in the documentary.
This was the first primetime show I ever got hooked on. I watched the first four seasons on DVD and got caught up once season 5 started airing. Crazy to think it's been 20 years since it began and 14 years since the show ended. Truly an amazing experience.
This documentary encompasses all that made this show what it is which is the fans and I love how yall presented it can't wait till it comes out to the public !! And the trailer song is amazing !!
We just finished our re watch of the series, and still love it. One of the greatest shows ever made. Fun, mysterious, weird, action packed and emotional. And ya, the ending was perfect. If you didn't get it, you didn't pay attention...or just like big explosions and stuff to cap off your viewing experience. 🤪
Can’t express enough how much this feels like an extension of the show itself. “We have to go back” is beyond appropriate for the tag line as that’s what it does: for all of us who went to the early LA screenings, THIS DOC TOOK US BACK TO THE ISLAND! Can’t wait to see it again when it comes out.
Seeing John Lock again made my day!!!!! Best series ever made. Felt so many things watching it...i still rewatch it sometimes and it only confirms me that is the best series ever made. The characters evolution is just perfect. The cast, the acting, the soundtrack!!!! And the constant faith against "science" scenario is just perfection. Love that faith wins at the end 😊 Btw if you like Lost, watch the Leftovers. Pure art.
I just booked my tickets for London next month. I can't wait, LOST holds a very special place in my heart. It's still the greatest piece of TV I have ever seen
YEEEES !!! I love Lost. My issue with it back then - 20 years later, is that I remember getting frustrated with the characters for not explaining their pasts to each other, not discussing their déjà vu moments, or just looking baffled and brushing things off by saying, 'It’s nothing.
I didn't watch Lost until it had already ended it's initial run. I binged the whole series on Netflix in a couple weeks. It was the greatest show I had ever seen, and I couldn't believe I never gave it a chance when it was on the air. I have no idea how people waited 6 years to see how it played out lol
Watching it while it aired was the ultimate way of experiencing the show. There were boards where you would discuss every detail, insane theories being thrown around, it was part of the show and even the showrunners would join the Convo from time to time. Will never happen again for any show. It was one of a kind.
So stoked for this! The song is “Roller Coaster Smoke” by Punchline. The ukulele part is a cover version by Royish Good Looks. Thanks for featuring our music in the trailer! It’s a huge honor.
"The others are coming to take us away. I don't know what they want cause they never say. Now we'll live together or we will die alone." 💫 These lyrics towards the end of the trailer got me even more emotional than I already was... they deserve appreciation! 🧡 P.S. As a Lostie from England, I'm so excited to see this... hearing the reactions of everyone who has already seen it just adds even more to the excitement! "We have to go back!" 🥰
Happened upon this 3 weeks ago. This documentary about the show, is the very reason I started watching the show. 3 weeks ago. 20 years late. Fast forward 21 days… I’m now half way through Season 4.
I really can't wait to see this. Lost is still one of my favorite shows. Having a documentary was a great idea and reminds me of how much I still love the show.
Can't wait for everyone to experience the documentary that is to the fans what the church in the finale was to the survivors of Oceanic 815. Nice work all!
In 2007, I was 10 years old and started watching LOST. I quickly caught up to the third season and followed along with the rest of the world, excited for each new episode. Back then, I had to wait for my uncles to buy the DVD box set, and then wait for everyone in the family to watch it before I could get my hands on it. I remember binge-watching the fourth season, and it was such an incredible experience! The first time I ever binged a series. And unlike today's shows, which have fewer episodes, we know how great it is to have a bunch of episodes to dive into! I remember it took me two years to watch the last episode because I didn't want to face the grief and accept that the cycle had ended. On the day I finally decided to watch it, I cried like a baby longing for their mother for more than two hours. It was such a painful cry... At the height of my 16 years, the end of LOST hurt me way more than a breakup. LOST awakened a huge sense of empathy in me because I saw stories so different from mine, yet I still recognized myself in every character. I feel like I grew up with LOST. Now, at 27, it remains my favorite show, and nothing surpasses the legacy of LOST. I got emotional watching the trailer and can't wait to see the full documentary. Hugs from Brazil! =)
I am in Brazil and I have no idea how nor when this amazing doc will be available around here but I am more than happy to know that, yes, we have to go back!!!!
For anyone that somehow isn’t sold on this documentary from this trailer, having had the privilege to have seen the documentary twice already, I still am thinking “I’m gonna have to watch that again.” But let’s be honest, if you’ve watched the trailer, you’re sold already.
Question for you then: does the doc do anything to defend the ending, and comment on the bizarre hivemind consensus that perpetuates today? Detractors still repeat the erroneous belief that "they were dead the whole time on the island".
We need water! Let's go back! I love this series. Multiple rewatches perfect for binge wstching, and i love to invite new people to experience the LOST adventure. I'm looking forward to seeing this.
The Getting Lost Documentary is a fantastic reminder of everything that made LOST so special. Watching it brought back all those emotions, the thrill of mystery, the depth of the characters, and the power of connection. It’s a beautiful tribute that perfectly captures the essence of the show and the impact it had on its fans! #wehavetogoback #livetogetherdiealone
This documentary is the greatest gift for the Lost fandom! This documentary not only celebrates the show itself but also the fans. It’s a great example of how something we love like a tv show or our favorite band can create a safe space for so many people! Can’t wait to watch this again and again!
Nope. It started well, but Abrams had no idea what it was, where it was going or how to end it. Glad you enjoyed it, but the majority are correct, it was a terrible ending.
At the time I didn't understand season 6, instead of answers I got more questions. But after rewatching the whole series, Season 6 is a great and cohesive ending. Love the show!
Me and my wife got married this summer in Jurassic Valley in Hawaii where they shot most of Lost! It was the most beautfyl venue we could've ever asked for! The date was 6.23 😏 Lost has been a major guiding part of my life ever since I watched it. In a weird way it led me to her. Can't wait to watch this with her. It's a good year to be a LOST fan!!
After 20 years, we watched the whole series again, and it was great, especially the ENDING! When I first watched the series, when it was aired, I didn't like the ending as almost everybody else. But now, for whatever reason, both my wife and I loved the ending. Also, due to the flood of crappy movies and series nowadays, it is easier to understand that Lost was a MASTERPIECE !
I think it's because we were all so hungry for answers at the time. But watching it now, I feel like the writers nailed it - the answers weren't what was important, it was the characters that mattered most. I liked the ending at the time, but love it now. Every time 2 characters 'meet' and recover their memories from the island - instant chills. All time show, all time ending.
I'll say it: I didn't hate the ending; I actually rather liked it. I wasn't expecting a grand answer-every-question finale, but I WAS expecting to say a meaningful goodbye to my friends (so to speak). The ending they gave did that in a splendid way and felt very respectful to the characters -- it felt like an epilogue, a nice closing of a favorite book. Now, for those that wanted a "wrap-up" that answered everything, they included a new mini-episode on the box set called "The New Man In Charge" (or something close to that). And it's right here on the Tubes of You. Cheers to the docmakers!
Been watching it for the second time (the first time being when it orignally aired!), and I've been REALLY enjoying it! It really is a great piece of television, and a special shout out to the on location filming of it! In today's modern landscape of big budget TV all being filmed in studio and overly reliant on questionable cgi, it's really felt refreshing and lends to the illusion of this all being real really well.
Everything was fine and dandy until I saw Desmond say see you in another life brother and then I broke! 😢😢😢😢 As someone that is an absolute lifer who has watched the show seven times through and absolutely loves everything about it including the ending I absolutely cannot wait for this to come out!🎉
Everyone has to see this. This is simply a must for every LOSTie. Like Ralph said, this is basically the only official LOST documentary that is unlikely to be topped by anything.
After 14 years, I finally rewatched LOST again on Netflix - I have not seen it since the time I finished finale - back in 2010 I hated the finale so much I completely hated the whole show and didnt even want to rewatch it... But now after 14 years I watched in again in last few weeks, and I must say I liked it way more. Yes of course could have been better, but somehow rewatching it now episode after episode it was quite alright, yeah ending is basic but wasnt too horrible somehow. I think what changed in myself, is that back in the day anticipation, secrets, and all with Lost was SO high - I remember in school and everywhere all the time talking about LOST , and going online reading all theories and all... that anticipation was overkill to the show. But quite happy now rewatching, I must say I did like it a lot more after so much time 🙂 Way more than GOT 😄
YES!!!!....Been following since the talk of this doc began!!!...Best TV show of all time....The fans deserve this and nobody else could have done a better job bringing it to us..Thank You!!!!

Because I live in Australia, the episodes aired during the day time, so I legitimately took a day off work to stream the finale live so I wouldn't get spoiled by my friends. It was truly a huge part of my teen years and it will always have a special place in my heart. I can't wait to watch this documentary. ❤
You’ll dig it
The single best tv show ever. And the finale was great.
Monumental.
May you please share those channels? I always wondered about few things after watching it there was always unresolved mysteries thanks 🙏🏻
@@agnespeck5430 there are a lot of LOST podcasts, past and present, as well. I’m sure you could Google them. Some of those folks are in the documentary.
Lost is my favourite show of the 2000s, cant wait to watch this documentary!
It's the best show that ever has or ever will be on TV.
This was the first primetime show I ever got hooked on. I watched the first four seasons on DVD and got caught up once season 5 started airing. Crazy to think it's been 20 years since it began and 14 years since the show ended. Truly an amazing experience.
Lost wasn't a show, it was a place where miracles happen.
This documentary encompasses all that made this show what it is which is the fans and I love how yall presented it can't wait till it comes out to the public !! And the trailer song is amazing !!
The youngsters know Evangeline Lilly as Hope "The Wasp" Dyne, but the elders know her as "freckles". "Freckles" is back!
This trailer is perfect! I cannot wait for everyone to see how even more perfect this film is!
This show changed my life .. gave my life a deeper meaning
Can’t express enough how much this feels like an extension of the show itself. “We have to go back” is beyond appropriate for the tag line as that’s what it does: for all of us who went to the early LA screenings, THIS DOC TOOK US BACK TO THE ISLAND! Can’t wait to see it again when it comes out.
this isnt just a show.... this feeling is something unique and only the hardcore fans can experience it. and i am happy to be part of it!!
Just started rewatching this week. So many amazing memories from watching this show when it aired. It was a cultural phenomenon.
The most important part of my life was, and still is, watching this show. My favorite anything.
The first show I ever really became obsessed with and loved. It made me want to make tv shows, can't wait to watch this.
I can say this: I’ve seen it twice, and think we need to see it again.
still my all time favorite show
I can't wait for the doc to come to the east coast! I just started another re-watch with my family and it still hits the same! Congrats on the doc!
Pure art.
I was lucky enough to see this at the premiere in September. It’s fantastic! I’m very much looking forward to seeing this at another screening!
Just finished the show ❤
and i thought the ending was Amazing .. i cried like a baby
I just booked my tickets for London next month. I can't wait, LOST holds a very special place in my heart. It's still the greatest piece of TV I have ever seen
You are flying to london just to see this movie?
I wish I could forget I ever watched this show just so I could enjoy watching it for the first time again
YEEEES !!! I love Lost. My issue with it back then - 20 years later, is that I remember getting frustrated with the characters for not explaining their pasts to each other, not discussing their déjà vu moments, or just looking baffled and brushing things off by saying, 'It’s nothing.
Previously, on LOST.
yesss!!!
i miss the island, i miss the show, i miss them.... 🥹
The song has been stuck in my head for months! - Ralph
"The others are coming to take us away. I don't know what they want cause they never say. Now we'll live together or we will die alone." 💫
These lyrics towards the end of the trailer got me even more emotional than I already was... they deserve appreciation! 🧡
P.S. As a Lostie from England, I'm so excited to see this... hearing the reactions of everyone who has already seen it just adds even more to the excitement! "We have to go back!" 🥰
Love LOST! What a treat to have a documentary about it 20 years later!! 🎉
I hope you guys manage to get it to a streaming service or just put out for rental / purchase. Man I REALLY wanna see this
We want everyone to see it. We’ll get it to you one way or another.
Happened upon this 3 weeks ago. This documentary about the show, is the very reason I started watching the show. 3 weeks ago. 20 years late.
Fast forward 21 days… I’m now half way through Season 4.
Yes. We have to go back! I can’t wait for the world to see this great love letter to this perfect show.
I love that this comment section is full of people I know haha
@@soundwave-815 This is the place made so we can all find one another.
Jack is lost...
I guess he’s still protecting the island
I am in Brazil and I have no idea how nor when this amazing doc will be available around here but I am more than happy to know that, yes, we have to go back!!!!

For anyone that somehow isn’t sold on this documentary from this trailer, having had the privilege to have seen the documentary twice already, I still am thinking “I’m gonna have to watch that again.” But let’s be honest, if you’ve watched the trailer, you’re sold already.
Where can it be watched?
@@labkl253Not on streaming until 2025 😭😭😭
@@elipandaman Journey before Destination!
Question for you then: does the doc do anything to defend the ending, and comment on the bizarre hivemind consensus that perpetuates today? Detractors still repeat the erroneous belief that "they were dead the whole time on the island".
Why lie about it?
Had a huge grin on my face for the entire trailer. Can't wait to watch this!
can't wait to watch this! just finished my rewatch and i'm so hype for this doc
Easily one of the best shows ever. And every time I see the ending I like it more and more
LOST still holds up and is a great re-watch. The finale and the whole journey were amazing.
Me and my wife got married this summer in Jurassic Valley in Hawaii where they shot most of Lost! It was the most beautfyl venue we could've ever asked for! The date was 6.23 😏
Lost has been a major guiding part of my life ever since I watched it. In a weird way it led me to her. Can't wait to watch this with her. It's a good year to be a LOST fan!!
Lost was a phenomenon and created a new standard in my mind for what excellent television should be. I'm looking forward to watching this.
@@lukewilliam3601 I agree! And I do love the end, where they “remember”!
We're watching for the second ,well my second time ,my husbands fourth.
Some people hated Lost because of the ending. I loved Lost because of the journey.
Who-hooooo !! Can't wait to see sparkles in the audience eyes
Cant wait to see this! One of my all time favourite shows...and the ending was beautiful ❤
I have just finished watching Lost for the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I will watch it again!!
I had the privilege to watch this and blew me away!!!! It was AWESOME!!!!
Best show by a country mile. Grateful you were able to get so many of the people involved!

One of the greatest series of all time, and a documentary about it that looks fantastic ❤

As of right now, it's the definitive feature length documentary about the show. - Ralph
I've watched the trailer 3 times already. I can't wait for this to come out.
I’ve been following along with you guys forever on Twitter. Can’t wait to see the full thing!
Super excited! Very nice trailer and I can't wait to watch the full documentary ❤
One of the best shows of all time. I binge watched all six seasons this christmas.
Miss the forums, the discussions right after each eppy. All the wild theories. Sadly all "Lost" now.
I can’t not even begin to describe how excited I am to watch this.
