- So, a lot of people have been asking how those fancy looking 8-bit modes in Sonic 1 Blastless were achieved. Well, it's quite simple, really. You just open a top secret configuration menu, tune some audio and video settings, some wizardry happens and voi-la! (Just kidding, it took several years to make)
So allow me to present to you, Sonic 1 Blastless DX! A Deluxe edition of Sonic 1 Blastless were you can build your own "Blastless" modes with a plenty of available video and audio settings, as well as some pre-configured presets. The game now also features a brand new DOS mode!

I'm having a hard time believing this is a Sega Genesis ROM hack due to how impressive this is.
This is the most technically impressive hack ever made, pushing asm to it's limits.

The gradual pixelation reminds me of some of the 8-bit levels from Rayman Legends.

I'm tempted to suggest you add a frameskipping option. An option to have the game skip calling the render/sound channel update routines every couple frames to artificially limit the framerate.

How do you activate this blast processing yellow bar from bottom right ? I have managed to see it only once but can't remember properly. Would appreciate the help. Really awesome work with this rom hack ! It feels so good to make the game re-playable with so many old school options.
Just don't go to the hidden config menu, it'll trigger a normal gameplay, where this bar is present.
Really appreciate the help ! Do you know if this can ever be possible in Sonic 2 ? I have had a ton of fun in just one playthrough ... Really appreciate so much your work put into this creation.

Honestly, at first glance on original I was a bit skeptical. No, it's impressive and all, but it seemed pretty lacking of features. Now, I'm TOTALLY invested into this and want to play it on SHC. See ya.
